5/6/26 I came here for lunch as I was in town working and wanted something unique and not from a chain. This restaurant popped up thanks to a little Google and yelp searching. I ordered the grilled chicken wrap and fries. Originally, I wasn't going to get fries but when I learned that it's fried in beef tallow, that was an instant change of mind. So glad to learn that not all restaurants use terrible seed oils. I got my food to go as I was in a rush to hit the road, but the food came out fresh and delicious and I would definitely come back here in the future and sit down next time. The service was quick and friendly, and the ambience inside was very casual and inviting. Definitely a wonderful lunchtime experience for me and I plan to return. read more

We ended up here because there was too long of a wait at Cattlemen's. We were a group of 5, 4 adults and 1 child. The hostess asked if we would be ok with a table for 4 and a chair at the end which wasn't a problem for us. So the group behind us got seated. Then the next group. About 5 minutes later we were seated at a 4 and a 2 top pushed together. We were seated with 3 menus for adults and a child menu, with 4 place settings. When the server greeted us and took our drink order we asked for another menu and place setting. She bought the menu quickly. We placed our drink order, 1 was a half and half tea with lemon. An unsweetened tea was delivered and rather than send it back there was sugar on the table. When the server came for our dinner order, lemon was asked for as well as the other place setting. One of the orders was for Cajun shrimp and rice with a side of sweet potato casserole. When dinner was delivered we asked if we could have that other place setting which was finally brought. The shrimp on the menu says that it's 2 skewers of shrimp. This was 5 shrimp when it was delivered. At this point we just wanted to eat and figured that we weren't coming back and really didn't want to complain. The child ordered the kids Mac and cheese. It was cold so he was given the sweet potato casserole to eat. When the server came back another sweet potato casserole was ordered. When everyone was done eating she came back and said that they were out. I really don't think any of us will ever go back here. I'm only giving it 1 star because I have to at least give one, otherwise I'd not give any. I wish that we had taken a picture of the shrimp dinner to post. Apparently 2 filled skewers of shrimp is 2 1/2 shrimp per skewer. And it's also a premium price. read more

Stopped in for late lunch while working in the area yesterday. It was not crowded at all. I sat at the bar and ordered a beer and a bowl of Reno's Red chili topped with shredded cheese and green onions. The beer on tap was ice cold. My chili arrived in less than 5 minutes and it was piping hot. The food and service were great. They have a pretty good bourbon selection. The only thing I would suggest is that the TV's have sports on them all day, especially in the bar area. Wasn't too thrilled about watching and listening to Judge Judy. read more

Wow. This place is fantastic! I had the sirloin- garlicky delicious I've been to a lot of steakhouses and this is top tier! We also had the chips salsa and cheese! Fab! Ribs were perfection. Service was slow despite only 2 other parties seated. The first basket of rolls we received were drenched in honey and completely inedible so we had to ask for new ones. The food is nothing to write home about. We ordered the nachos (appetizers) and chicken strips with mashed potatoes and sweet potato fries. The mashed potatoes were bland and chunky. The sweet potato fries were dry and burned beyond consumption. I received 4 small pieces of chicken. The meal comes with a sauce for the tenders, however I was charged extra for the sauce. We stopped in Morehead to see some family and grab dinner together. We arrived early so we grabbed a couple drinks at the bar while we waited for them. Our bartender, Gabby, was GREAT! She was familiar with the menu and made great drinks. Turns out, it was only her 3rd day behind the bar. You'd never know she was new. She was extremely personable and even recommended other places for us to try along our travel route. Our food arrived promptly (and correct) and was very good. My steak was cooked to perfection and my husband's ribs were some of the BEST he's ever had. He got a full rack, 1/2-dry rub and 1/2 sauced. He couldn't decide which was better. We travel through often so I hope Gabby is still there the next time we're there. read more

