I purchased a couple of sewing machines from Renato, and he services all of my other sewing machines as well. He is honest, hard working and quick. He charges a fair price, and is an expert in his field. This morning I was afraid I had toasted the motor of a Juki commercial machine that is only one year old. I hesitantly got ahold of Renato, afraid of what he would tell me. Within two seconds he asked me if thread had gotten into the belt of the machine and sure enough it had. A whole lot of it. That is what I had been smelling, not the motor. He told me how to remove it, clean things up,and reset everything. I was happily sewing again in 30 mintues with no service call needed. He even called later to check on me again. Great business man!

My experience was classic bait and switch. Ordered a 48" range online at an excellent (but not…read moreunique) price, website claimed it was in stock and that I would need to pick it up at their West Hartford warehouse. Got a confirmation E-mail stating order would be "processed once payment was confirmed" (odd, since CC payments are generally automated these days). Next day, I got what appeared to be an automated E-mail (no name or phone number, DoNotReply sender) stating that their "policy" was that I would need to come to their store in person to confirm identity & credit card, and that the item was a special order (not in stock after all, I guess!). Since it's a 4-hour drive each way, going there twice defeats the purpose of an online order... When I called to try to clear things up, "Jack" told me the item was not in stock and that there appeared to be a pricing error (more alarm bells start up in my head). After consulting with his manager, he did call me back, to tell me that the part number is not on the Kitchenaid site, so they can't even order it, and they don't have it in stock. I just went back on their site, and they still list that exact part number listed (KFID948SJP), but at a much, much higher price, of course. When I expressed my displeasure and asked to speak to a manger, it went to voice mail. The only excuse offered was "the website is pretty automated". I get that mistakes happen, but reputable stores make some effort to make it right with the customer. A retail store is responsible for their advertised pricing.

The Service Department, to be kind about it, is a mess. We bought our oven in January and in August, the oven door broke. When I called the Service Department, I was told to leave a message and they would call me back. I must have called a dozen times and finally, they returned my call. They were either understaffed or they just didn't care. We arranged a date and I took time off from work to be at home. That morning they called and said that they were overbooked and could not come for another week. We arranged another appointment and the same thing happened, ten more days without an oven. Finally, the third time, the serviceman came out and fixed the door. It took about ten minutes. He was courteous, friendly and professional. If you want to purchase from SK Lavery, go ahead. Just hope and pray that your appliance does not need any repairs

We saw the good reviews on google and decided to give them a try. We were met in the Glastonbury store by Anthony. He was very helpful and we opted to have Joshua (owner) come to our house for an evaluation. Joshua arrived on time and provided great customer service. He explained our options in a way that we understood. We selected the replacement option. Joshua brought the unit same day and installed it, since had it in his inventory. Our old unit had been discontinued. He provided Cental Vac training 101 to us, so we knew how to change filters and attach the hoses. He was very patient and friendly. Excellent customer service. Come here from time to time…read more This store is HUGE. Prices are more than Nh... but so is everything so I don't really complain. Nothing *crazy* to state.... It's Home Depot not a nightclub but the plants always seem healthy. Last time I was here there was a confrontation between the police and an Asian gentlemen. I watched for awhile and nothing spectacular came of it. Kinda would say that's the *vibe* for this store. One other time this lady who worked here was rude... I was here right at opening and went to walk in and boy she shut those doors quick. Idk why they were unlocked but I didn't unlock them and thus was a little taken again. Figured that was just a once off. For all of these reasons, 4/5 ... maybe 85/100 if this was a test. We could call it a "B"

They excelled in customer service and inventory. I needed a small section of shelving to replace the warped and bowed pressboard shelf that came with our house. I measured up what we needed, found a suitable replacement (Medium Density Fiberboard) and asked one of their sales associates to cut it to size for me, No problem -zip, zip, zip and it was done. As part of our remodeling initiative we needed a new medicine cabinet, shower light, and some high powered light bulbs for the living room lamps. We were very impressed by the quantity and selection they had on the shelves and we ended up getting everything we wanted. Home Depots are not all alike, We've previously visited their locations in West Hartford, Bloomfield, Torrington, and Southington. And I will look you right in the eye and tell you the Glastonbury store was the very best Home Depot we've ever seen.

The owner of this shop, Nate, obviously loves and understands the business, and he also takes his time to show and explain the different types of guitars that he offers, and why they might make sense. There is also an awesome Golden Retriever in the store to keep you company if you just want to hang out with a dog instead of buy a guitar. The most impressive thing about Whole Tone is the completeness of the shop -- not only can you buy the guitar, but you can service it there as well, get your lessons, and also come in for demos of talented guitarists to see what is actually possible. I suppose you could just click and buy your guitar for the lowest price plus shipping on Amazon -- but you'll miss out on the rest of an important part of the experience, not to mention, the chance to actually try the equipment and hear what it sounds like before you do make a purchase. Its not merely about the lowest price. It also has to sound right. And if it makes you feel any better -- Nate did match the price of my guitar to whatever the lowest price was online -- without me even having to ask. That's pretty cool. Hopefully the dog will help out the lessons. No luck so far....

well ftr, and my loss is your gain…read more I spoke with john, the owner of this converted garage into workspace regarding my cub cadet that threw a tizzy (you can read about the last time with my boston lawnmower review) and needed a quick (and cheap) fix it job on a broken spring. i think it was for the gas line, not too sure. anyway, on the phone, he seemed to be way cheaper than the next (and maybe only) other applicable repair place, so I was happy to hear his low rate, not too cheap to be good rate, but reasonable, 40 per hour. I took in my pos, and he said he could either rig it to work (that didnt work) or order and repair, but would take a few days. no worries, I called him 4 days later, broken part on order. fast forward to yesterday, I pick up my mower and wouldnt you know, the carburetor needed to be fixed, too much debris inside, not replaced. hummmm, im pretty sure boston lawnmower did this (i didnt ask them to do it either) and already charged me. so, i was charged another 40 bucks on labor to do something i was under the impression was already done, was it his fault or BLM? doesnt matter, i now know the biggest scam in lawnmower repair, the proverbial undercoating, err, carburetor repair. cant check it myself, nothing to order, just padding to the bill. he only takes cash, figures, i literally open my wallet, gave him everything in it (wasnt expecting to be 111 bucks, and had to settle for 106. tough, all i have. i questioned the extra work, his curt response, i moved your job up. really? when i called you said one job ahead of me, wouldnt that be the indication you didnt drop everything for my job? also, he broke my pull cord, worked and was attached when i brought it in, now i have a brand new cord, thanks, he also charged me for that too. anyway, now you know too.
