First time here, our friend wanted to do karaoke and this was the closest to us so we went here. Parking is plentiful, you walk in they ID you (I believe it's 21 + only) they have pool tables as you walk in, darts, karaoke towards the back, the bar, and more pool tables. It was a pretty huge place, didn't like that it was too smoky in there though hence the 3 stars. The bartenders were efficient and made our drinks great so 5+ stars to them. Loved that they have signage it the women's restroom cubicle for safety reasons. It was fun to see the folks doing karaoke, some can carry on a tune and others, well they were fun to watch lol! I've checked out Reno's twice over the years. They're located in a shopping center so parking won't be an issue though it does get pretty busy. As you walk in, Reno is a long bar. First, you'll pass by a bunch of pool tables before reaching a bar. Walk past the bar and you have sit-down seating and karaoke. Plus a couple of more pool tables. Reno's is a neighborhood bar and the drinks are pretty affordable compared to what you would pay in Houston. They have specials like $4 Fireball shots too. Overall, it's a decent spot to hang out though not really my speed as I'm not big on karaoke. read more

Reno's is good for what it is - a dive karaoke bar. Entry is free for those of age, and $20 for those who are under 21. Usually it is $10, but prices have increased since Covid. The drinks are reasonably priced, and if you come in a good night you can get a well drink for only $2. They have pool tables if you want to play a quick game and people love to sing here! read more

I never have a problem with this business, however, I was there two nights ago and I only got ONE double and closed my tab. My tab was $10 and I tipped $2. I very clearly signed AND CIRCLED both receipts with the total equaling $12. I do this everywhere because I have been burned by restaurants before adjusting my tip and trying to write in things I did not put. I have tried to contact Reno's twice now, even the night it happened and no answer. So I guess enjoy my other $8. Not that big of a deal to me money wise just thought I would give a heads up to others that if you don't tip what they think they deserve then they will just adjust it without your consent. If they pulled my receipt they would clearly see that my tab should've been $12 total. Sigh. Won't be going back. read more

I decided to check this local Karaoke place out. A roomy place .... Very deceiving in size from the street view. Yes, the smoking is definitely a down fall ... the place could greatly benefit from installing smoke eaters like most bowling alleys. The Karaoke ... if you're looking for good quality karaoke, there's probably better quality options nearby, but everyone seems to have fun and that's a big part of karaoke. I think I heard one decent singer tonight. The Kj is just average. The sound is good. The lighting around the singers is not good. Very dark and it should emphasize the singers. It does not. The ownership should enclose the two larger old 1990's gigantic TVs used as singer monitors; major eye sores for a relatively nice stage. They have a nice big lyrics monitor for the audience. Finally, they have a huge dancefloor that basically goes unused. Install some center stage and other dancefloor lights and encourage people to get up and dance! The KJ is very bland and does not know how to work an audience and does not promote to wait-staff or bar. Lots of gaming and pool tables. A little tight between each table but manageable. Staff is friendly and plentiful, however I sat in a highly visible position and it still took 9 minutes to be served. I was walked past about 15-20 times until my server stopped and asked me if I need anything. The place was not very crowded at the time. Drinks were fine. The tap beer was not skunky .... The Zeigenbock was great! I did not have any food, but the pizza looked fresh and good. Finally, the KJ needs to pay more attention to the crowd and singers. No real adjustments when you should upper the sound level, or lower it. I give a 'C', but this place could be an 'A+' with some work. Cheers! read more

Worst karaoke venue I've ever been to. Put in a song at 10 PM, only to leave 3 hours later, having never been called. The karaoke DJ just played whatever song he wanted to hear, regardless of rotation. Bar wasn't even that crowded. Had the same people going up over and over. Terrible karaoke etiquette from the DJ. Not to mention, he pulled up the wrong song time and time again. Don't waste your time at this joke of a karaoke bar. Your chances of getting to sing are slim to none. read more

