Sara not only was nice and helpful, she was professional as well, she even gave me a van that had less than 3,000 miles on it.

Another amazing rental experience with Avis, this time st the Burlington airport. Upon arrival at…read morethe rental car counters, it was very easy to locate them. There was one person working, but I only had to wait about a minute to see him. I provided him my DL to look up my reservation. He handed me the key in a minute, and provided the instructions on where to pick up the car and how to return it. I also got two class free upgrade for being a Avis President Club member. Upon reaching the designated spot, our car was there, totally clean and full gas tank. The car was in pretty good condition. We used the car for 3 days without any issues. For return, I took the car back to Avis' designated area. I took the keys back to the counter and handed over the key. That was all I had to do. It was such an easy no hassle process. I received my receipt in the email couple of hours later.

We arrive this Saturday before Christmas early in the morning. The guy working was pretty grumpy. I was hoping for a warm greeting, but he was kind of cold, which is fine I guess, but just his manners and phrasing were a bit offputting. Basically, here's the car take it or leave it. The car was nice enough a jeep compass with 4 x 4, which was good in the snow however, we were staying at a ski resort an hour away and one of the tires kept losing pressure. So this was constantly on my mind we went to fill the tire and luckily we found somebody nearby who is super nice but what we did find is that tire definitely had a slow leak Another tire which we filled up actually had the pin pushed in so once that tire was filled apparently the guy had a screw on adapter to make it work. We left that tire alone, but the other tire definitely had to slow leak and we were wondering if we were gonna make it back. I called Avis the first night or the second morning we were there and basically the choices were. The guy would come get it and tow it back as the car had no spare or we could drive it an hour each way to get a new car if they even had one.

Because I know it's a busy time of year, I called and confirmed the rental with Alamo 2 days prior. When we arrived at BTV they had a handwritten note at the counter stating that all one way rentals and any other reservations made within 48 hours were cancelled. I waited in line and spoke to 2 separate agents. One was beyond apathetic. The other told me I must have booked through third party. I did not and assured her we booked direct through Alamo and showed her the booking (which was also in their system). They told me they didn't have enough cars to honor our rental. She suggested I call Uhaul. This created a terrible challenge and endless hours of trying to find a solution. Alamo - If you can't honor a reservation, then don't make it. Its shameful.

I rented at the Burlington airport location to drive to a contract job in Newport, VT (2 hours away). The car they gave me had a slow leak in the drivers front tire. I was 30 minutes from the airport when I noticed. I tried calling the airport as well as emailing the "Management Trainee" Lindsay Rogers, as she told me emailing is the faster way to get a response. I called first with no answer then emailed about 2PM. I stopped at a gas station, paid $2 for air and filled up the tire to continue my drive to Newport. It's now 9:18PM, I have been trying to reach someone to get the tire taken care of. The rental office doesn't answer the phone and Alamo Roadside Assistance can't seem to be able to find anyone to change the tire for my spare. Alamos customer service solution is to send a towtruck to pick up my rental with the leaking tire AND an UBER to pick me up and take me back to the Burlington airport (a 2 hour ride) to pick up a replacement rental car that I then get to drive 2 hours back to Newport where I am working for the week. All this AFTER I wait until possibly 2AM for the tow truck to show up to pick up my rental. I will NEVER rent from Alamo, Dollar or Enterprise again.

While renting a vehicle for a family emergency in September 2025, thieves cut the catalytic converter out of my partner's Subaru Baja in their parking lot. The manager's response? "This is a known problem" followed by a dismissive attitude and zero support. Enterprise continues to invite customers to leave vehicles in what their own staff admits is a high-theft area. No warnings. No security improvements. No accountability. After dozens of rentals from this location over the years, I'm shocked at how poorly they handled this. Corporate also ignored multiple follow-up attempts. Protect your vehicle - rent from a company that actually cares about customer safety.

