Friendly, engaging, and genuinely enjoyable to talk with. The conversation alone made the stop worthwhile, and I would gladly come back just to sit at the bar and chat with him again. The sweet tea was fantastic, which, from what I've learned while visiting Kentucky, is a fairly serious category of competition. For dessert, I had a warm cinnamon pretzel topped with ice cream, and it was outstanding. If you're debating whether to order dessert, stop debating and just do it. One thing I've noticed about restaurants in Kentucky is that they appear to believe air conditioning is both a utility and a competitive sport. If you're visiting from out of town, consider bringing a sweater or dressing in layers. The dining room was cool enough that I briefly wondered whether I should have ordered hot chocolate. Will I be back? Maybe. If I return, I'll probably do the sensible thing and try one of the burgers that everyone keeps raving about.
