I placed an online order for the Tuesday special pork chops, I was there 5 minutes before my order was supposed to be ready and waited another half hour as they told me multiple times it was almost ready. After I got my food I walked to the hotel next door and opened the package, everything in the bag was ice cold and dry like it was sitting for an hour. I won't be back to this location. read more

Complete disappointment. We asked our waitress several times for biscuits while waiting for our meal: each time she stated she would bring us some. She did not bring them until she brought us our meal. Zero effort was put into my meal and it was nothing like what was described/shown in the menu. This location is going downhill. I arrived at Cracker Barrel just before closed but was here when they opened. I was here thanks to their fantastic support of the RV lifestyle. They are okay with people overnight in their parking lot with the understanding that we're respectful and it would be appreciated if we would buy a meal. I did take a look through the store which has the usual candies, clothing, decor items and of course, books on CD for rent/purchase. The restrooms are clean and the young lady who greeted me was pleasant. Breakfast of coffee, eggs, bacon and a biscuit. Delicious and filling. This is what gets me going in the morning! They were out of many items that our party wanted to order such as soup! There was very little chicken in the chicken and dumplings. The menu said they had cocktails but when ordered they were out of margaritas and they were also out of the brand of beer that I ordered! the restaurant was dirty. We felt bad for our server having to apologize for what was essentially the management's shortcomings. read more

18$ for a steak like this should be illegal. You can tell there is no training for the servers they are just thrown to the wolves to do their best. I would add a picture of the steak but it would be censored. If you come expect to wait, and be disappointed. Don't order the steak either. read more

A great Cracker Barrel location! I haven't been to Cracker Barrel in years and have never been to this one, but it's a franchise that retains its vintage decor and country cooking, no matter where you are. Sometimes the vibes aren't great if you're a POC, but this one passes the vibe check. Our server Kat was so so sweet and attentive. She readily answered our questions and was just an exceptionally good server. The food was great too. The fried chicken has a distinct black pepper taste, which I love, and was perfectly crispy. The French toast is a little bit salty for French toast, but still good. My vegetarian friend highly approves of the Impossible sausage, which she subbed in her Biscuits Benedict. From my one visit, I highly recommend this location! read more

This is by far the best Cracker Barrel meal we have had in years. The biscuits were well made and the iced latte was nice. The highlight was our server Sydney. Despite being in charge of many, many tables, she was attentive and on top of the details to make sure we had a good experience. She made time to be friendly and to make sure we were happy. Big menu and big portions. Our server was so friendly and helpful, we really liked her! We came for breakfast, I had the biscuit Benny. The menu description says "over-easy" eggs but I would recommend changing to at least over-medium. I didn't love the combination of runny egg whites with the hollandaise sauce. The bacon was not crispy at all, not edible with the Benny. My dad got a side of bacon and that was cooked more thorough but overall not impressed with their bacon. I did like the addition of tomatoes and green onions, and the hash brown casserole was very tasty! read more

We stopped for breakfast while traveling through the area. Our server was attentive, but it took nearly an hour to get our food. After waiting quite a while another server said one of their grills was broken. Everyone around us waited and waited for their meals. Several groups got up and left. Our server kept filling our coffee and brought out biscuits but we needed food. Our food was okay once we got it, but by then we were very frustrated. We understand stuff happens, but they continued to seat more and more people even while this was happening. That's inexcusable. read more

The Old Timer Breakfast was on point! Made up of eggs, bacon, biscuits with gravy, fried apples as well! The bacon was grilled to perfection and the eggs were exactly how we ordered them. We went this morning for breakfast at the Las Cruces, N.M. location. We were sat down by very kind host. Mind you there wasn't that many people, but we were left waiting for more than 20 minutes without even the waitress coming over to the table. When she finally showed up, she went straight to a table that had barely just sat down while we've been waiting for more than 20 minutes. We decided to leave and I'm sure she didn't even noticed. Like I've said, I would've understand if it was busy, but it wasn't. Got much better service at Village Inn. read more

Arrived on Sunday around 11:10 a.m. The wait was about 10 minutes as the restaurant was moderately busy and appeared to be short staffed. After getting a table, it took about 10 more minutes for the server to stop at our table to ask about drinks and a food order. We ordered our drinks and food at the same time since we had enough time to decide. It took about 5 minutes more for our drinks, water, to arrive and over 30 minutes for our food to arrive. My southern fried chicken turned out to be chicken and dumplings and my cornbread was biscuits. By this time I was too hungry, and upset, to send it back, because I had no idea how long it would take. The server also forgot my wife's coleslaw, but when my wife reminded her, we both got coleslaw, even though I didn't order any. My wife asked for a go bag to take the biscuits home, and that never arrived. On a positive note, the food was hot and delicious. This is not typical of Cracker Barrel, but I would not recommend this location. read more

