There was plenty of space to hang out, a full kitchen with fridge, a cowboy style pool, and a gas grill, if you're the type to make dinner yourself. They were very quick to respond to questions while we were there. While we didn't use their room service or fire pit, all of those things are a nice extra touch. It was also easy to let ourselves in and out with the automatic lock, so we never had to worry about keys or being locked out. I would stay here again if I were to go back! Lovely stay.

Man I wish I knew where I could write a review for others, but I went through booking and I'm not…read moresure how that works. So here I will explain and give my honest input. I planned to arrive earlier but I was late :( though it seemed like everyone was in bed already we had the nice host come up to us and guide us on checking in. He let us know that we are IN FACT able to park the car on the drive way close to the location so you don't have to carry your stuff to your spot.. designated parking in my opinion is actually very smart and very thoughtful because who wants to see a bunch of parked cars in such a nice view?! So I got the tiny home container.. and let me just say IT WAS THE BEST THING I HAD EVER DONE! I actually didn't know which one of the containers I booked but the one I got was the best one! Everything and I mean everything was included. Fridge, microwave, coffee maker, AND ac!!!! The roof top? BEST FREAKING PART! Watching the sunset was amazing solo time. As well as watching all the stars you never get to see in the city. The bathroom had shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Towels were provided, pillows and sheets. I mean these people thought of it all! They are very clear about their instructions and how they want things done upon checkout and it was smooth.. I guess my ONLY "thumbs down" would be the center pool. I personally liked it.. it's a shallow sit down cool down tub and it works for when you just want to dive and sun bathe. Other than that, I have nothing negative to say. I really enjoyed my stay. And if you're someone who doesn't go camping or even glamping, don't stay in a yurt? When it's hot it's HOT when it's cold it's COLD.. it's not rocket science. Choose wisely if you want to enjoy your stay and really unwind. Overall, I 150% will be back and stay here in case I need a moment to reset my brain.

We only stayed for one night but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Check-in instructions were sent via email and there's a code to unlock the room. The grounds are very pretty, perfect for a desert wedding or party. There are great views all around and there aren't any neighbors nearby. It looks like they own a lot of acreage nearby. The room we stayed in was the Onyx room. It was beautifully and thoughtfully decorated. There are lots of nice additions in the room to ensure you enjoy staying in from wine glasses, a wine fridge, record player with a record collection, bath salts, star gazing area outside with a mattress, and comfy robes and slippers to use during your stay. If it were warmer, I definitely would've tried out the outdoor tub and shower but it was too cold at night to even think about it. There's also a large community pool in the works. As mentioned earlier, this hotel is about a mile from the NP so it's an excellent choice for anyone going there. It's also not too far from town so you're not too far from stores and cafes. I am definitely planning on staying here again!

At night you can see every star in the sky and the breathtaking piled-up rock mountains are footsteps from your front door. Cons: -Its not completely private. It is mostly private (75/25?) but it is connected to the owners house and you get reminded of this occasionally hearing conversations or noises at night from that side. -After an ant issue (heat wave) the owner asked to come in one day which we agreed to, but on our last day we came home and found him coming out, which was not agreed upon. I kind of get it but you should always give a heads up. -The bed is not a mattress and box-spring combo but it is on wheels and springs which can make awful noise and is not very comfortable Summary; Beautiful location with great star viewing, Basic necessities covered in the studio, wish it were completely private with a different bed. Depending on the rate when we want to go we would be pretty likely to look in to staying again.

We ended up loving the place and Joshua Tree park, so we stayed longer. Villa Rocosa seems the perfect size for a weekend escape for two. The layout is very open - a bar separates the kitchen from the living room which doubles as bedroom with a Murphy bed - and the living room wall is built into a formation of rocks that bring the outside in. It gives you a sense of being in the Mojave (with the comfort of a Swamp cooler!) There is a small TV and a selection of movies on DVD, although you'll probably want to spend your time watching the small animals outside (like the curious Greater Roadrunner who came within a few feet of my wife as she was sunbathing...) And there is free WiFi, so you can post all your pics of Joshua Tree in the evening after your hikes :) The small refrigerator was roomy enough to stock food for the entire time we were there (we only ate out once - at Royal Siam... decent Thai food). There are grocery stores, a Walmart, etc. and Gas/Convenience stores nearby. The entrance to Joshua Tree National Park is just a few miles up the road, so it is very convenient for any hiking or off-road trips you might want to do. The dirt road leading to the house is definitely rocky/bumpy at certain points. In our Jeep it was nothing, but if you have a smaller car, you'll probably feel it. The house and the area are very quiet... and the stars at night, amazing! This is definitely a great spot for getting away from it all. We took advantage and did some songwriting. But regardless of what you want to do, it's definitely a quiet little place to get away and relax. Over all, a very good experience. We like it so much, we've already booked our next trip to discover the Sky House! (...and hit the dusty Joshua Tree trails we couldn't get to this last trip).

