When my sister got married in 2018, she got her wedding dress and I got my bridesmaid dress from here. We had a good experience which is why I went there in 2020 for my wedding. However I had a terrible experience and I would never recommend this place to anyone again. My first issue was with my dress. I found a dress I loved and we ordered it in November of 2020 and my wedding was in October 2021. It was the perfect dress and I was so excited! They said the dress would come arrive in about 4-6 months. 7 months go by and I call the end of June to see when it would be coming in. They tell me its in but no one called me. I set an appt in July to go try it on and I meet with the seamstress Marianna. The dress needs a bunch of alterations (which is normal sometimes) and I had plenty of time for it! There were a few things I wasn't happy with how it fit me and she said it wasn't a problem to fix at all and it would be exactly how I wanted it when she was done. I had lost 5-10lbs from when we ordered the dress. I showered her pictures of the dress when I tried on the sample and said it doesn't look like the dress I tried on at all! The fabric was completely different then what I tried on and ordered! I asked them to pull the sample and of course it was gone bc I wanted to switch to the sample dress that fit perfect. They told me the dress was discontinued and I had to take it. I ask when I can come back for my next fitting to see the alterations. She tells me she will call me. Over a month goes by and I call her in August to ask when I can set my appt. She says she isn't ready and it would another couple weeks. I told her I had some concerns with the dress and knew I would need multiple fittings and would like to start the process. She said I don't want to do it until we are closer to the wedding but we will have done in plenty of time. Long story short, we go back and forth for over a month of me asking her to please start my dress! She finally brings me in to try it on in September. I go in and she didn't do any alterations! She then measures me again (I am the same size I was when I tried it on in July) and tells me she will schedule the next fitting when she is done the alterations. She doesn't bring me back in until a week and a half before my wedding! Everytime I called and asked to come in, she refused to do my dress and bring me in bc she was to busy with clients dresses who were getting married before me. I was a 8 days until my wedding!!! When I go in on the Monday (my wedding was that Saturday and we were leaving Wednesday bc it was a destination wedding) the alterations were terrible!!!! The dress didn't lay flat on me, my boobs were hanging out and it was so unflattering. She literally starts arguing and yelling at me telling me its me and my eyes are bad and it must be the lighting (the same lighting I bought the original dress in!) I called the manager in and me and my mom showed her pictures of the original dress and she agreed it didn't look the same and saw all the flaws we saw. She said unfortunately they couldn't do anything and I was literally stuck with the dress! She also told me she knew that Marianna was struggling with her seamstress work and this was a common problem. Who does that!!!! She said they were afraid to tell her she couldn't do it anymore bc of her age! I was disgusted with them at that point! I wore my dress but hated it and I hate how it looks in all my pictures! They never listened to me in July when the dress came in when they could have helped me with plenty of time to make it right! The manager and Marianna just kept pushing it off and not helping me get the right dress! My second issue is with the bridesmaids dress. My two daughters who were 9 and 11 at the time were the only two bridesmaids. We ordered their dresses the same day. My 11 year old was in womens sizes and my 9 year old was very petite so I needed a dress that came in bridesmaids and junior bridesmaids. We find the perfect dress and order it. Well when the dresses came in, the junior bridesmaids dress came in a womens size 0 (my daughter was in a childrens size 8 at the time)! I said where is the junior size, this is way to big! They said "Oh the junior bridesmaid dress only comes in a womens size 0." I said why did you measure her and tell me you could order her size then! She said that was our fault. I asked if they could do alterations and they told me no bc it was way to much work and they would have to literally remake the whole dress if they did it. So I said ok then I will return it and order a new dress. She told me I couldn't return it and I had to pay for the rest! I was so pissed bc it was a mistake they made, they admitted to and still told me I had to pay for it!!!! I ended up paying for it and finding it online in her size!!! They sales people there are terrible, the manager just tries to cover up their mistakes and the seamstresses are AWFUL!!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!! Not worth the stress!!! read more