This chain is fairly consistent and I like many of their menu offerings. However, this was I believe one of the WORST experiences that I've ever had and it all relates to service. The meal itself was tasty, the biscuits,(when they finally arrived!), we're some of the best that I've had anywhere. So here's a summary of what happened: I was seated quickly, it was about 3:30 Friday afternoon on February 24, 2023. In the first section there about half of the tables empty and three servers, two guys and a young lady. I sat, and I sat, and I sat. Menu in my hand or on the table all the while.... Meanwhile, "Poindexter", complete with curly hair and glasses, serves the table of four next to me, comes back to ask them if everything's okay and made a third trip to deliver refills. I desperately tried to get his attention by waving and shouting as he turned each time and walked away..... Waiter #2 is checking on the couple seated behind me, I was able to wave him over.... He gave me a blank look and had had to ask if he would please take my order. Like a deer caught in headlights he explained my table was not in his section. I quickly said. " well the other guy isn't interested in serving me, so I pick you". And I gave him my order, and added that I'd like to leave the menu on the table as I needed to get something from my truck. I come back in to find a couple had been seated at the table and 30 seconds later "Poindexter" is asking them what they would like to drink. I hadn't had a sip and have to be 15 minutes in by now. I sat at an unoccupied table for two and waiter #2 arrives with Iced tea. No mention of the table nab. And I wait and I wait..... Pretty soon "Poindexter". Flys out of the kitchen with plates for the couple of table nabbers!!! Now its not a perfect world, I accept that. But this was ridiculous especially when I'm trying to make it back behind the wheel and get home for the weekend. Five minutes or so pass and my "dock-side" platter arrives. The fish was hot, crispy and delicious, but I had no way to taste the greens or mac and cheese as I had no silverware, and no napkin. I was about to leave the table and go off on a search mission when my waiter appeared. Got the silver minus a napkin. At this point I figure I'll just use my shirt sleeve. Biscuits arrived as I finished the last few bites left on my plate, and the iced tea glass sits empty. About 70 minutes total as I get back in the truck. Sigh.... Some leadership is missing to guide these lost souls who are masquerading as servers. Hopefully management will see this and value the feedback. UPDATE: I did leave details as directed and this generated a case number with them. Ultimately they have provided a complimentary meal coupon. Which, I applaud; however, I would have preferred to have had a conversation with management and some assurance that the criticism would be used in a positive way to improve service at the restaurant that I visited. I doubt my travels will take me back to this particular restaurant; however, I would make a point to stop in again if possible. I give them credit for responding. read more

The food was so wonderful and came out fast and hot. My server was friendly and made sure to come back and check on us a true pleasure. Coming from Las Vegas Nv I have had a lot of bad service but I love the girls here. Now the reason for the 3 stars well that has to do with the retail side. First I get coming up to me while I'm by the doors but when I ask if I can have someone help me with something I was spoke to by Dolores. I believe her name was she was obviously a trainer because she was wearing burgundy which I have been at a Cracker Barrel many years ago. She was speaking to someone so I waited to speak to her and all I asked for was someone to come help me when they could I got a rude response "I'm with someone" I said that's fine and walked away. A few minutes later she asked what I wanted I said something stupid because I was just done with the eye rolling and stocking. As I went ip to pay for my things I was showing my son some candy and the same lady is eyeballing me like I'm a thief and I'm sorry but that is ridiculous and uncalled for you. Make yourself look like a real ass when your fallow people around because their not from around here lol! I could have been corporate you don't know. Now the sweet lady at the register Leanne was her name. She was very helpful and sweet and made sure to ask us if we needed anything else and told us to have a wonderful day that somebody that you want on your floor somebody who knows what real customer service is and how to take care of every guess that walks through the door not to pick and choose who they feel is worthy enough to be treated that way shame on you missed Dolores. And by the way I have been in the business for years from a server to and GM and yes I would have been very upset to have a guest tell me that someone was walking around making people feel the way she made my son and I feel. Have eaten here a lot in the past and it was really good! Good service, food, prices, etc. However, today I revisited after a long hiatus and ordered a medium steak with fries and a baked potato. For whatever reason a baked potato is considered "premium" now and is up charged! The steak was bloody rare, and my server brought barely any biscuits. I had to ask for butter and jelly and it took forever to get those small items. Then, I ordered a coke cake and it came out with no ice cream. The ice cream isn't even vanilla bean anymore, just plain. Overall I'd say go to Reno's. Right across the road, much better prices now, and better service. read more

