I hate that I even have to select one star to leave this review…read more We have been a Virginia Propane customer since 2021. During that time, our annual propane refills have been: 2022: 40 gallons 2023: 45 gallons 2024: 56 gallons 2025: 66 gallons 2026: 67 gallons Despite our usage steadily increasing each year, I was recently informed that because we do not meet a new 70-gallon annual minimum, our tank rental fee is increasing from $48 per year to $190 per year--nearly a 300% increase. We only use propane for our gas logs and outdoor grill. At our last fill up, we were 3.3 gallons short of meeting the 70 gallon minimum. I contacted customer service by email, and my husband also called to discuss the situation and ask if there were any options or exceptions. We were simply told that nothing could be done. When we asked about having the tank removed instead, the response was essentially, "Just let us know, and we'll schedule the removal." I understand that our account is relatively small, and I realize policies can change. However, the complete lack of flexibility or willingness to work with a customer was extremely disappointing. Rather than trying to keep our business, the company seemed perfectly content to lose us. The fee increase is frustrating, but the customer service experience is what ultimately prompted this review. We are going to have the tank removed (I'm sure that will be a pleasant experience) and go with a local company.

I've been a customer for over 10 years. The first 8 years were great, but the past 2 years have…read morebeen terrible. It seems like the company went through a merger or buyout, and since then the service has gone downhill. I called multiple times about a propane delivery that was promised but never came. The new agents who answer the phone seem so used to complaints that they just say whatever they need to get you off the phone. This is the first time in more than 10 years that I've ever run out of propane, and it happened because of the company's new management structure or whatever changes have been made. Over the course of 2 weeks, I spoke with 4 different agents and asked each of them to have a manager or supervisor call me back. I never received a single call. Do yourself a favor and find a different propane provider.

Update 9/2015: Over the last few months I've managed to work my way down from corporate management…read moreto the new local manager. They agreed to credit my account for some of the over-priced gas they delivered. Early this year they came twice to fill my tank in a period of just a couple months (1,000 gallons - it lasts a full year) and of course charged me delivery fees, taxes, etc etc. They agreed to remove those fees as well. This earned them another star. Today I received a bill for over $200 for tank rent - so yet another call to the office to get my bill squared away. They did remove the fee, but I'm so tired of having to call for every single bill because something is wrong about it. My previous recommendation stands - do whatever you can to buy your own tank! Then you can shop around and pick the company with the best price at every fill. That being said, the new local management does seem to want to do what's right and was willing to work with me on my issues.

Absolutely useless…read more Their website says you can schedule deliveries around your life. And yet I received a delivery on a day when I explicitly stated I could not be there because I would be at the hospital. The website says they'll do a leak test and ensure all of your appliances are hooked up correctly. The rep on the phone is Sure they wouldn't deliver without doing the leak test... But they didn't check my appliances, because they were in my house. Which was locked Because I was at the hospital and not at home. So nothing works. And no one is calling me back. And no one is fixing a thing. Guarantee I get a bill for it though.

Five stars just for the resident store cat greeting shoppers near the aisles, but the customer…read moreservice in plumbing is what really made this trip stand out. We came in needing a replacement toilet gasket, which can get confusing fast once you are staring at a wall of slightly different sizes and materials. An employee named Andre was in the middle of completing another task down the aisle, but he stopped what he was doing without hesitation to help us out. Instead of just pointing at a shelf and walking off, Andre took the time to ask about our setup and walked us through what to look for so we didn't end up buying the wrong one and making a second trip. That kind of practical, proactive advice saved us a massive headache once we got home to install it. Huge thanks to Andre for going out of his way--and definitely keep an eye out for the friendly store kitty when you visit!

I recently had to visit this Lowe's because my usual location was out of stock of quite a few of…read morethe things I needed, and I'm honestly so glad I made the trip! I was pleasantly surprised to find everything I was looking for, plus so many other things I didn't even know Lowe's carried. They had totes in different colors, ( Pink ) and I ended up picking up four mini totes. I had no idea Lowe's carried them, and I thought they were absolutely adorable! I also have to give THIS Lowe's major credit for having one of the BEST plant sections I've seen at a Lowe's. The variety was great, but what really stood out to me was how incredibly lush and well cared for everything was. I honestly don't understand how every Lowe's can seemingly source from many of the same growers, ( Costa Farms ) yet the plant sections can look so completely different from store to store. This location was doing something RIGHT! There wasn't a single area where plants were sitting in standing water or obviously being overwatered. I didn't see gnats or little bugs flying around everywhere, and at the same time, I wasn't seeing plants that were completely dried out and struggling because they needed water. Everything looked healthy, vibrant, and genuinely cared for. As someone who loves plants, I really appreciated seeing a garden center that was clearly being maintained instead of just having plants sitting there waiting to be purchased. The store itself was clean, organized, and easy to shop. I used the self checkout, and I also want to give a special shoutout to Zadia in the self checkout area. She was incredibly helpful, attentive, and genuinely willing to assist whenever needed. Great customer service definitely deserves to be recognized! And then there's FRANCINE. There is nothing more RVA than a Lowe's cat becoming an entire citywide community project! If you know, you know. Francine has apparently been shipped out before, and the whole city rallied together to make sure she made it back home. Now she lives at Lowe's, seems completely happy and comfortable, and even has an AirTag! Everyone who came through the store seemed to know exactly who she was, and practically everyone I saw walk past her stopped to take a picture or say hello. She was clearly very loved and well taken care of, and honestly, seeing her just made the whole experience that much better. Overall, I had a really great experience at this Lowe's. I found everything I came for, discovered some cute things I wasn't expecting, got to admire one of the best maintained Lowe's plant sections I've seen, received great customer service, and got to meet the local celebrity Francine. Definitely a Lowe's I'll be visiting again!