Going to start this off on a positive note. Malka is a genuinely sweet, helpful and wonderful angel... Christina has zero customer service skills, is awkward and down right just does not care. If you for some reason want to get a dress here - only make appointments with Malka. She will make you feel like the beautiful bride you are! --- I had a great experience here. Trying on dresses was fun, I finally found the one. After repeated attempts to contact these guys weekly to no avail or call back for weeks... I finally got my dress in. Actually i think the only reason I got a call back is because my mom called and that woman gets what she wants. I made an appointment to try my dress on... this is where it really went to shit. I do not cry. Like ever. Funerals, weddings... the whole spectrum. Not sure why but I don't... it's only when I am actually so angry that my emotions come out of my eyeballs. This dress, which fit like a glove when I tried it on two times before ordering was literally swimming on me. Christina was helping me try it on asking me if lost weight all this classic it's your fault nonsense. She was telling me we can take it in, you will still look great, blah blah. I'm just stilling there hysterically crying, alone because my mom lives in CT and my sister in SC and because I already freaking tried this dress on that fit perfectly. Like out of thin air... MAGICALLY... the same dress in the correct size appears out of no where. Apparently a bride surrendered her dress because she was pregnant and couldn't wear this totally fitted dress. It had no tags. Some of the beads were coming off. The scam continues I leave in tears with no real resolution except I can choose between big dress or tagless dress. I come back next week with my bestie and MIL in tow. And am told the seamstress will be there. Surprise: she left before my scheduled appointment. There's Christina again with this snotty look on her face like almost mad I am there. She gets the dresses and just leaves the room. So my friend helps me into the dress, the bigger one, and I show my MIL who worked for 20+ as a design director at Good Lad Apparel. This woman made her dress for her wedding as well as ours two weeks ago. She's legit and confirms what I know altering this dress will be a completely different dress than the one I ordered. Christina is just saying things like putting her down, telling me it's too late to buy a new dress and basically toxic to the whole experience. Malka the sweet angel sees me crying in the middle of the store now. She comes over and talks to me while MIL and bestie are like trying to figure out what we can do here. She asks me if I have the alterations for free would I feel better. And I was like I guess idk. So she tells Christina (apparently the manager) that they are going to give free alterations. Maybe Malka should run the show here. Seamstress did a great job hemming and TAKING IN my dress - she was nice too. The saga continues for sure but all in all I paid full price for a worn dress with no tags but I did get alterations for free.... and then the left strap broke an hour before the wedding was going to end. I really liked this store for their dress selection but the staff was somewhat odd, and like many other reviewers here I had big problems with the seamstress, Marianna. She was way behind schedule with my alterations, cancelled one of my appointments because she brought the wrong dress (after I waited 45 minutes), cancelled another because the dress just wasn't ready yet, and cancelled a third also because it wasn't ready yet, though this was a mistake and she actually meant to cancel with someone else. The alterations were ultimately well done, though she left a straight pin in the dress that scratched me until I found it, and one of the cups was visible so I had to trim the side of it myself. The manager gave me a free pair of earrings for all the trouble, but like other reviewers have said, she basically did nothing saying that Marianna was a consultant who didn't actually work for the shop. Check out the shop for its dress selection, but definitely find another place for the alterations. read more

