    Butterscotch pie
    Phoebe M.

I visited on Thursday 8-9-23 Let me preface this review with a little backstory. I love butterscotch pie. The best butterscotch pie I've ever had was a homemade one from someone I knew through someone else. I've been on the hunt for a pie as good as that one for years. This lady once sold her pie at an auction for $350 because everyone there knew how good it was. I ain't that rich and my dreams of having her pie faded as the auction price raised. I have tried and reviewed pies from many different bakery's. I really made one lady mad when I said her pie was terrible, but those where the facts. If you'd like some entertainment you can find that review on Facebook and I'll tell ya, the comment section was pretty entertaining. So this isn't my first rodeo reviewing butterscotch pie. I will be brutally honest. Ok, with all that said, if the perfect pie was a 10/10 then this one is a solid 8.5/10. This is the best butterscotch pie I've purchased from any bakery. The only thing I can think I of to make it closer to the "perfect" one I had would be the filling to have added ooey gooey stuff. I wish I could get that old lady pie again, but since I can't this will definitely fill the craving. It is really good. Sometimes I wish I had never had that slice of Heaven because nothing will ever quite live up to it. She nearly ruined all future butterscotch pies. I'm happy I've found a good pie that satisfies the craving. I also tried the sugar cookie - I hear they are famous for these. I'm not a fan of sugar cookies, and this didn't change that for me. If you like sugar cookies I think you will really like them, but they aren't really for me. And yeah, I cried a little as I left that auction and watch that beautiful pie leave with someone else. I'll let ya know when I get over it.

    Croissant breakfast sandwich

I was visiting Morehead, and wanted to find a bakery. This was ranked among the top so I had to try it. As soon as you walk-in you're hit with the wonderful smell of the food. The place has two rooms filled with goodies. I was greeted as soon as I moved in and was given recommendations. Ultimately I ended up ordering the following items: honeybun cake, chicken salad, no bake chocolate oats cookie, and the croissant breakfast sandwich with sausage patty. I didn't get a chance to try the honeybun cake because my guy ate it lol. Although he did said it was really good. I enjoyed everything else, but the breakfast sandwich was AMAZING!! The croissant was soft and buttery, eggs were scrambled to perfection, and sausage patty is always good! Honestly, happy I don't live in Morehead because this place would take all my money on the croissant alone. lol. Whether you live in Morehead, visiting, or just passing through it is a MUST try!!

    Carrot Cake

What they are known for are the bakery items and I'll tell you what... phenomenal. This is the best carrot cake I've ever had in my life. We also got the Artichoke Sandwich and Loaded baked potato soup. The sandwich was very good. However the soup was a little underwhelming, they need to add some flavor! Maybe try Dill. All in all, glad we stopped in.

Root-a-bakers' sugar cookies have been a lifetime favorite of mine from the days when I lived in Kentucky. I recently placed an order to be sent to me in Los Angeles & the quality and taste did not disappoint! They arrived in a white tin, each cookie individually wrapped-- none arrived broken and they remained fresh for a week. Anyone craving a good southern homemade sugar cookie can find them here. I have placed past orders and their customer service is impeccable!

You place your order at the front counter and pay at that time, then they bring your food out to you. We didn't order any alcoholic drinks so we got our drinks at that time and brought them to our table ourselves. I don't know how alcoholic drinks such as wine are handled when ordered and if a tab is run or if every drink is paid for as they are ordered. The dining area consists of various sitting arrangements such as sofas and swinging chairs which were tastefully arranged throughout. The charcuterie board was beautifully designed, although I would have liked to have seen a bit more choices in meat. My son's only disappointment was that all the boards that were shown online had honey and a little bee and ours didn't. It seemed like that was a trademark that they used on their boards but was sadly missing from ours. The ones online seemed to be done a bit more elaborately than what we had. Other than that, it was a nice experience and I believe we will definitely go back when we are in the area.

McDonalds has always been a middle ground on how fast-food places should be. A lot of places are…read morejudged to how McDonalds operate because of how popular and the stance that McDonalds has left within the fast food world. But how does this McDonald live up to that reputation? I have been to this McDonalds multiple time before leaving a review to really get an idea how this place operates. Showing up at different hours to experience which is the best time to get your orders and get the absolute best service possible. This is what I came up with. The mornings are possibly when you'll get the freshest food options. Especially from 6-8am. Plus, the time they are able to get the food out is outstanding. For a chicken biscuit, an hashbrown, an bacon egg and cheese biscuit, and a medium coffee. I was able to get all my food, with it being hot and fresh within 2 and a half minutes. However, not every morning is like this. Mainly after the 9am mark. The food won't be as fresh, since its more of a cool down period and transitioning from breakfast to lunch at 10:30. The Lunch rush is pretty good with getting solid food as well, however not speedy service. When getting a 2 $5 dollar meals. I had to wait about 6 minutes for my order. Although it's not a speedy service as the breakfast rush, the food quality was still as good with it being fresh and hot. The dinner rush can be said the same as well. This is probably the best time to get the food at this location, expecting fresh food in a good amount of time. Ordering a dinner for me and other people that had 20 piece nugget, 2 large fries, 4 cheese burgers and 4 mcchickens. I was able to get my food fresh in a good 4 and a half minutes, which makes sense for the amount of food that was ordered. For just myself, I have been to this McDonalds about 20 times. Both in the diner and through drive-thru. The inside half the time I've been in there has been clean. With enough room to sit, and the area itself being a really good set up. However, not everytime is like this, even during their non-rush hours where there's spills on the floor, tables would have stuff on them like food or trash, or sometimes just be sticky. During the non-rush hours, they have people in the back to come out and clean, but usually they sit back there and talk until they have to take an order. The last couple of times I've gotten food there has been pretty bad. I will be using a most recent order to use as an example on how the food quality has been. I ordered for me and my friend, 2 triple cheeseburgers, 1 mcchicken, a medium fries, an 20 piece nugget, and a mocha frappe. The chicken nuggets was very soft. The fries was soggy. The mcchicken was however really good, and probably the best thing you can get. but the burgers are not so much. the meat is very dry, and only tastes okay because of the cheese. but the minced onions that's on the burgers tasted so old and bad that I couldn't even finish my burger and had to throw it out. This is not the worst McDonalds, and I'm not trying to say that at all. When it's on their good days, they are really good. Fast service, good and fresh food. Clean areas. It's really good. But you have to make sure you go at a certain point in time in order to get this kind of service. I would also suggest getting the chicken sandwiches from this location as that is their strong suite.

Just as important the employees were proficient and professional. The cashier was very capable of making the changes and additions to our order without any difficulty and without needing help. The woman who served our food was polite and didn't mind getting the extras we needed - creamer, sugar and hot sauce. All in all I would certainly come back for breakfast.
