This company does the right thing! If you live in Redhawk you must ask RH&C to come inspect your air ducking. These homes were built a long time ago and the builders cut so many corners your health may be at risk. Please look at the pictures, they are woth a thousand words. When you change your filter and see bare wood call RH&C. I am a renter and discovered that the air return in the house was sucking into the system from the attic, bypassing the filter. Alan (Owner) looked at it and knew exactly what the issue was and how to fix it. When the house was built in 1998 the original air conditioning air return was pulling air from a void in-between the wall studs without duct work! Meaning all sorts of bad stuff was getting passed the filter and being blown into the house. He relocated the air return and made the home safe to live in. His crew was efficient and got the job done right! read more

I recently started having some issues with my home A/C unit (outdoor compressor/condenser) and had another company out a couple of months back to look at it and get it working again (6-year-old unit, fuses had blown). This other company said my compressor was going to fail soon and gave me a quote for a replacement unit ($$$$). Last week the compressor started making a strange noise, so not confident in the other company I gave Renegade a call on Monday, 8/19/13 to get a repair estimate. They came out the same day, looked at the entire system, found and fixed one major problem with an easy fix. They then told me the unit should last another 6 years or so with proper maintenance and that there was no reason to think it needed to be replaced. They also gave me recommendations on other changes and fixes that should be done to get the most out of the system. Today, 8/20/13, they returned to do the maintenance and make some other fixes/changes to the system and I couldn't be happier. They explained what they found, what they did, why it will help, and throughout the entire process they were very professional and respectful, even going so far as to ask permission before plugging in and using any of my water or power for their work. They were also always in touch with phone calls to let me know when they were going to arrive and if they were running even a few minutes late. So now I have a properly-functioning HVAC system for 1/10th of what it would have cost to have a new unit installed unnecessarily. Renegade's pricing is very reasonable and their maintenance package is a great value, especially when you consider the system will be inspected for any potential problems before they become major problems. So I got a hold of them through Home Advisor and Allan called me, came out that night. Been looking since yesterday and all are fully booked and some didn't even call back even they said they will. I have 3 kids and an infant so it's was tough last night having to sleep where the temperature is at 86 inside the house even though we have fans it's still not good enough for the heat. My air pretty much stopped blowing out of the registers. It has never worked in our upstairs. I have had 2 other companies come out and just quoted me to replace the AC compressor and furnace because they were under sized. Yes there are that is a fact but Alan who came out tonight from Renegade simply charged my compressor with 2 lbs of refrigerant, pointed out SEVERAL tips and tricks to help cool and in no time I had air flowing upstairs that I have not had in 5 yrs and a cool downstairs. Alan told me exactly what ducting I needed to be efficient an do it myself. Very honest won't up sell or overcharge. He mis quoted me his labor rate by $20 under but honored it without me asking. This company added refridgerant 3 times over a 3 year period to my unit. And during these visits, Alan (the owner) never once go up in the attic to inspect the evap coil. He worked exclusively outside by the condenser unit. This summer, my unit stopped cooling again and I decided to get a second opinion. The attending tech went up into the attic and inspected the evap coil. He did a leak test and determined that the evap coil had a faulty valve. They replaced the valve and recharged the refridgerant for less than what Renegade Heating charged to recharge it in 2018, with no repairs. I am profoundly disappointed with Renegade Heating. I like to support small businesses and thought they were doing right by me. I would not recommend doing business with Renegade Heating to family and friends. They are not about diagnosing problems and providing permanent fixes. Save your hard earned money by hiring a company that cares about diagnosing and fixing problems rather than applying short-term band-aids. read more

We were very pleased with the installation of our new air conditioning system by a Renegade. The owner (Alan) was responsive to our calls/requests and his crew was friendly, hard working and competent. The work took longer than expected (6 days rather than the 4 estimated), but since it was a complete new installation in a house that had not previously had a/c, I wasn't surprised.
