They repeatedly had communication issues with us and the insurance company and TWO YEARS LATER had only installed a temp pole, dug a hole trying to find our well, and rebuilt a water tank and pressure tank with a USED booster pump. They charged our insurance 2,145.00 for that used pump (it was OUR OLD PUMP they NEVER replaced it) and told us that the reason why the pvc pipe kept breaking was because of PG&E power fluctuations. We had to pay out of pocket for another company to come fix their error after multiple problems with it. They tried to charge us for repairing this problem and even threatened to put a lien on our property for not paying them to repair their error. FINALLY, we parted ways with a threat to the CSLB in 2020 and found a new contractor, just in time for the Covid material cost increases. We should have filed our complaint with the CSLB and taken them to court. I suggest you have your contract looked at by a contract attorney if you decide to go with this company. You may have to hire a secretary to deal with them and try to get them to respond to you because it was a nearly full-time job for me. We have tried to make the owner/manager aware of the issues we experienced but we don't know if he doesn't care of if the local office is preventing our concerns from reaching him. Jonathan stepped in, provided estimates, and spent a considerable amount of time correcting the mistakes I had made. The quality of his work was great, and he clearly has the skills. I also appreciated how flexible he was with pricing, his willingness to accommodate additional requests as the project progressed, and the time he took to explain things and teach me along the way. The biggest issue was the timeline. The project took 2 months longer than expected, and there always seemed to be a reason why deadlines couldn't be met. Communication was good at first but became less consistent over time, and eventually it became difficult to get timely updates. Some of the items originally discussed were never fully completed, while attention sometimes shifted to work that wasn't part of the original scope. Because of the repeated delays, I ended up doing a significant amount of the cleanup and finishing work myself. Overall, I appreciate Jonathan's craftsmanship, flexibility, and willingness to help salvage a project I had started on my own. However, I wish he had been able to follow through more consistently on the commitments and completion timelines that were discussed.

Phil was very polite and respectful while doing the work. At first, we were very pleased with the work, which was done in June of 2021. However, after about 5 months or so, the floating vinyl flooring started to come up in places in the kitchen. We reached out, as we were surprised that it was coming up already, after only a few months of being installed. We were told at first that most likely our house foundation had shifted, which would cause the floor to come up. Keep in mind, we are on a concrete slab, and the same exact flooring that was put in by the front door and in the bathroom was not coming up. We were then told that it was most likely because there is a sliding glass door in the kitchen, which could cause the floor to come up. This also did not sit well with us, as I have known plenty of people that had floors installed in an area with a sliding glass door, and the floor didn't start coming up 5 months later. Additionally, at no point was this communicated to us while picking out the floor, install, or upon payment. After we didn't except this answers, Keith agreed to send someone out to look at the floor. But he sent the guy who originally installed the floors.. So, the guy who messed up the floors originally is supposed to fix them now? No surprise, he glued it down which laster about 48 hours. Maybe. Additionally, there was absolutely no follow up to see if the problem had been fixed. Not to mention there are gaps in the floor and wall in spots where the floor guy did not measure correctly, I have the pics below. Overall super unhappy that I paid 21 thousand dollars and ill have to get my kitchen floor replaced relatively soon. There seems to be no guarantee of work from this company, and Keith just didn't really seem to care to make things right with the family that wrote him a 21 thousand dollar check. It is what it is, but I will not be having them redo my closets as I had planned, and I can never suggest them as an option to anyone I know. It may seem harsh, but that is how I feel. I guess I just expected better customer service from a local company.

Purchased a home in 2016. Blue prints called for fake dormers on the roof. These are the little pop outs with a window or vent to make it look like the home has a second story. They're pointless and for aesthetic only. They have no structural element and must be hand built on top of the roof once you roll the trusses and install the plywood sheathing. I say all this to illustrate how easy it would've been for Epick to just not build them on the roof. When I requested this, Epick operations manager replied that they 'could not accommodate the request but homeowner could remove them after close of escrow'. So they went forward with the process of building unnecessary fake dormers that their customer didn't want and would've actually made their job easier to eliminate. If someone reading this thinks to themselves, 'well they have to stick to the plans approved by the City of Chico', the City of Chico building department would not care about non-structural parts of a house. If you changed square footage or added windows, they would care. For this, I know for a fact they would not care. Epick refused a simple request for no reason. Other than that issue, there were many more issues with the house I won't go into detail about but their response to these issues was terrible. I had to redo the plumbing under almost every sink. I've had to replace several components on the toilets. The cabinets were chipping after 8 months of living in the house and their response was that our finger nails chipped the paint and their not responsible. We got a second opinion and was told they did a terrible job on the paint and neglected to apply a second coat. I would rent an outhouse before buying another Epick home.

We love our home. We have had warranty issues over the years and Epick has been responsive and taken care of the repairs. Warranty issues are never any fun, having contractors in your home fixing things and your life disrupted. However I do appreciate that the repairs were made. Epick also lets you make changes during the build. We almost went with another local builder but were very limited on what we could personalize. Our only negative has been how crazy the traffic has become on Eaton Road over the years.

The "so-called" highest quality paint I could use on the exterior of my house started to fail (cracks appeared in stucco) in less than 2 years. He did a medocre repair of the cracks (covered them up) which returned the following year. His ads say 10 year warranty. A misprint? I think not. It's a purposeful misrepresentstion of a warranty! After a year year and a half of numerous unanswered voicemails and personal cell-phone messages asking (pleadingwith) him to please contact me ( I even left a written message requesting that he contact me with his crew who I happened upon painting another house in my community), the result was NO CALLS... NO STOPPING BY THE HOUSE. That's pretty cold. This is a dishonest businessman. I was duped. I have lodged a complaint with the licensing board. If I could, I'd give a "zero" star rating. Was forced to choose "one".
