Really enjoyed this place, wish we spent more time here. I think the manager helped us select our beer- very knowledgeable and let us try some samples. Everything tasted delicious. We sat outside and it was a nice little area. I'd hangout there for a couple hours with friends. They have some games outside also. TVs inside. The taco truck is also tasty. Looking forward to coming back!

Favorite brewery in the Austin area. It's not the biggest but that quaintness lends to charm. It is more peaceful and quite than other breweries in the area. The lines to get a drink aren't ridiculous and the giant tree outside provides ample shade for the picnic tables and games. My sister's and my favorite beer was Rojo, which is a Berliner weisse with red soda, something I had never had before but was pleasantly surprised by. It is sweet but not overwhelmingly so and has this intense, bright red color. It was originally brewed by a now defunct brewery and Rentsch cleaned out their stock and will eventually brew it but under a different name. Grab some food from a local food truck just outside, have yourself some good brews, and call it a relaxing day.

If you live in Georgetown or even San Antonio, this is the place to go! Not only is the beer selection here on point, but the beer garden is as good as it gets for central Texas spot! You won't find better bartenders, especially since it's the owner and everybody here always greets us with a smile and beer! They have rotating food trucks, live music and events on a regular basis so be sure to check their website. Family friendly spot and you can also bring your pets love the vibe. This place gives every time we come!

You can't beat this family friendly and laid back beirgarden. My husband and I have gone to this spot for years. They have a giant old tree in the middle, I love to stare at while enjoying the patio. My kids like the yard games and playing with other kids. My favorite is they have different food trucks every night and music sometimes on the weekend. Be sure to check out the axe throwing nights. Also the German bakery next door. They recently added seltzers which I love the variety!!

One more brewery off the bucket list, actually I don't have a bucket list, but if I did, it would be beer and food. So this brewery was in an industrial spot, right at the corner entrance of the complex. As we walked thru the gate, there was a food truck, Panini sandwiches, very good food. Once you go thru the gate, there is a covered patio, and some places to sit out from under the patio. I should have taken more pictures of the outside. It was a warm Saturday afternoon, but we were all sweaty so we sat outside in see the patio. Plenty of seating by the way. They had a small wedding on Saturday, so that was cool. Saw a small stage at the corner of the pro, so looks like they have live music. We went in. The brewery was very clean, didn't smell like old beer, so they are very clean behind the bar. The menu was small, but that's okay. There were three of us, Andy had a lager, Mike had a weisen bock, and I had the red Irish ale. I really enjoyed my ale, so we had those three first, the went back for another beer. Our bartender was very courteous and friendly. All them were. Also, very helpful with making a decision on what beer to try. So, the second beer I got, was the Rojo, and the reason I got this one, is that this beer had a different brewery name on it. The Islla Street brewery. I was taken back, because Islla street is one of my favorite breweries in San Antonio. I had heard that they were making a Big Red beer, so I waited and waited, then Covid hit, and never saw this beer materialize. Fast forward to May 6th, 2023, the one and only Rentsch brewery had Rojo beer on tap. So I asked how and why, and all I have to say is "THANK YOU, Rentsch, for keeping this beer alive." Needless to say, I bought a case, and as soon as I got home, I was kicking my self, for not buying two cases. This beer is a Berliner weisse style beer, sweet smelling and sweet tasting. I can't wait to have the guys over to try this. I love big red, like a fat boy loves cake. Plus I can't wait to make the trip up to Georgetown, Texas for more Rentsch brewery beer.

Nice outside patio area with spots for live music , sad there wasn't any when we were there, but this place was great and we'll definitely be back again to catch some tunes ! Sampled most of the beers. Pretty good in my opinion ! The clear fave was the Rojo, as we left with a 24 pack . For 20 bucks , woulda been a fool NOT to get a case ! Was supposed to be a bbq food truck the Sunday we were there but by the time we left around 230 it still wasn't there. Not sure if it ever came but I hope it did as the brewery was very busy ! The vanilla Lager was my second favorite ! The Apple strudel was surprisingly not bad , as that usually wouldn't be something I would normally pick , and the liquid courage was.... Damn! Jim beamish or something !! We'll be back for sure!