Stopped in with my fiancé, no appointment as she was looking for a wedding dress (2nd marriage for both of us). We had a great experience! Went during the week about 1-1:30 on a Friday. The ladies were great, told them what we had in mind, they pointed us in the right areas to browse and also some suggestions. We found 2 dresses we both liked on her and got one. It was only the 2nd place we stopped. Spent more than we figured but it will be worth it in the end and price was still great overall for the dress picked. ** wedding was on 05/21/16** So after drafting a lengthy unfiltered 6 pages long heated review about Rena Elle, I decided to go over and shorten this review with the essentials so that this message gets across to all readers. In brief, my distress does not go to Rena Elle boutique and staff but specifically towards the seamstress that works with Rena Elle that caused me the most unbelievable stress to the day before my wedding!! To start off, Christina, the store manager is professional, patient, and attentive person to work with who actually sold me the Stella York dress that I had been eyeing 8 months prior to my wedding. She is very knowledgeable with specific designer's production time and my dress came into the store 3 months before my wedding day as she assured it would. The store contacted me immediately when my dress came in to schedule for my first fitting. The dress was at the exact measurement from how Christina advised according to the designer guideline size. Even though it fitted my body, alterations were necessary to make it perfect. Then I was introduced to Marianna, the seamstress of Rena Elle, who helped me with my first fitting and she claimed that with her years of expertise she will guide and suggest all the necessary alternations to make my dress fit like a glove. Marianna did a good job fitting the dress. The core work was done however there was still a lot of detailed work to be done (hem, bustle, belt, cups) as we discussed in the first fitting. I had my heels this time and she measured my hem to be taking in for my last and final fitting. We scheduled to meet a month later which would make it 2 1/2 weeks before my wedding. The headache really started with the 3rd, 4th, 5th fitting... During the fittings, Marianna basically gave me no results with false promises and unrealistic deadlines. We had wasted many of my weekends for me to go into the store just to add more dates for additional fittings. Never in my life have I have ever dealt with a person that claims themselves as a professional to be so arrogant, disrespectful, and unethical. Marianna starts raising her voice at me and blames me of being too particular and loosing too much weight. We get into a lengthy heated argument. I refused to pay for the remaining balance of the alterations and in return Marianna threatened to destroy my dress with her scissors if I did not pay on spot. (And for some reason the store manager never intervened with our ongoing argument.) Being the bigger person, I had to calm Marianna down and told her to just finish the work up. I had my mother pick up the gown 3 days before my wedding. Days before my wedding and I finally have my wedding dress in my hands at my home! I wish I was relieved at this moment but apparently that would be too much to ask for. Not surprisingly, the finishing of the bustle and hem was a complete MESS!! It was tulle under lay hem and all she had to do was use a pair of scissors and cut straightly all around the bottom. I kid you not that it looked like she used a preschooler assistant to cut jagged edges across the whole bottom of the dress. The hem was even worst because it looked like an accordion curtain. I contacted Christina to express my frustration but to conveniently enough Marianna was off for the entire weekend and not available. Christina offered to help but there was nothing she can do as she's not a seamstress. Fortunately I married into a very talented family that helped me re-hem and re -bustle the dress. The day before my wedding we all got together and hid all the imperfections making the gown beautiful to the eyes. I promised myself to make this dress the least stressful part of my wedding. Even though I saw so many flaws, tears, and hatred that went into the dress, the end results came out great. It looked beautiful in pictures and my wedding celebration was amazing. Please ladies if this happens to anyone remember that a dress should not justify what a wedding signifies. Wish there were an option for ZERO stars. I chose Rena Elle because they had some good reviews on official wedding website and they were able to get the dress that I wanted delivered to their retail location. Except when I worked with Diane (who is fabulous), my customer service experience was a total nightmare. The seamstress, Marianna, was highly unprofessional, rude, and did not have the work that I asked for completed on time. She messed up two of my appointments and blamed the second one on me (she lied and said it was an hour earlier than it was.) At my "final fitting" I found that she did not finish the hem on my dress and this was a little over a week before my wedding. I told her I could give her another day to do it because after that, I would not have any time to come back and pick it up (I'm 20 miles away and had other vendors to work with.) She blew up at me and said I was asking for "new changes" which I was not, and then she canceled my appointment when I was supposed to pick up my dress. (She was also very sarcastic with me and I left Rena Elle practically in tears). I tried to deal with the manager to let her know the situation