He handed me the key in a minute, and provided the instructions on where to pick up the car and how to return it. I also got two class free upgrade for being a Avis President Club member. Upon reaching the designated spot, our car was there, totally clean and full gas tank. The car was in pretty good condition. We used the car for 3 days without any issues. For return, I took the car back to Avis' designated area. I took the keys back to the counter and handed over the key. That was all I had to do. It was such an easy no hassle process. I received my receipt in the email couple of hours later.

The cars are just a short 5 minute walk to the end of the airport and across the street (or second floor bridge walk) to the parking/car rental lots. The service here was friendly but it's one where you must see an agent. There are no kiosks which to me I love because I can be in and out within 2 minutes and I don't need to listen to the high pressure sales pitch for insurance and other extras. I just want the car without the 20 questions. The car was clean and I didn't have any issues with the rental. I had a 6:30am flight so I returned the car about 5:30am which means there was nobody at this location. So, you park the car, fill out the info form and drop off the keys at the counter. It was easy enough but I didn't get an instant receipt which is another feature I love with Alamo. (They give you a receipt on the spot typically). A manger reached out to ask about my experience so I informed them extra coverage was added and asked if they could look into it, to which they said they would. She told me that she doesn't know which stall the car was parked in, but to just hit the panic button on the key fob when I get to the parking garage. I was given a black Jeep Compass. I looked at the license plate on the key tag and was able to locate it without having to use that panic button. Since I was traveling solo, it was a bit more car than what I had reserved or needed. Although it had over 30k miles on it, it still drove perfectly fine for the duration of my trip. On my way home, I gassed up the car and parked it in an Avis/Budget stall. I noted both the stall and the mileage. When I dropped off the keys at the counter, the guy didn't seem to want either information. All he asked was if I had filled up the tank. I like visiting small towns, but sometimes they're a bit too nonchalant compared to what I've been accustomed to while living in a big city.

I had reserved the "Managers Deal" special and I explicitly told the manager the location I would be driving to and even noted I'd be driving deeper in throughout my trip. The forecast called for heavy snow for at least two out of four days of my trip. Despite this, I was knowingly assigned what I think was the smallest vehicle in the row of the car pick-up section, Nissan Versa, which is a two wheel compact vehicle. This was a conscious decision that ignored both common sense and customer safety. Predictably, the vehicle underperformed in these winter conditions. It got stuck in a parking spot due to snow, and I had to physically push the car myself out of the spot to be able to get going. A rental car that cannot even escape a parking spot in snowy weather is beyond unacceptable, it's dangerous. This location manager showed zero concern for safety, zero concern about accountability, and shockingly poor judgement. Assigning an inadequate vehicle under these conditions put me and my wife at risk and should never happen at a professional rental agency. The lack of care from management strongly suggests profit over convenience come before customer safety. I will strongly resist renting from Dollar again and I strongly warn others to avoid this Dollar location, especially if you're traveling in winter conditions or expect a manager to make responsible, informed vehicle assignments. This was careless, negligent, and completely avoidable.