I wish I had discovered Rentsch brewery sooner. This is a great place to sit outside and enjoy the weather while sampling one of their many craft beers. They also have different visiting food trucks which makes it fun and interesting. We went for Oktoberfest and really enjoyed the German food truck and had BBQ another day. Rentsch has plenty of outdoor, shaded seating and the beer selection is impressive with lots of interesting seasonal offerings - I really enjoyed the apple streusel seasonal beer. We'll absolutely be back.

This place would be PERFECT on a nice day! unfortunately we went on a bit of a Rainey day, but it was still great outside (they turned the heaters on for us). Staff was helpful in picking a beer that suited our taste, and it was delicious! Wish they had their own food, but there are food trucks during certain hours!

One stop shopping for primo eating and drinking good times…read more * * * Obsidian Brewery makes beer. I have no idea how the beer is. I may visit Obsidian Brewery time after time after time after time and never find out how their beer is. This is because a) They have an outstanding bar and b) They have an outstanding kitchen. For me, beer is a hardship beverage you drink when there is nothing else better available. When I go to a bar, I can sometimes be looking for mix-mastering. Usually I am looking for outstanding top of the line hard spirits. * * * When I walked into Obsidian, I looked at their bar. It was love at first sight. In front of me were twenty yards of three shelves of the most wonderful bottles I could possibly imagine. Half of them I had never heard of before. * * * I settled on a Buddha's Hand Gin. Buddha and Gin rarely appear in the same sentence Never mind the same label on a bottle. I ordered it straight up. I went immediately to Nirvana. Forget the meditation and the austerities. The Buddha's Hand Gin was as good as a trip to the Himalayas. Buddha's Hand is an obscure citrus fruit that grows multiple protuberances the way some horseradishes do. It is golden and looks like a hand. Ergo the name. The Buddha's Hand Gin is a citrus tinged gin with an edge more like orange zest than like orange juice. The additional botanicals make it strong, attention grabbing, fruity and yet combative. I was absolutely fascinated. Note that Buddha's Hand Gin is only one of the many items they have to explore there. I am totally ready to do more exploring. * * * The kitchen at Obsidian is also of distinction. The savvy local guide I came with adored his Thai Curry Wood Fired Rings. I went with a Cheesy Bread. This is open-faced grilled cheese on a thick slice of bread the size of a shoebox, with a wonderful homemade tomato sauce on about 1/3 of it. It is the best cheese pizza you have ever had. It is what cheese pizza is supposed to be if you don't use the standard canned ingredients that institutional providers sell to Domino's. I was as in love with my cheese bread as I was with my citrus gin. * * * The company was also outstanding. Which is just as well because Obsidian is a social place. Lots of Leanderthals having a fine time in couples and groups. This is not a loner's loser bar. You know - the dark rooms with misfits drinking their sixth beer while watching TV. This is a good folks good times full-of-sunlight place. So you definitely want to come with good folks. * * * Good food, good bottles, good people. And if you are feeling chipper, You can even have a homemade beer to celebrate.

Mid afternoon lunch stop and first time finding parking near this restaurant. Booths were taken so…read moreopted to sit at the bar instead of at a long row of tables for 4. Lunch special - 2 of 3 - select beers, slice of cheese or pepperoni pizza or house or Caesar salad. Also happy hour special was $1 off select items. Bartender initially took our order but then shift changed and another person took over. She was covering tables in another area. Salad and pizza delivered at the same time. Pizza slice was NY style - very thin and cold be folded up to eat vs knife and fork. Decent amount of pepperoni which was tasty. I prefer a crispy pizza crust so found this awkward to eat. Knife and fork provided. House Salad was just ok. Black olives, mushrooms, cucumbers, shredded mozzarella and croutons clustered on top and lettuce underneath. Salads obviously premade. Mushrooms were dried out and slices of cucumbers had shriveled edges. Greek salad looked better with fresher ingredients but wasn't included in the lunch special. There was more variety in the overall menu but didn't have time for a lengthy lunch stop. Second server worked with prices and lunch special offerings with us. Beer was $7-10 per pint glass so lunch special at $10.99 w select beers is a good deal. Not a priority to go back between parking hassle and food was just ok.