and so she could remedy it and the few times that she was responsive, she basically told me there was nothing she could do. So, less than a week before my wedding, I had to scramble and cancel plans I made to accomodate Rena Elle, instead of them working with the schedule I gave them. After I FINALLY got my dress, I was told that the manager would call me to try to resolve the poor treatment I received. Guess what? She never called me. The place is overpriced, there is zero customer service from the management, or respect for oral contracts, and this vendor made my wedding planning experience extremely stressful. I do not recommend this vendor. Diane was an excellent consultant and I think she should open her own bridal shop and not be associated with this poor retail experience. read more

I had a great experience at Rena Elle Couture. I came to this location because they had a Stella York bridal dress I couldn't find anywhere else in the area, that I was hoping to wear for my big day. Rajji helped me find the dress & pulled other similar dresses for me to try on. She was helpful & knowledgable without being too pushy. I tried on a few different dresses all of which were beautifully kept. Ultimately I knew the minute I tried on the dress I came to look at that it was the dress for me. Rajji showed me a beautiful section of veils. I am very happy with my experience here I can't wait for my dress to come in. Would recommend to anyone! read more

Rena Elle Couture is the best bridal boutique around!! I went to so many other places trying to find a dress, but I just was not having a pleasant experience at any of them. Thankfully, I drove past Rena Elle and I was able to walk in without an appointment. The staff sat me down for a consultation and gave me and my bridal party water bottles while I described my perfect dress. The sales associate, Roula, gave me a dress to try on that I never would have ever thought to wear-but guess what? It ended up being the perfect dress for me!! 45 minuets after I walked into the store, I left with a dress I never in a million year would have thought to try on! And let me say, I cannot imagine my self in any other dress except for the one I bought!! I am so grateful for the staff for suggesting the dress to me. They were so caring and understanding of all my wants and needs-especially the seamstress!! I am so grateful that I drove by the place!! read more

After attending a local bridal show, we decided to take a look at the bridal gowns. We did not have an appointment and did not expect to try any gowns on. All we wanted to do was look at the selection they had. When we walked in we explained the situation to the woman at the desk. She told us that we were welcome to look. That's exactly what we did- look. We did not pull the dresses, take them off the rack, etc. All of a sudden, another woman starting scolding one of the bridesmaids for "touching" the gowns. They are in plastic bags! She was so incredibly rude, I said very loudly, "We are leaving". The woman at the desk asked what was the matter and I told her that I didn't tolerate rudeness. After a 6 month wait, the dress that arrived was VERY wrinkled, extremely scratchy, had holes in the lace, and looked as though a 6 year old made it with a bedazzling kit. Not a 1500 dress. I was in tears & they tried to convince me it would look better/ordered after some $1000+ in alterations. After seeing images the store associstes, the manager, and dress vendor/manufacturer Offered a refund. We didn't know this was an option. We thought wow they really are trying to work with us. This is so great. I was assured this was entirely possible and probably necessary. The seamstress then told me the in store model dress for the stores & manfactured dress you order are produced to different standards. I was then verbally told that if the vendor agreed to it, I would be issued a refund. In the next two days, I got a call,again assuring me, saying everything was fine and the vendor agreed to a return for my situation. I would be issued a refund in 10 days. I was so happy that my big day would be saved. Several days later the store called mentioning the vendor returned the money, and some $100+ would be kept by the store. For the most part the cost of the dress from the manufacturer was given back in full. This was Ideal for all parties. A week later I received another call from an unknown employee telling me that they usually don't issue refunds, so they were not sure they could make this happen. This blunt and borderline angry staff person then told me, that all previous interactions with the other employee were not representative of the company. After 3.5 months, the BBB, credit company, and our lawyers, we were finally issued the refuse they originally offered. read more

