He hyped the place up to have incredible food, "not bar food ". Had fish and chips. Fries average but fish texture and taste was of frozen fish plank from TV dinner. No cocktail sauce either. The big screen doesn't work, the tvs are small. The game was on one small tv and no sound. When we asked for the sound and more tvs to show the game it was like we were inconveniencing her. The fans were on full blast, everyone was bundled up, so uncomfortably cold. When we asked for the fans to be either turned down or off, she said which one do you want? Another couple said off, it is freezing in here! There is a good part, the food! It is amazing! Had the duck wings, they are delicious, but an order only has three wings. The fries and dipping sauce were so good! The disco fries were hot, crispy, and tasty! The charcuterie board was a nice surprise! This place has so much potential, they need nice, friendly bartenders and bigger tvs!

You just don't see that often and I wanted to try it. The stars aligned and my family and I met up here for a weeknight dinner. Alvin is the true definition of a small town. It is just south of Pearland and life moves a little slower out here. Atleast for time being as it is becoming more developed now. The building itself is old and full of character. Everyone seemed to know each other. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, but service was a tad bit slow at times. My family isn't a big drinking family so we stuck with water and sodas, but they have quite a nice bar program here. They have a really impressive beer selection, a long list of specialty cocktails and lots of wine to choose from. I'm definitely coming back to check that out without the fam. For appetizers, we got an order of the scotch eggs and the Bavarian pretzel sticks. This was my first introduction to scotch eggs and a wonderful one at that. You really can't go wrong with anything wrapped in sausage and deep friend. It was a nice treat and something I will not be sharing next time. The pretzels were also very good. Our waitress suggested some cheese sauce to accompany those. These sticks of goodness were excellent. For my entree, I was stuck on a few items as their menu is pretty extensive. Our waitress said my option for the Pork Milanesa was the way to go, so I did. I've had milanesa at Mexican restaurants, but never in a tavern nor prepared this way. This was hand battered in panko and then topped with a mushroom gravy. It comes with broccoli and mashed potatoes but I substituted the veggie for mac and cheese. This dish was very good and the portions were very generous. Enough for me to have a full second meal minus the sides. The pork was thinly pounded and kept it's crunch even doused in gravy. The gravy was rich and very delicious. My family got a mix of items like the philly cheese steak, flat iron steak salad, tavern salad, and chicken fried steak. For research purposes and for my loyal readers, I tried everything. There wasn't anything that was bad to me. We were full so desserts didn't happen on this trip. Overall, Gordon Street Tavern is a solid spot that I would happily return to if in the area.

I've been a resident of Clear Lake for about a year now, and happen in here about once a week. Every single day they have a deal on beer specials: $2.50 domestics and discounted pitchers, and $3 Blue Moon specials on Friday nights (I think that's right). But you'll have a great time not only spending little, but enjoying cool draft beers. Every now and then they'll also have some events with live music, outside festivities, and guest people who will cook some good food. St. Patrick's day is also an annual holiday that you'll want to partake in at this place. They also have a Halfway to St. Pat's Day (believe it or not). Come see it for yourself. They also have an outside patio where another bartender is on duty. On a nice day outside, it is the place to be. You can also order food from other restaurants and they'll let you eat it in the bar. The dart board is also cool, although you gotta pay to play it. It is worth it though! Come on to Molly's and see what good things this little neighborhood dive has to offer! All the bartenders are very nice too! You'll be friends with them immediately!