First, I'll start with the good: they have tasty rolls that they give you when you site down. Now for everything else: 1) when we came into the restaurant, the host had his nose in a computer. No "hi". No "Welcome to Reno's", just a few minutes of very uncomfortable silence until someone came up from the back to address the line that had formed (all unwelcome and all untreated). 2) we sat down. Now, typically I order first for my wife - as protocol dictates - and then my kids and then myself. This is the first time in decades when I had a server who finally came up to our table and asked my oldest child what he wanted before she went around the table. OK, maybe they do t know manners here. I should not have been surprised after the lack of greeting. 3) we waited at least 45 minutes before our food came. We had to beg for it after the people who were seated before us were in the middle of enjoying our meal. We asked for the bill for the pop we had after 45 minutes, and only THEN did they tell us the food was coming out (after we had already been told that our food was next 10 minutes earlier. They gave us every excuse from "the front house manager is out of town" to "it's the computer." Somehow the folks who were seated after us made it through the gauntlet of the computer and lack of manager. I think the manager has been gone for more than a night. The level of service does not devolve as poorly as it has in one evening alone. I imagine that Reno's is only still in business because of the transient college town traffic that come through and its proximity to a major Interstate. If it loses any of these, it will fold within 6 months. It may close in the next 6 months anyway. Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else! read more

Had an awesome server-Ali she was very attentive and so nice! Loved dinner!! I had the 6 ounce Ribeye (I highly recommend it!) and my hubby had the garlic shrimp. Dinner was a 10 out of 10 for us. Reno's is a good place here in Morehead for lunches and after work dinners, that is above the average you would expect from a chain steakhouse. Excellent burgers, especially the Bubba (Angus) and the Mushroom and Swiss burgers. Steaks are passable and salads adequate. My "usual" though is the broiled Alaskan salmon steak (pictured) with baked potato. Nothing fancy, but good. I prefer the ambiance of the bar to the restaurant. The bar has sort of a sports pub atmosphere. A lot of tvs. A little loud, but casual and inviting. Extremely attentive staff, even on busy nights. Although their beer selections are extremely limited, selections change and usually they have a couple of interesting microbrew selections. All in all, a good experience, and one to which I will return. read more

The steak is middle of the road at best. Since COVID they just haven't been the same if you ask me.

The server was very sweet and apologetic, but the food was terrible. They had "just made" the rolls, which were burned and soaked in butter and too soggy to eat. When they did bring our food, the plates were hot, but the food itself was cool. My steak was supposed to be medium, and it was rare...really rare. I ordered broccoli with cheese (a "premium" side) and got the saddest boiled broccoli without even salt on it. When I asked for the cheese version, they doused the existing broccoli in like a queso you would serve with chips and butter on top, and brought it out without my steak. My husband's steak was supposed to be medium rare and it was overcooked and tough, and his fries were bendy and cold. They took mine back to re-cook it, and it came back with a hot plate and no real visible difference. This all took about an hour and we were one of two couples in the entire restaurant. Monday afternoon shouldn't be that difficult. They took off my husband's meal and gave me a discount since I didn't eat the steak at all. So, after all was said and done, we still paid 45 dollars for some queso broccoli, a sweet tea, a coffee, and the tip to the nice waitress. We won't be returning. read more

