But I'm a teacher, I need to get to school to work, and public transit is not a viable option for the schools where I teach. I almost never reach out to my family if I have problems, but this time I did (I had no idea what to do). And, miracle of miracles, our family had a car available that my father had convinced one of my step siblings not to trade in. With proper care, this car will (easily) last another 15 years. So now we had to coordinate moving this miracle car from NJ to MN. My father did the original rounds of research, saying the price would be about $1k and might take a couple months to get here. Months?! Every day the car wasn't here was another day I couldn't work. I like paying my bills and eating food sometimes. I contacted the U.S. Consumer Auto Transport Authority to see if I could do better than "months", and they referred me to MoveAuto. MoveAuto was a couple hundred more than the basement priced companies (which were quoting about $1k), but here's the difference - instead of being a broker like the cheap guys, trying for weeks to recruit a driver to transport your car at insanely low rates, MoveAuto has their own drivers. This means you don't have to guess too much when it comes to when the car will get to you. I got a hold of them Friday, and they picked up the car from my dad at 8 a.m. Monday morning. The car was with me by Wednesday, with no damage at all. I have to add that my father is a very strong-willed and occasionally truculent older fellow, and MoveAuto did a great job at telling him what he had to do before shipping while treating him with respect. I am so grateful to MoveAuto for removing the stress from a very stressful situation. I've had my car for almost a month now, and every day I am grateful to have it. Thank you for doing what you do.

Vehicle Pick Up: I started communicating with Tina Wright from early June. She asked that I'd give them a three-day window to pick up the car. I was traveling a lot for work so I asked if we could do with a two-day window instead. The answer was no which I understand if it is their policy. My friend stepped in and agreed to be available within a three-day period from July 9 to 11 for them to pick up the car. They contacted us on the 10th that they'd pick up the car between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM on the 11th. We started contacting the dispatch after 6:15 PM since we hadn't heard from the driver. Nobody picked up. We got a text message around 8:00 PM that they'd be there around 9:00 PM! Two hours after the latest time you yourself set?! My friend had to leave due to an emergency and asked the driver to pick it up the next day before 11:00 AM instead. The next day, I was expecting a call from Tina or the dispatch with an update on the new pick up time. I didn't hear from them until around 9:00 AM so I called Tina. She said "oh I was going to call you to see what the heck happened last night!" WOW! Just WOW! She said that she'd contact the dispatch and will let me know. In the meantime, Kirk from dispatch called my friend and said he can't send a driver but if my friend drops off the car at their yard by 11:00 AM, they will give us a $50 discount!!! The audacity! I was on a time crunch so my friend kindly agreed. But then shortly afterwards he got another call from the dispatch manager, Peter, saying that a driver will pick up my car between 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM!!! I emailed Tina and expressed my frustration and disappointment. Her response was simply if you are disappointed, just cancel the shipment!!! I had no choice but to wait. This company wasn't the cheapest option, but I had heard that working with them would be hassle free. Boy was that a big lie! At 12:15 PM, my friend called dispatch again to check on the driver's ETA. The dispatch said that my car was already picked up!!! Mind you, the car was still in my friend's driveway!!! Had I have more time, I would have canceled the shipment altogether. You don't want to be in business with such unprofessional and unreliable people. Vehicle Delivery: Someone named Jim contacted my friend in NJ on Friday saying that the car will be delivered on Saturday between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM EST. By 5:45 PM EST, the car hadn't been delivered yet and Jim wasn't picking up his phone. My friend texted the person who had communicated with her the day before and he texted back that the driver was on his way. Then the driver called saying that he couldn't deliver the car and asked my friend to go to a Walmart 20 minutes away to pick up my car!!!! My friend was kind enough to do it for me. But the pick up location wasn't a Walmart. It was apparently the company's yard. I was going to give them the benefit of the doubt about the unpleasant issues with the pick up assuming that it was a one off problem, but this seems to be their normal practice. Don't waste your money and time. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere.