I purchased a prom dress from Rena Elle Couture. The saleswomen were very kind and sweet. My dress was in perfect condition when i made my first payment. I came back about three weeks later with my mother to make my final payment and schedule alterations and my mother discovered there was a hole in the front where the tulle meets the dress. The hole was there BEFORE we left the store. My mother informed one of the workers who was scheduling the fitting as she told us "no problem we will fix the hole for free". I took the dress home because i needed to get a tie color matched to it and there was no swatch. The following wednesday i came back with the dress for alterations, everything was okay until i was told the price. The seamstress wanted $225 for a dress i paid $350 for, Absolutely not. I wasn't going to pay almost the same price of the dress for alterations, I had to pay the 25$ fee for "her time", With prom only a week away i had to rush to find another seamstress. When i made it to the other seamstress she informed me where the zipper was a lot of beading is falling off and the dress looked worn and used. There was no beading falling off the dress prior to me being fitted at Rena Elle Couture. Not to mention nothing was ever done about the hole, im now left crying and in a panic a week before prom because the dress is very raggedy, My mom called the store to inform them nothing was done about the hole and there was now beading falling off possibly from when she snatched the pins out after i cancelled her alterations. On the phone i was told to bring the dress back to get the hole fixed, That wasn't an option for me as prom is a few days away and i need my seamstress to have it. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!! Never in my life, after being in 7 wedding's, have I experienced what I went through at Rena "Ripoff" Elle Couture. The bridal party found dresses here, all around the 250+ price which was completely fine (there were 4 of us so you can imagine they were getting a hefty sale between all of us) going through the final decision, we were measured to be matched with sizing according to the designer's size chart, ya know the usual, mind you this is when you are putting complete trust into the person sizing you hoping they get it right..NOPE. When my dress came in and tried it on for the first time, it wouldn't zip up all the way! Now feeling a bit self conscious, I said Ok fine we can just let it out..NOPE the seamstress said she couldn't do anything. I then was re-measured (which we did a total of 4 times basically to see if i gained weight to make it to be my fault but NOPE lost an inch or 2 so it was for sure on them) I then told them Ok fine just exchange it for the next size up..NOPE she said there were no returns/exchanges and wanted me to PAY ANOTHER 250 BUCKS FOR ANOTHER ONE!! That would make it close to 600 bucks for a dress that doesn't fit and a dress that would probably need alterations anyway which I would have most likely had to pay for because that's how they are. NOPE NOT HAPPENING! There is no knowledge, customer service let alone a care in the world at this place, they only want your money (even if it was their fault) Long story short, I took my non-fitting dress to BRIDAL MANOR where they were soooo helpful and CARING, they even gave me OPTIONS for alterations! 30 buck's later, I have my lovely fitting bridesmaid dress all ready for my sister's wedding on Saturday!! The only reason this place is getting one star instead of none is because of the sale consultant I first met being helpful, reassuring and seemed genuinely positive, after that it all became a night mare. They care more about taking your money then protecting your investment and caring about you as the customer. My first issue with this place was the fact that I was told my dress would take 8 weeks to come in, after 3 months of not hearing anything I was told I was mistaken it was actually 8 months, NOT to mention I only got this response after I had to email them for proof of reaching out because all 3 of my phone calls were not returned. 8 months go by and my fiancé is in the service and we are told we need to move out of state, so I call to inquire where is my dress, another two calls not returned so once again I email, and finally get told it's another two months, A TOTAL OF 10 MONTHS for a dress in the store I was told 2 months. Well after going back and forth about taking off my new job to drive 10 hours to jersey I tell them to just ship it, which they agreed to cover the cost, but when I call to give the shipping address the woman tried to make me pay the $70 for shipping until I told her no I was promised free shipping. Then she states when she ships it she will call back with the tracking number so I can confirm it was shipped. SHE NEVER CALLS BACK. So once again back to email I email them asking for a shipping number which I'm given, when I looked it up to ensure my fiancé and I are home because unfortunately he is based in a very active high crime rate area I find out it was delivered the day before and left on my porch. Yet it wasn't there which I'm not even shocked it was stolen because unfortunately that is how Sumter SC is. What I'm shocked about is that something that was nearly $1500 was delivered without giving me a tracking number or REQUIRING A SIGNATURE. When I emailed them all I got was a very bland response of I'm sorry and we're looking into it. Okay but how does that help me. I'm out $1500 and I'm now rushing to find a new dress with 7 months until my wedding. NEVER GO HERE. read more