Dear renos management today my family and i stopped in we like renos very much. But today was awful very bad service yeah the girl might have been new but we did not receive any rolls while other tables got theirs. I addressed this with a supervisor explained how awful it was he was great. Also i had to ask for silverware to eat my food. Food was not good at all very sad. Hubby and I went to Renos on a Friday afternoon for a late lunch visiting our old college town. It was not too busy and we enjoyed the quiet country atmosphere. We started with the Rosebud, their version of the blooming onion and it was cooked perfectly. Hubby had the Texas Slammer which was messy and tasty. I had the chicken salad with their homemade chicken tenders. Our waitress was sweet and knowledgeable and mastered the art of being attentive without being overbearing. Wanted to love this place again after a year wait from several bad meals in the past my family gave it another try. My ribeye wasn't a ribeye it was a sirloin no flavor and tuff (ordered medium rare should never be tough)! My sons food was cooked of my husbands chicken breast looked like a frozen chicken patty it was just gross and our bill was close to 95.00. I could have gotten better food anywhere in town. The food at Renos is extremely sub par. I have been here more than a dozen times and 6 times have been misses. I have either recieved undercooked steak or cold sides. I have found something on my food that I didnt know what it was and this time was no different. I tried ordering something that wasnt a steak and ordered the chicken club. When ordering the club I said can i get that with just the bacon and swiss cheese? The waitress said "And no chicken?" I was a bit concerned and said "No I want the chicken Im not trying to trip you up." Unfortunately for me i did not realize this dish could be fried chicken or grilled chicken. I recieved fried chicken... tenders not a breast. Two tenders on one peice of bread that was buttered and another completely plain. The side of sweet potato fries also came out with either cheese, mayo, ranch, or anything else white that could have dripped onto them in the kitchen on a couple fries. From the main road, the parking lot appeared slammed. I was seriously considering going elsewhere rather than endure any wait. But I found an empty space very near the front door. It was a good omen ... The dining room was busy, but not overly so. I was promptly seated and Joel arrived moments later. I explained that I'd been baking in a convertible ALL day and NEEDED their largest glass of COLD water. It arrived almost instantly. Large & cold. Thank you, Joel. The basket of rolls was served hot. The recipe is very close to Texas Roadhouse ... they are of the warm, buttery, sweet variety. I ordered an Angus burger with all the trimmings and onion rings. The portion size was large, and it was cooked precisely as ordered, medium rare. Thank you very much. The food arrived promptly and hot. It was ... delicious. A bit more about Joel. He's a rockstar server. Not a single wasted step or motion. He kept an eagle eye on all his tables. He anticipated my every need/want. Whenever my water glass was nearing empty, another fresh, cold glass was always delivered. How much did I appreciate his work? He earned a 100% tip. Would I return. Yes! After traveling all day time to eat dinner and wanted something other than fast food and someplace we don't have at home. When we pulled in the parking lot, there were a lot of cars. Always a good sign. Staff was pleasant and food was good. Rolls w/ honey butter were offered and brought to the table Hubby had 10 oz. sirloin with side salad and French fries. Steak fries were available, but when he said he didn't care for those, server was quick to say they had shoestring fries for the kids menu and there would be no problem if that's what he wanted. I had filet medallions with mushrooms and a side salad and wild rice. Both meals were $14 ea w/2 sides. Salads were $1 ea and mushrooms were $2. Steaks were cooked as ordered. Reno's steakhouse is just about the only steak available in Morehead! If you exclude Cracker Barrel that is which I don't usually think of steak there. Reno offers several choices for meat lovers of which I ordered the Ribeye medium rare and it was delivered promptly to my table by the attentive waitress. The first cut revealed a cooked status that I requested. Hot with a red/pink center! The taste was good and the size was as advertised. While cutting into the steak I discovered many gristlly tendons throughout my meat. So since it was tasty I searched for and found edible sections enough to satisfy my appetite and ate most of the baked potato which was also pretty good. Overall I guess Reno served me an OK cut if beef and the service was good! read more

Youthful servers need training. I ordered the black and blue burger medium rare. It arrived well done with regular fries that were supposed to be shoestring. It didn't taste good at all. When entering the radio was blasting some kind of screaming rock not conducive to an eatery on a late afternoon Saturday. But, at threat of leaving it was turned off..... ahhhhhhh! While eating a server started washing the floor 2 booths over with a huge mop, bucket and such strong detergent l had to ask her to stop. She complained that she had to wash up a safety hazard! Geez, she may have created one if she continued. Maybe next time dry it up then wipe it dry instead. Why can't people use common sense anymore.
