Kitchen Nightmare We uploaded photos. Don't just look at the glossy photos they posted. Skip to the end and see their actual work. Now that some of the repairs from the work done by Renew are done we want to share this portion of our experience. On the first day of demolition we learned that the upper cabinets we ordered were not what was going to be installed. The upper cabinet should have be 72" tall. 4 doors. What they brought was a 2 door cabinet that is 40" tall and only 11" deep. It is a bathroom cabinet. Regular dinner plates do not fit. They were going to install crown molding. Or small fake cabinets at the top to cover the height difference. There are no shelves. What we've learned is that the cabinet company does not even make kitchen cabinets. They were going to install this other cabinet without letting us know. The under counter cabinets were set 1.75 lower than they were. The sink is lower and all working surfaces are lower. Not only is that ergonomically unpleasant but it left a funky edge behind the sink going out to a bay window. It was one piece. Raising the cabinets was cost prohibitive so now it is 2 pieces with a funky lip behind the sink Again they did not let us know they could not provide the cabinets we ordered. The baking cabinet should have been 41" long - It is 37". Leaving 4" of wall on the side. And it is also the lower height. Uneven edges on the cabinet that houses the oven. Cabinet on the bottom, oven in the middle, cabinet on top. Not attached to the wall. The hole in the back of the cabinet for power was measured and cut in the wrong place. They took a saw and cut a chunk out of the back to try and find the opening. The only granite set before they were asked to leave, 5 days into the job, was for the island. The island was not level so the counter and the stove top are not level. Enough so that a pencil laid on the counter rolls off. The piece of granite for the counter with the sink was measured and cut wrong. When the old tile back splash was demode they tore up the walls. We brought this to their attention and were assured it could be repaired. What should have been a 14" back splash had to be put in at 16" to cover the damage. The walls would have needed to be removed and replace to repair what was destroyed. At this point they were fired. They were to texture the ceiling over the island. They brought spray cans of texture. It doesn't match the existing texture and has over spray all over the other walls. The day begins for them sometime around 10:30am. They ran out of materials every day. So while someone was gone for 3 hours to get the material nothing was done. Not what we ordered. We were never told that what we wanted was unavailable. Were lead to believe that we would receive custom cabinets, then when everything arrived, we were told that the cabinets were stock size and we would not be getting what we ordered by both the sales person Sean and the owner Kevin Wu. When the upper cabinet is finished we will add to our Kitchen Nightmare story because there are many other reasons you should not trust this company. read more

We tried refinishing our bathroom tile and tub ourselves earlier this year with one of those epoxy paints for a few hundred dollars and boy did it came out looking terrible. The paint actually started to bubble up in the tub. My wife couldn't stand to look at it anymore so in comes Jason. He gave us a quote, told us what to expect and what not to expect. Very straight forward. Jason was very professional, and personable. Our bathroom isn't very big but there is a lot of tile from around the sink to the back splash that extends behind the toilet and surrounds the tub all the way up to the ceiling. It took Jason only 1 day to do all the tile and tub! He came back for an hr or two in the morning the 2nd day just for touch ups. I could tell Jason took great pride in his craft and he did a beautiful job! After he left I went through his work and found a single strand of hair about 1 inch long that looked like it had fallen on the paint and dried right inside of the sink bowl. I called him up and he came rushing back (at no extra charge) and he was able to remove it and buffed it back out. Looked as if it was never there. It has been about 3 months since Jason saved our bathroom and it still looks just as it did the day he finished. I would definitely recommend Jason to anyone looking for a trustworthy, hard working professional who gives you his word. Thank you Jason! P.S. Jason is great and his work is amazing! Jason exemplifies professionalism and integrity, which is something I truly appreciate when conducting business. My fiberglass tub/shower combos were in desperate need of help and I tried everything to clean them with absolutely no luck. They were disgusting and yellow. I felt defeated after my first call to another company. The man was pushy and insisted on pressuring me into the most expensive option instead of explaining my options to begin with. I then called Jason and I am so glad that I did! Jason explained the options available to me and then offered to swing by and check things out so that he could give me a realistic idea of what could be accomplished within my budget. Exceptional service and professionalism! The staff at Renew were very patient with me, as I was unsure what I wanted to do with my kitchen and bath. They quoted every scenario I asked for with the utmost professionalism. In the end, by my choice, they came out 2 separate times. In the first visit they cleaned bath and kitchen sinks, and steam cleaned my kitchen grout and tile.....wow, what a difference! At their recommendation, I immediately sealed the counter and have had ZERO stains since (3 months ago)....oh, and did I mention I have WHITE tile and grout! In the second visit they steam cleaned my kitchen floor (linoleum). They were in and out in one morning. I would recommend Renew to anyone, especially those who want an economical way to improve the look of dated/worn kitchen/bath sinks, counters and floors! We highly recommend Jason's workmanship and professionalism at Renew. We thought we would have to resurface two bathtubs that were 30 years old and seemed to be permanently stained. We used every cleaning solution imaginable plus even a pumice stone, but with no success, Jason assured us that he could remove the stains and resurfacing wouldn't be necessary. My bathtub was covered in soap scum and dirt and was so grey and gross. Commercial chemicals I used just wouldn't make any impact on it. Jason came in and professionally cleaned it and I was incredibly impressed. Jason was thorough , ver professional and yet personable . His work is top rated and I would highly recommend him. Although I didn't have my tub or sinks refinished I wanted to put in a good review. I sent him photos of what I was looking to resurface. He took a look and told me that they were rusted and the rust would just bleed back through if he resurfaced them. He said it would be a waste of money. Definitely appreciated the honesty!