Horrible customer service. The sales woman was not helpful at all during my sister-in-law's bridal appointment. Instead of helping us pull dresses that she thought my sister-in-law would like, the saleswoman was in the back of the store talking to her co-worker for half the appointment. And when it was time to try on the dresses we pulled, the sales rep just stood by the fitting room door and watched my sister-in-law put on and take off the wedding dresses herself. To top it off, when my sister-in-law was describing another dress she liked from a different bridal salon, the sales woman just responded with "Well sounds like you found the one." I had a similar poor experience last year when I was looking for my own wedding dress but thought I just had a lazy saleswoman that day and figured we could give the store another try. Unfortunately this store proved me wrong. I think this bridal salon just hires horrible sales people who are lazy, have very little knowledge about wedding dresses, and have zero interest in helping out the customer. Even if I had found my dream dress at Rena Elle Couture, I'd purchase the dress from a different bridal salon because I do not believe these sales women deserve the commission. I purchased my dress and had it altered at Rena Elle. Finding a dress with the saleswoman Diane was great. She was helpful and made suggestions. However my experience steadily declined from then on. When I found the dress I wanted, the seamstress Marianna came in to make recommendations. Though she was friendly, she made several mistakes over the months I had to work with her. My first fitting I brought my MOH to see my dress, we arrived at Rena Elle but Marianna didn't have my dress there. She "thought it was still in the shop" but it was at her house. We changed our plans to keep this appointment only to be turned away until the next weekend. The second fitting Marianna was 20-25 minutes late. The third fitting Marianna was OVER 45 mins late. There were prom girls waiting for their appointments so she must have been even more late for their appointment. I was scheduled to get my dress on the Wednesday before my Saturday wedding but when I went to pick up Wednesday she STILL had work to do. She told me to pick it up Friday instead. At each fitting we reviewed what still needed to be done but unfortunately when I picked up the dress Marianna had not put ribbon on the inside so the beading didn't itch me. The night before my wedding I had to spend over an hour putting ribbon where Marianna said she was going to put it. Thank goodness we weren't doing a rehearsal dinner. NO bride should be fixing her own dress the night before her wedding when she has paid a professional good money to get it done! While waiting for Marianna to arrive for my third fitting, my mom asked to speak to the manager, Christina. She said she would speak to Marianna and then speak to my mom again. After I picked up my dress my mom spoke to Christina again who said she would "work with us" because the seamstress experience had been so disappointing. That was in May. Christine has never called again. AND my mom had to stop at the store ON THE MORNING OF MY WEDDING because my cups weren't in the bottom of my dress bag (let alone pinned to my dress....) I had a horrible experience with this place. They have great selection and very nice salespeople. However, the manager was the worst. She was not friendly at all and gave me really hard times scheduling alterations and etc. She also asked me to bring cash for my final payment and when i asked her why it had to be cash, she couldn't answer me. Very confusing and unfriendly!! Also, I used their tailor, very sweet Greek Lady. However, she did a horrible job. They made me pick up my dress the day before my wedding and I didn't have enough time to see if there was anything wrong. I tried my dress on my wedding day and it was couple inches shorter than what it was supposed to be. There were so many other things as well. The dress was actually big for me and i had to pull my dress up the whole night!! Ugh, horrible experience. My advise to everyone who reads this: If you want to buy your dress here, do it. But do NOT use their tailor. Find yourself a good one because she really ruined my dress. She also ruined my mother's and mother in-law's dresses as well. We were all very disappointed but unfortunately there was nothing that could be done. read more
