The car was very clean, felt almost new, and had great air conditioning. I would book with them again. The one thing to keep in mind is that Mexico requires you to get additional insurance above what you pay for your reservation as insurance from the states doesn't cover your car rental. I didn't know this at first, but wanted to share the information, but Budget has several great options for this that they review with you when you get there.

When we arrived, one of the guys started talking to us and said he recognized us from our hotel in Cancun. He had a whole story of how he and his sister had just started this side business. Of course, we put our guard down at this point. They walked us over to their shop and started trying to sell us jewelry while they were getting the golf cart. Once the cart arrived, they took my husband to another shop, where he paid for the cart and we were on our way. In my research of the carts, I saw some charged by the day and others by the hour. I asked my husband how much it ended up being and he told me $350!!!! The norm is $75, which he had no idea. Since we had already left, and were half way to the south side of the island, we decided we would get it cleared up when we got back. When we got back, and confronted them, they continued to dodge us and go in and out of different buildings, hiding, literally. Finally agreed to give us 1500 pesos back, which is still a fraction of what they overcharged us. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. We obviously learned our lessons from this incident.
