After asking for my info twice she stated it would be approximately an hour before my order was ready! I walked back to my vehicle and then received a message from Papa John's thanking me for placing an order at 7:39! So somehow my order never got put in! Not sure who this fault lies with but it's completely unacceptable!

Yes, it was Papa Johns, after he dismantled the pelican and put him into a pizza box, he handed me a cup of his signature garlic butter sauce. We both drank the garlic butter, we drank them in a manner in between that of taking a shot and taking communion. It was a still quiet holy moment, between papa John and myself. The dream ended. I am open to any interpretations. I called Papa Johns, in Morehead Kentucky, I placed an order over the phone. I gave them 10 minutes before heading there, the drive took 10 minutes, going on 20 minutes. I received a call, a family member called and also placed an order, they paid over the phone. Since I had a spiritual awaking with papa johns 20 minutes before, I realize that I have about 10 minutes to kill before my pizza is ready and like 15 -20 minutes for the other order to be ready. I killed some time, arrived about 30 minutes after the last order was ordered and paid for over the phone. Once I arrived at Papa Johns, I waited outside. ( the lobby is closed) I yearned for the garlic butter sauce. The first order was out in reasonable time. Paid, and waited for the second order. The runner came out 5 times and asked what I was waiting on. I said pizza and gave the name of the order. They responded with, "It's in the oven" Each time. (A cheese pizza apparently takes 30 minutes to make and 20 minutes in the oven) This waiting at outside the lobby took 20 minutes, Finally it came out. They added additional stuff to the order, and said it wasn't paid. It was a hot mess. We ended up paying twice because there was no reasoning with any of the employees as it was an absolute hot mess inside the restaurant with no captain behind the wheel. The pizza was good. It just took forever, and was a frustrating amount of time..

Cook Out - BBQ (great flavor) platter with yummy coleslaw, fries, and hush puppies!

Cook Out

It is my first time to Morehead, Kentucky. Absolutely beautiful place!…read moreMy son said I "needed" to try Cook Out before I left. I must tell you, there is massive hype surrounding this drive-thru only restaurant. For the college kid on a budget I totally get it. However, I was not totally on board as we rolled to a stop at one of the two drive thru lanes. It was pretty hard for me to hear and understand the person on the intercom. They have Mr Pibb but not Dr Pepper. Let me say here that Mr Pibb was a drink whose recipe was surely invented by the Soviets during the Cold War in order to create chaos an unrest in the US. I just got a coke. I ordered a "tray", with a double burger on the advice of my more worldly, athlete son. He went the distance and ordered the same, but in a special way ( I think it might have been "cookout style"?). Anyway, it came with chili and slaw... on the burger. Again, under his advisement , I ordered the hush puppies as a side, and I saw they had Cajun Fries, so I thought I would try them. My one regret is that I did not try one of the 45 shakes on the menu. I was not super hungry and I just couldn't justify buying one. The food was ready, fresh, and hot in a matter of about three minutes! A friendly efficient young lady passed it through the window to us and took our payment. I was pretty impressed at their operation as far as that went. My son's order was correct but I think they might've given me a junior burger or something? It turned out it was fine because there was quite a bit of food there. Hush puppies were in fact pretty good. The "Cajun Fries" were just crinkle cut fries with some kind of spicy, salty powder sprinkled on them after they put the fries in the styrofoam container. The tiny burger was tasty, and the burgers taste like they are flame broiled. Pretty good! Overall, the food was pretty good. My experience would've been a lot better if the intercom and order taker had been little bit better, so keep that in mind if you go here. The drive-through only business is not for me, but for college kids and people who just want to get something to eat on the way home I think it's fine. I can't recommend the shakes because I didn't try one but they all sounded really good.

One of my local (Morehead) favorites, especially in the summer. The food truly reminds me of summer…read moretime backyard cookouts (something that sadly has become more of my past than my present). I love ending summer days with a hamburger and hotdog (don't judge me). It is a great away to add a little "summer" to winter days. A "cookout" for dinner when the temps are cold is a great way to break the winter doldrums.