It's hidden in the hills in a residential neighborhood and looked rather small from the outside. But as you enter, it opens up to a very nice, open pool and garden oasis. There aren't many rooms, as it is a more intimate type Resort. All of them are ground level and surround the main pool areas. I stayed in a suite which had a private patio with a stone tub so you can have your own personal mineral bath. The room was very clean, not a lot of amenities, but it did have a small kitchenette and a very cool record player complete with records to play. There are three mineral pools. One is smaller with jets and has a higher temperature than the other two. There's another bigger one that serves as a swimming pool with a lower temperature. And the third one is enclosed with a medium temperature. As you walk further through the garden and down some stone steps, you will reach a small spa that has various rooms for treatments. There is also a dry sauna, showers, and an infrared sauna on the outside. This one was my favorite because the glass doors face the garden. It was very Zen. The massage therapist were very good. Thank you to Landon and Andrew for that. I really appreciated the intimacy of the Resort and all of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Mel was especially helpful and kind. I left the Resort feeling very relaxed and at peace. I will definitely return.

I found this cute little resort outside of the heart of Palm Springs. Why did I choose The Spring Resort? I LOVE the heat and I LOVE hot springs! The resort is not huge but has three mineral pools, a large open air pool, medium size dipping pool and smaller hot tub. All naturally hot and restoring. The rooms are peaceful without TVs but still have WiFi available. Robes and slippers are also in the rooms along with a mini fridge that was in the closet. The pools and towels are available 24/7. When we visited average outside temp was 110 degrees. We didn't lay out like lizards during the day and opted for cooler quiet late night relaxing pool time. We had the pools to ourselves and it was so peaceful! The medium size pool that was indoors was the perfect temp for me and I enjoyed it very much! They offer a light breakfast option of healthy cereals, oats, hard boiled eggs, toast with juice, tea, or coffee. The resort is very chill and peaceful. We noticed a bachelorette/birthday gathering during our stay. They were a bit loud, slightly obnoxious, but I guess that is what happens when you gather a group of girls for a spa day. The resort also offers day passes to enjoy the hot springs. We were surprised one morning to find guests outside our room already sprawled out on the chaise lounge chairs. We didn't mind since we were going to spend the day out exploring the downtown area. So claim your spots early! The staff is friendly and helpful. The office has items for sale to enhance your stay like mineral soaps, lotions, bath items, and swimwear just in case you forgot to pack them. They have parking right outside of the resort and street parking. The best part for us, they offer electric vehicle charging, a single spot, worked out perfectly for us! Score! 2025: 57

Review for Hicksville Trailer Palace Rating:…read more Hicksville Trailer Palace is definitely an experience. It's a great spot if you're looking for something unique in the Joshua Tree area, but there are a few things you should know before you head out into the desert. The Arrival & Check-In Getting here can be a bit of a puzzle. If you follow your GPS to the provided address, it will likely take you to Foxy Flats Road. The HTP directions suggest a different route but aren't the clearest. Pro Tip: Drive past Foxy Flats until you hit the stop sign, then take a left on Boarder and another left on La Brisa. If you have a truck or SUV, don't bother going the extra mile. Foxy Flats is bumpy in places but not that bad. Once we arrived around 7:00 PM, the vibe was a little awkward. Check-in is technically 3:00 PM - 10:00 PM, but the innkeeper, Jessica, seemed a bit put out that we didn't arrive earlier. It wasn't the warmest welcome, which set a bit of a rough tone for the start of the trip. The Stay & Maintenance The property itself is showing some age. We ran into a few maintenance hiccups during our stay: Lighting: We had a blown bulb in the bathroom (Jessica did fix this quickly once reported). Plumbing: We had no hot water initially. When we finally figured out how it worked, we found that there were only 2 settings: scalding and freezing. At least it was better than having to use the communal shower and toilet that most guests have to share. Overall Condition: You can tell there's been a general decline in the upkeep of the property and some of the equipment. The Highlights (The "Fun" Factor) Despite the rough start, the "Palace" shines when it comes to activities. It's 21+ and dog-friendly, which makes for a very chill, adult-playground atmosphere. We had a blast exploring the quirky amenities: Activities: Archery, BB guns, shuffleboard, and mini-golf. Games: Ping pong, darts, and a ball pit. Relaxation: A pool, hot tub, fire pits, and a cute little library. Final Verdict Is it worth it? If you want a one-of-a-kind, kitschy desert experience, it's worth staying once. It's fun, quirky, and full of personality, but just go in with managed expectations regarding the service and the "wear and tear" of the grounds.

Looking back, it seems like Sunset Terrace or Rio House might have been a better choice for us. Quail Crossing is described on Moonlight Mesa's website as their "most secluded rental" so I expected some major seclusion but there were quite a few neighbors within a short distance. I suppose it's like saying I am the tallest of the three Asian girls but it still doesn't necessarily mean I'm tall. Get it? Unfortunately, the weather was not very good the two nights we were there. We were only able to enjoy the beautiful outdoor space the first afternoon when we arrived. After that, it rained and was ridiculously windy. When the rain finally cleared up, it was 40 degrees outside so we spent the majority of the weekend indoors. Parts of the house reminded me a little too much of Ikea. However, I do have to say that the house was very well equipped. It had all the condiments and spices you need for cooking, tons of toys for kids, lots of DVDs for entertainment, and all the miscellaneous items you don't realize you need until you do like extra paper to make shopping lists, tape, and even a martini shaker. Each of the bathrooms had hair dryers and flat irons and although you had to bring your own shampoo and conditioner, they provided body wash. Also, Christa was very easy to work with and responsive by email. I would recommend Moonlight Mesa Retreats to anyone looking for a reliable, comfortable, and clean rental in Joshua Tree.