It took the collision center (who is affiliated with Enterprise) much longer than anticipated so I was stuck with this rental for longer than expected. During this time, I was on the interstate and a small rock chipped the windshield no larger than a pin head. I called Enterprise immediately and reported the chip and I was told that it should not be a problem and that they would reach out to me if it was. When my personal car was finally completed I returned the car back to Enterprise and not one person mentioned the chip nor informed me that I was responsible for fixing the chip. I then receive a bill in the mail months later stating that I owe 500 dollars for this small chip that I was told wouldn't be a problem. They replaced the whole windshield and I did not get a call at all stating that it was in need of being fixed, nor did they let me know that the whole entire windshield needed to be replaced. If I received that call, I would have attempted to find a much cheaper option. I called and attempted to dispute this without success. I reached out to billing and they stated I could set up a payment plan. I submitted a payment and then proceeded to receive a letter stating that my bill has gone to collections. I called inquiring what went wrong and they agreed that the person I spoke too at a previous date should have given me a time line and that they did not, resulting in my bill going to collections. They then stated that there was nothing they could do about this situation but that I was "more than welcome to submit the full payment now". This whole process has been extremely frustrating on top of the already stressful situation of being rear ended and I am very disappointed in the service I have received.

I had an Enterprise employee verbally antagonize me while trying to return a vehicle, professionalism and kindness are severely lacking in all but one employee I've encountered so far, and most recently - even though I have status, they are refusing to give me a decent vehicle bc my corporate booked a longer term vehicle. I honestly don't get it. I've never ever, in literally the last three years had such terrible service and interactions. In fact, out of all the things you regularly book when traveling, I've always been able to depend on National. It always worked out and everyone - all over this country, had been kind and accommodating. This location is pathetic and I truly hope someone outside of the local branch reaches out to me. I don't want anything, I just want my experience not to be so stressful.

Despite the fact that every staff member has the title of "Manager", the level of professionalism is appalling. They refuse to honor the Emerald line of vehicles, are ignorant about their own corporate policies, admit that they refuse to answer to the phone and will bill your credit card without issuing an invoice or receipt 30 days after closing your rental agreement. Morgan Galdezanni, a "Manager" confiscated the keys for my rental, which was under a valid agreement from the local Enterprise location. She only returned my keys to me, after I called Customer Service and sought the assistance of airpot police. The head "Manager" Jason, canceled rental agreements , placed me on a no-rent list and attempted to claim I did not return my vehicle. He also refused to answer communications from corporate. My advice is take photos, emails and video when interacting with them. If they place you on a no-rent list without proof, make a BBB report. The District Manager is in Albany, his name is Steven - he will contact you. I chose to forgo my Emerald status just to avoid having to deal with them. The local Enterprise location, just a few minutes away has a professional manager and team - Go with them if you can.

I had reserved the "Managers Deal" special and I explicitly told the manager the location I would be driving to and even noted I'd be driving deeper in throughout my trip. The forecast called for heavy snow for at least two out of four days of my trip. Despite this, I was knowingly assigned what I think was the smallest vehicle in the row of the car pick-up section, Nissan Versa, which is a two wheel compact vehicle. This was a conscious decision that ignored both common sense and customer safety. Predictably, the vehicle underperformed in these winter conditions. It got stuck in a parking spot due to snow, and I had to physically push the car myself out of the spot to be able to get going. A rental car that cannot even escape a parking spot in snowy weather is beyond unacceptable, it's dangerous. This location manager showed zero concern for safety, zero concern about accountability, and shockingly poor judgement. Assigning an inadequate vehicle under these conditions put me and my wife at risk and should never happen at a professional rental agency. The lack of care from management strongly suggests profit over convenience come before customer safety. I will strongly resist renting from Dollar again and I strongly warn others to avoid this Dollar location, especially if you're traveling in winter conditions or expect a manager to make responsible, informed vehicle assignments. This was careless, negligent, and completely avoidable.