I had the chicken strip meal with steak fries, pinto beans, and carrots It was all delicious I cleaned my plate. A little disappointed in my chicken strips. I tried to eat one strip that didn't have chicken in it, it was just batter. Therefore three stars. My wife had the chicken strips, carrots, greens and dumplings she said it was very good especially the carrots. Atmosphere good for it to be so busy on a Friday night. Music just right to allow us to talk but drown out others conversations. Our wait was very little to be seated. It's Cracker Barrel one of the best parts is the store a lot of things to choose from. As usual, Cracker Barrel had their sh!t on point. After a disappointing visit (and non meal) at the Denny's in Ashland, we drove down the interstate to this establishment. We groaned as we saw a tour bus unloading at the door. We did have to stand in line about 5 minutes at the hostess stand but we were immediately seated, greeted and placed our orders with the sweet waitress. Food was awesome as usual but we did have to ask for both napkins and silverware. We were in and out in less time than we had waited at Denny's. Love the Barrel read more

This is the Sunday morning meet up for all the out-of-staters after our family reunion held the day before. I've been here many times, and as others have said, if you've been to one Cracker Barrel, you've been to them all. On my most recent visit, however, service was a little off. Our group was big, but not huge; 8 people, with two only ordering coffee. When the breakfasts arrived, they were presented to the wrong people and we ended up playing pass the plate once the server left. Also, she kept bringing out sides, which she said were included, but none of us really thought so.....it was way too much food that just ended up being wasted. I ordered the french toast with blackberries with a side of bacon. The bacon was nothing special and the french toast dish did not look appetizing. It smelled delicious, but that was it. It was edible, but just not my cup of tea. The fruit and sauce was hot, which I suppose, is how it should be, but I would have preferred the sauce on the side to dole out at my own discretion, or even just a dish (or topping) of fresh berries without the sauce. Next time, I'll order something different. Moving on to the store, again, they're pretty much all the same: candies, sodas, toys, decorative items, some clothing , jewelry and music. It was the beginning of July, and there were Halloween decorations out already! I took advantage and bought some mini salt and pepper shakers. They were owls dressed as Frankenstein, a witch and a vampire. *Cracker Barrel, why do you only offer three designs? I buy these as decor, not for actual use, but what would the 3rd shaker be used for?!?!* There were also paper mache-type eyeballs (your choice of brown, green or blue eye) about the size of a grapefruit, so I picked up one of those as well. What surprises me is the cost of things. Some things which you would think would be expensive are not and those that you think would be less are more so. This is a road trip staple for us. You get pretty much the same food no matter the state or the store. This one was disappointing in that they forgot to put in my order. Everyone else at my table was finished eating by the time I got my food. This also added to our stopped time while on our trip. The manager and waitress were both apologetic but there was no form of discount or compensation offered. read more

This Cracker Barrel has been open for about three years now. It is the closest one to my home, but it is about 50 miles away. My son goes to college here in Morehead, so we eat here periodically. Most people eat at Cracker Barrel because it is predictable and usually consistent from store to store. I have dined at many Cracker Barrel's throughout the South and Southwestern part of the country, and this one is probably the most inconsistent that I've eaten at. One day it will be great, and the next it is the worst. My review here will concentrate on this visit last visit only. There were three of us in our party, my two grown sons and myself. Two of us ordered the Country fried steak and the other ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken. They all tasted fine, but they were a little stingy with the gravy. My three sides were dumplings, hash-brown casserole, and fried okra. All of my sides were really good. The hash-brown casserole is their best side. I also think they do a good job with the okra. One of my sons ordered mac and cheese and mashed potatoes with brown gravy. All were good. The other sides ordered was french fries, which are a steak fry. They were fine. The server was young, probably a college student. She was friendly, but made several mistakes. First, it took her about 10 minutes to come get our order. She did come by once to acknowledge us and say she would be right back, but it was a while. When she took our order, she never brought us biscuits or cornbread. Not even with the meal. We didn't press it because neither of us really wanted the bread, but it is an oversight that shouldn't happen at a Cracker Barrel. She was prompt about bringing our food, and she did eventually refill our drinks. When we eat at this Cracker Barrel, we go with the full knowledge that it might not be good. read more

However, as we arrived the only name I heard was Justin as he overexerted himself by introducing himself not 1 or 2, but 3 times. He was definitely in his element as he was fancily pouring our coffees in such an exhilarating yet dangerous way. Some of this steaming hot coffee splashed onto my dear friend! As we are waiting on our scrumptious food to arrive, we encounter an odd man approaching us, asking creepily if we could like our candle lit. And although we said yes, i somewhat regret it due to it being one of the most awkward occurrences of my life. In addition, the chicken breast was a bit too chewy for my liking. Avoid the meatloaf and mashed potatoes! My wife and I stopped in on a road trip and was very disappointed. I thought I'd try something basic, thinking, 'they can't screw that up'. I was wrong! What a horrid example of meatloaf. I felt like I was eating canned dog food. It was mostly filler, with hardly any actual ground beef. The mashed potatoes seemed like they were leftovers from 4 days ago. Barely warm and congealed, as instant mashed potatoes get when they've been around awhile.
