We placed our order and were disappointed upon the appearance of the food. I ordered the seafood jambalaya and it was very dry. My husband got red beans and rice and it was also very dry. You usually get hot sauce with Cajun food and we had to ask for it. There was a lady that seemed to run the place sitting near us and she made zero effort to help with customers. When we were eating - she asked how it was and we said good (awkward), then she responded "I was hoping it was good, it's the first time I've ever made it" um, excuse me? The first time you've ever made it? I was so confused at how they run a restaurant and hadn't made the dishes before. It showed they had no experience in cooking the dishes. I can honestly say that I don't know where to start. The food is real, authentic creole food that just is on another level. Based on the season will depend on what food is available because it is Fresh! Zero leftovers period. Good luck there being any anyway because of the flavor. Service is personal. I'm talking the owner is also one of the cooks and she's always coming out to the patrons and really talks to them. Not just the welcome to our restaurant, it's come on in and she'll get you fully excited, mouth watering, can't wait to come back again all before your food has even arrived. The ambiance? You walk in those doors and you're instant family. Not just by the workers, even the customers will talk across tables joining in. My husband stopped in and after his first bite of his massive po boy immediately called me to tell me about it. He went back in to order me something to go after great suggestions from the owner. She packaged it so it would make it home to me safe and sound. Went well above what she needed to do to make sure their products maintained their quality on a long drive home. I was so excited to have a place like this in Morehead. A coworker and I gave it two separate tries, and both were a total bust. The first time, the meal was okay-ish but dramatically underseasoned and bland. The menu was written on a sheet of wide-ruled notebook paper with the frills still on the edge. We figured this was just because they had just opened up and hadn't finalized the menu yet. The food was brought out in styrofoam take-out trays. Kind of odd, but okay. The second time, a couple of months later, nothing had changed. Notebook paper menu, styrofoam trays, plastic utensils, sickeningly sweet lemonade... I get a revolving menu based on availability of the meats but invest in a printer! My coworker and I both got the jambalaya and there were very hot and very cold spots throughout, as if it had been microwaved or something. Bland flavors. Super disappointing. read more

Let's start off with, I'm a huge food critic! I travel all over the United States and I visit Louisiana a lot and have lived there for months at a time for my work. So Cajun food is a passion of mine!!! Creole Kitchen has some major stepping up to do! When they first opened up I was very excited thinking this food was going to be amazing! I always order boils when it comes to Cajun foods, this was no boil! Very bland with now flavors only heat! At this point I'm thinking this is a new place so I will give it time. After several months passed Today after church I decided to take my family here again for a second try. Service was very slow. Took almost 30 minutes for our order to be taken. My wife ordered the shrimp étouffée, I ordered the shrimp boil, my son ordered the gumbo. After an hour wait my wife and son got their food and the waitress said my boil would be right out. My wife tried her étouffée and she said it had no flavor and the heat was over bearing. My son says his gumbo was really good. At this time I was getting curious so I tried both. The étouffée had way too much heat to where there was no flavor at all. The gumbo was good but a small portion. After almost 40 minutes have passed I started thinking they had forgotten my boil so I walked up to the counter and paid for the food. The waitress informed me the boil was still cooking. I went back to my table and waited for about 10 minutes and she brought it out. Upon waiting for my boil we heard a gentleman tell a worker she needed to take a trip to Walmart to pick up some seafood because they are getting low. Here I'm thinking Walmart seafood?!! Anyway, I figured since we've waited for so long I would take it home and enjoy it. When we got home I opened the box to find the boil had no seasoning on the food and when I tasted it once again it was bland and the heat was over powering the boil. The shrimp and sausages had been cook to long and was very tough, the potatoes was like eating mashed potato. For these reasons we will not be back to this restaurant! This place has good ratings for some odd reason! But trust me!! Do not waist your money here!!! read more

Have you ever wanted to find that unique restaurant with amazing food in an unassuming location? Look no further. First off...t's Creole NOT Cajun. If you want to see the owner get animated, pretend you think they are the same thing. If you are trying to lose weight or count calories DO NOT go here. FLAVOR, real flavor. I visited for the first time on 10/5/24. Excellent food and very nice people. I had the blackened Red Snapper and a half-portion of the seafood bisque. Both were outstanding. Everything is prepared fresh. The owner brought the whole fish out for me to see before she filleted it. I'll be back as soon as I can! read more