A good place to get some drinks/ pitcher and play some pool while you sing your heart out or listen to those that shouldn't with an occasional surprise of a good performance lol. They have a few dart machines and couple other arcade games also. Drinks prices aren't bad. read more

I've always loved Reno's it's close by and even if I go alone I always end up meeting cool people while out. I've been about 3 times in the past 4 months and I've made friends every time. Karaoke starts at 9:30, it fills up fast. People put in a lot of requests. Sometimes you may not be able to sing but the anxiety of waiting for your name still gets me. In door smoking, your clothing will reek of it. May even need to wash it by itself a time or two to get the smell out. I've never had the staff confront me about having too much to drink. Though I was with someone at their table that i'd been talking to and they brought her 2 different waters. They thought she'd had too much to drink. They didn't make her leave though. And she got free water lol. Singing ranges from yelling goats, to "that person was on the voice but didn't quite make it" as you'd expect from any karaoke bar, you go to have fun not show off... unless you're good then you're going to do both. Had the food here once but probably wont again. I'd imagine it was a tostinos pizza I may have over paid for. Next time i'll just have to stop at the mcdonalds off 518 for some french fries on my way home. Haven't ever played pool or darts there but i'd imagine its the same as any other place. Quite large with one set of bathrooms by the bar for single use, or if you walk out by the back have a stalled bathroom area with three urinals for the guys, As you'd expect the bathroom is kinda gross... people missing their aim, I'd imagine that a lot of people close one eye to try and see straight... just be careful wear some non slick shoes when you go here... I wouldn't show up before 9 though unless you just want to be there... and look weird, unless you go with a friend, I tend to go by myself. It doesn't really pick up and get really busy until like 10-1030 or so. I look forward to going back again really soon. read more

I used to go here when it first opened, and you could do three songs in a row. I recently moved back to the area, and even if you turn in a batch of songs right when the karaoke opens, you will have a very long wait. Last night, I waited almost an hour and a half and saw the same people get to go more than once. I finally just left because the smoke was too heavy. The time before that, I waited more than two hours to sing my second song. I think I may have been removed from the queue because I was asked to come sing along with another person because when it looped back around to the person who was ahead of me I was skipped and the person who followed me was up next. I really wish you could sing in the order you put your songs in. It was really fun when you could do up to three in a row. If I had known that I was only going to get to sing one, then I would have picked the one I really wanted instead of a warm up song. It's really, really smoky. If you have asthma, stay away. This place has degenerated exponentially in the last 5 years!! My friends and I used to karaoke here frequently, but stopped due to the disgusting cigarette smoke. We decided to try it again tonight because we were looking for a last minute place to karaoke. Sadly, it was full of Clear Lake's trash and was so smoke ridden that my daughter threw up in the bathroom before we ever had a chance to sing...or even drink. We were there less than 10 minutes when a piece of the bar trash...um...staff brought over a bottle of water and told her she was cut-off. Whaaaaat!?! You can't spit in this place without hitting someone who has a warrant out for their arrest...or celebrating their release from prison...and they felt it necessary to call-out my daughter! Based solely on pool... this place sucks, well the tables suck. The is worn on all tables, there's one table with multiple rips in the felt, there one table with duct tape in the felt. Sooooo smokey. If you have allergies or are allergic to smoke proceed with caution. During the week isn't so bad but I made the mistake of going on the weekend and my eyes were watering and my nose was tingling. I don't really play pool or karaoke but it's a fun place to hang out with friends. They'll even let 18+ enter the establishment (but not drink of course). So if you have a group of friends where half are able to and want to drink and half who aren't 21 yet, it's a fun place to play pool and listen to some great karaoke. Reno's is a mixed bag for me. It's a little smoky, like others have stated, but that doesn't bother me much at bars. You can still breathe here, but if you want a smoke-free bar, this isn't for you. There are ample pool tables. Even on a busy Friday night it won't take very long to score a table if that's your thing. The cues and tables are in pretty good condition. Reno's is appropriately divey, so everybody's somebody here, like Luckenbach, lol. The drinks are cheaper than most places. Strangers are mostly courteous and friendly. The bartenders and other workers here are funny and friendly, too. And if you don't feel like dressing up too much to go out, no one seems to care much here. There are long folding tables where you can sit down and drink and chat with whoever is nearby. I like that setup. The karaoke setup here is rather good, and there's a dance floor. Unfortunately, the music itself leaves a lot to be desired. I'm not a huge country fan, and almost every song they did here the Friday night I last visited was a slow country ballad, and I was nodding off. The same two chunky girls with cracking off-key voices sitting on stools seemed to get a lot of stage time, despite the fact that people were cringing at their lame caterwauling. I've visited before in the middle of the week, and there were singers who could actually carry a tune with some force and stage presence, and not just sitting on stools butchering country songs; they stood up and did rock and R&B that was danceable. So I guess when it comes to the music here you're rolling the dice. So there you go. If this sounds like your kind of place, you'll probably love it. I was at renos last night with a group of friends and it was okay . We got there kinda early so it was quiet. After 10 pm is started getting packed. But didn't affect our seating or pool table. This bar is tucked away in the Garden Ridge shopping center. The first time I came I almost missed it and I was looking! Once inside though it is much larger than you would expect. They have plenty of pool tables as well as seating, although some of it looked a little shady (ie- super old couches...). So what's the appeal? The karaoke of course! This bar is great for people watching too seeing as how many different types of people all converge here for some good old fashioned karaoke. You just can't go wrong with that! The only downside to this place is the actual bar, where service is extremely lacking (slow & no smiles) but this is definitely my favorite karaoke place in the good ol' CL. read more

