    Unfinished install and excess trim.
    Jeremy H.

I purchased 4 windows at a very high price of over $2,000 per window to replace the ones in my living room. After waiting 10 weeks for them to produce the windows and schedule the installation, I finally got them installed 3 weeks ago. I was informed one of the windows was damaged at the factory and would need to be repaired, so the installation was completed without properly finishing the trim. The long short of it is, I have been on countless phone calls and sent texts and photos, but am unable to get someone to come and repair or replace the window. The installation team, also did a laughable job at caulking, but I can't get them out here to fix it. Finally, instead of properly sanding, patching and caulking the windows after installation, Anderson just slapped on excess trim, and now I cannot use inset blinds.

I have to say, my experience has been the complete opposite of all these rave reviews. When the salesperson came out to quote the job, I was adamant that I wanted full-frame windows and not inserts. She pushed hard for the inserts until I had to make it clear that I am not interested in half measures. She quoted the job, a guy came out to measure, and 8 weeks later, the installers were here. First, they installed a new sliding door, covering up wood rot instead of fixing the water-damaged sill. Then I left them alone to do the remaining four windows. After a few hours, I walk into the room and see that they installed inserts. I was livid. Apparently, the guy that came in to measure changed the order without my knowledge. I told them to stop work, they wrapped up and left. Adding insult to injury, the contractors hit my mailbox and kept driving. Several days later, a supervisor came out and I went over the multitude of issues we had, earnestly wanting to make me happy. He agreed to take the door out and fix the sill correctly, fix my mailbox and get the right windows installed. I specifically requested that he not send outsourced contractors but employees, and preferably his best crew since we had so much trouble. He agreed. 6-8 Weeks pass and a new crew arrives with the correct windows. They reinstalled the door, took all the rotted wood out, and looked to do a much better job. The windows were all replaced and new molding and sills installed as well. This crew seemed to really know what they were doing. Unfortunately, they were slobs. When they left, my bathroom wasn't vacuumed up and someone had stepped in white caulk and got it all over my deck and floors. They left globs of that yellow spray foam on my bathroom wall and I found more caulk on our faucet and counter. At this point, we were just exhausted from the hassle, signed off on the job, and went about cleaning up after them. Several days later, I am in my kitchen and bent over to pick something up and I see under the new sill they put in. There was a big saw cut across the bottom. The curtain hid it, so I didn't see that at first. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. To know that after all the trouble we had the first time around the guy tried to pass this off as acceptable is, well, unacceptable. In summary, no we're not thrilled with the job. We're also not so thrilled with the quality of the product either. Anderson is not what it used to be. I should have gone to Home Depot to review the quality before moving forward with this project. I likely would have chosen something else. I can say that their support is attentive, understanding, and never hesitate to want to fix an issue, but there are still too many issues. I have to say, I am rather jealous that so many other people were so enamored with their install experience. Ours was the complete opposite.

This unstall was completed in (5) weeks after the initial order with no flaws whatsoever. I was 100% satisfied with the LOWE'S installation team. I decided to have a front door and storm door installed on a new house just for the sake of having a Pella product in my new house. I made the mistake of using Pella of NC and it was absolutely the worst experience I have encountered in my 35 years of home ownership dealing with all sorts of businesses and contract services. My order consisted of an exterior door and a storm door. If not for the excellent installation by Jimmy, I would rate Pella at ZERO STARS if possible. It took nearly 7 months to finally get the door and proper hardware installed due to damaged product, several re-orders, and a no-show by Pella on a scheduled installation. Pella did offer a compensation of slightly less than 10%, but I feel I deserved more based on the following timeline: 12/9/24: Doors ordered 2/6/25: (1st install attempt) Door was severely damaged and had to be re-ordered 5/2/25: (2nd install attempts) Pella was a no show and did not contact me. (inexcusable) - Pella informed that my new door was "missing" and they would call me back when found - After a week they called and said they could not locate the door and had to re-order again 6/13/25: (3rd install attempt) Both doors are installed but there were no hardware/handles for the door - Hardware was re-ordered 7/7/25: Door hardware was installed Several Pella employees confided in me that Pella management can't keep up with small orders and that a recent influx of new employees was the cause of mismanagement and poor communication within Pella. Based on my experience, it is obvious that several key players on the Pella team have reached their level of incompetence. I would definitely consider other options based on the high number of one star reviews on Google, Yelp and the Better Business Bureau.

The construction of Zen windows had a superior quality than the other windows we interviewed. Installation by Marcos and his crew was efficient and professional. While selecting for a window company can be daunting, we searched through the internet for window ratings and found Provia Endure Windows to be highly rated. While I appreciated their history, classic look and the fact that they were still in good shape, it was clear they needed to be updated. I contacted several window companies around town, both local and national establishments. After being put off by some of the high pressure, in person sales tactics other places had, I found the approach that Brian and his team at Zen Windows very refreshing. I also saw that they were voted Best in Charlotte by Charlotte Magazine in 2020, and I wanted to support a local business if I could. Brian was very generous with his time, and it only took a few phone calls with him and a quick visit from his installer to get measurements for them to have all the information they needed. I was impressed with how simple and straightforward the process was. Another huge selling point was that I wouldn't have to pay anything until the job was complete, a big difference from other companies. The turnaround took about three months for the windows to be built, but I would chalk that up to COVID, supply chain issues and increased demand for home projects because of the pandemic rather than anything on Zen's end. Quoted turnaround times at other businesses were similar. Once the windows were ready, Zen sent a simple three man crew to my home to perform the installation. Each gentleman on the crew probably had 30-40 years of window installation themselves, so as a team they were pretty capable. In just two quick morning sessions, my windows were complete! I'm extremely happy with the end result. The windows are fantastic, incredibly easy to use, they look great (black exterior FTW), and I can already tell they perform much better than the old ones. Brian and his team did an outstanding job, and I would recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade their windows!
