I was taken advantage of by this shop. They charged me $1,100 to tell me my engine was bad. I had already taken my truck there because I knew my engine was faulty and needed to go through my warranty company to get it fixed. They informed my warranty company that the engine repair would cost $28,000 for my 2006 Dodge diesel. They also told my warranty company that one of my injectors had gone bad and damaged my engine, causing it to knock. My injectors were only a little over a year old, and I have the receipts to prove it. They claimed that diagnosing the engine knock cost over $1,100. Please be cautious and avoid this shop. read more

This is the worst shop in town. took my truck with a bad diesel pump and he replace the ICP. I put a new pump outside his shop and drove away. He also charge me for new injectors and for upgrading to new standpipe and dummy plugs. When the standpipe went bad I fixed it and he did not want to warranty it telling me he could not verify the parts belong to them. read more

When I asked for my truck to be bullet proofed he quoted me 7-10k when my truck was ready he called and let me know it was gonna cast me 2300.00 because it was already partially bullet proofed already. I am very picky about my 1999 F350 7.3L. We full-time in a 37' RV and I keep the truck just like brand new. Every year I visit Reno to see family. I have gone to many diesel mechanics and it is very difficult to find good ones. Well I have found the one that I will use to keep my truck running top notch. I had my check engine light come on while in town this year. they replaced the glow plugs and had me up and running in less then two days. Bonus, my gas mileage went up. I then made an appt. to get a better radiator installed along with several little odds and ends like new headlights and door switches. Once again, They were great. Finally found a diesel mechanic that you can rely on. This guy is honest. I originally took my truck to Jones west ford, (bad mistake) I had an "appointment" for 8am to have a diagnosis of a coolant leak, I was told it would take 1.5 hours, after 7 hours they told me it was the water pump leaking and they could fix it in a week for a small fortune. I took my truck to Robert at McDiesel and he found that some hose clamps were leaking. He had the truck on the road in a few hours for a fraction of the cost. The losers at Jones West Ford will be put out of business by honest reliable mechanics like McDiesel. Long story short, dealers screwed me with warranties. All warranties were canceled because I lifted the truck 4", less than the 6" max. MOPAR SUCKS!! But McDiesel came to the rescue and repaired my over $5000 bill and gave me an amazing price of $1700. Turbo actuator went bad. When I picked up the vehicle a coup days later, I was told the $1700 was wrong and that they over quoted me with the part. I left with an amazing repair and only paying $1000. After a crash I took my truck to Coachcraft (do NOT go there. When I received the truck back I had multiple issues with it. The main one is my wheel and tire coming off on the freeway. Coachcraft is a whole different story. However I felt like the truck was no longer reliable or safe. So I called McDiesel to do a bumper to bumper thorough check. They were very professional, fixed a few things on my truck, and they were very responsive as well. I would highly recommend them to friends and family. And I'm trying to spread the word that Coachcraft is a terrible company, the owner actually was cursing at me because I had to bring back my truck for a 3rd time. Also on different truck they worked on for me, they used a zip tie and heat shrink to fix a $37 part. Which of course failed in about 1 month, cost us $900 for a mechanic to diagnose and install. After my last service by McDiesel on my 2000 F350, the oil filter was not tightened after being replaced. As a result, oil leaked and covered the under carriage of my truck. I thought something awful was going on as I couldn't see the source of the oil leak. Fortunately it wasn't something awful, just a lack of attention to detail. My truck is irreplaceable, they don't make them like that anymore and I certainly can't afford a new one. I won't be back. read more

I took my 6.0 powerstroke to get a water pump put in with a 7.3 adapter and also had a coolant and oil leak that I could not figure out where it was coming from. Not only did they figure out both leaks but replaced my bulletproof oil lines that were routed badly(not my fault) and leaking with some lines that look lot more heavy duty. It did take a little bit off time to get truck back but really its cause they are such a great shop and are very busy, I drove from San Jose to get my truck worked on by them just because of their rep and I would do it again. 3 weeks since I picked up the truck and not a drop of oil . I brought my '97 12 Valve Cummins to him for a valve spring job and his shop did great work at a reasonable price. I would like to start off by saying that Robert has been amazing I happen to be a mechanic and own my own shop and normally do my own work. Since finding McDiesel though, I have pretty much stopped working on my own truck. I usually give a place several visits before reviewing and it's about time I write this one. I have been using McDiesel since shortly after they opened and have sent many of my customers here as well, and I must say in over a year I have yet to have a problem or heard back from a referral that they had a problem with any work preformed here. Honest quality work every time that is my experience with Robert and the team at McDiesel. I own a very hard driven 6.0L F350 anybody who has one I'm sure knows the struggles LOL but I love my truck and have found that my time is better spent taking care of my customers and letting Robert take care of my truck.