Went here for a bday party last night. We had a good spot in the back , plenty of room for lots of food ( we brought our own food, sandwiches, dips, crock pots, cake) we were with someone that worked there so idk if that's why cold bring so much food. Regardless that was cool. The bar tenders were all very friendly and were very quick to serve. And the place is HUGE! Drinks were a really great price. I'm from downtown so it was nice to not have to pay an arm and a leg for a drink. The karaoke was actually cools lots of good singers there was a lot of pool tables. They were in good condition. The bar is very very smoky though. I feel like my eyes still hurt and my throat feels like I smoked a pack by myself. So I didn't enjoy that part. The furniture could be better but I'm not complaining. The guys in the front were not very nice. We were with a large party and was helped thrown by someone that works there. The girl that worked there told us someone had reserved us a pool table for an hour and to go get the pool sticks and balls from the front. We had a table near us that had a "reserved" sign on it near our table so that was nice. But when we went to the front they were telling us about prices and wanted our ID. We told him it was under the persons name who was throwing the party and they looked in the list and was like nah not here give me your ID and you'll have to pay later. We tried to explain about how the guy throwing the party was paying for everything and to put it on his tab and they just weren't getting it and continued to be very rude. We just gave him the id and took the stuff. After an hour we returned it and he wanted us to pay and we tried to explain to put it under the guys name who was throwing the party and they still didn't get it and continued to be rude. So we walked all the way back to our table in the way back, got the guys card came back to the front and gave it to the guy. He goes we gotta go to the bar with this to pay. So we go to the bar and the girl says oh we already have a tAb open for this guy I'll charge it under that. THATS WHAT WE WERE TRYING TO DO THE WHOLE TIME LIKE OMG. Usually we have a pretty good time, but this last time we went was incredibly uncomfortable. We brought our 20 year old friend to be our designated driver and the staff immediately treated her horribly. She at no point tried to even pretend she was of age. The rest of the night there was a "gentle"man that followed us around and intently stared at her while we were all having a good time. Only downside to this place is the smoke... If that's something that really bothers you, I'd say stay clear of Reno's. Other than that, the people are always super nice and take good care of their customers. You can sit at the bar, play pool, sing karaoke or watch the game on tv. Reno's really offers everything a big-name bar or pool-hall does, except it's much more affordable and more comfortable for a night out without bass bumping music or girls in skimpy dresses and sky high heels.
