We arrived right on time and were the only people in the store. We were brought in the back dressing area. Rosemary was so sweet and helpful. She showed me what area had my dress sizes. I picked a few dresses & started trying them on. Rosemary picked out a few as we were progressing. Very relaxing, low stress experience. I found my wedding dress! The store is special because you take the dress home from the rack. This is great when the dress is your size and style. Highly recommend coming here once you've tried other bridal stores. If you find the one, you'll go home with it.

Unfortunately, my experience was the exact opposite. I am MOB and came in with my daughter and her fiancé who is also female. I am going to mention this here although it is not something I ever think about, but seemed to be an obvious issue with some of your staff. They are both beautiful, and happen to be plus-sized. We were eyed up and down when we first arrived and then again by the sales associate, Lesley (sp?). We probably should have left right then and there. She was definitely taken aback when I introduced my daughter and her fiancé...caught herself quickly, but was clear. It is 2026, and this being Pride Month, she should have faked it better. To say she was probably the worst dress consultant I have ever had is an understatement. She questioned me on my normal clothing size three times (I wear a size 6 in street clothes and she twice said something about me being a 12...and no, not in dress sizes which I fully understand run small). This clearly indicates she doesn't know what should be her craft which I would expect from a sales consultant at a shop like Jan's. Then she didn't listen to anything my daughter had to say or me for that matter. It almost made me apologize for being selective and no one should have to do that ever, particularly when shopping for such a wonderful occasion. I did try on some dresses, despite her not showing me what I really wanted. She consistently talked about the dress sizes, unnecessarily as that is a ridiculous concern. And as we were leaving, she rambled on, unprovoked, about these lavish weddings that people have and she wonders if they'll still be married in ten years and then wished my daughter and her fiancé good luck. Very odd and made the whole experience that much worse. Such a sad, complete disappointment...

4 star on selection 5 star on service…read more4 star on the salon Searching for bridesmaids dresses was difficult because the selection was as common as they come by---plain and in at least 5 shades (if you order it) but nothing modern. The average price was $200 to $250; some range higher. Bridal gowns seemed to have better luck but since I was looking for a bridal dress to dance in, it was a dud because they only had 5 short dresses. Shirley was my consultant and was clever and fun to work with while shopping. She was witty and had great ideas. I really enjoyed working with her. There were four different rooms that were sectioned off, one section had a table with chairs. The negative is that the mirrors are flat (no 3 way view) and you cannot see the dress from behind unless you use a handheld mirror. I wouldn't buy my dress from the Macy's bridal but if a bride asked me my opinion I would still suggest going to try their dresses out. My bridesmaids didn't get their dresses from the salon but did find them on a clearance rack out on the floor (lucky!). Also, since it is located in the mall there are other department stores, retail shops and a place to grab food.

To be honest, I was pretty snotty about going initially, buying a wedding gown in a department store and all that. But once we got there, Michaela helped us look at styles (I had no idea what I wanted, even though I'd tried on a bunch of other dresses in other stores), and pulled a couple of gowns she thought I'd like. She was absolutely lovely. We narrowed down the style I liked as we went through, she let me try on dresses just for fun, and as we were going, she would pick dresses to try that helped figure out my style (Was it the lace of the last dress I liked? The skirt? The neckline? The back?). I found my dress, the second one I tried on, and after 27,000,000 others, we tried it back on, she pulled the perfect veil and it just fit. I also am in recovery from an eating disorder and really cannot know my measurements. Other bridal salons have been incredibly unaccommodating and rude and hurtful. As soon as I told Michaela I really couldn't know my measurements, she didn't even hesitate, she measured me, said it was going to be perfect, and even made sure not to show me the size she ordered for me (which I didn't even request! She just went above and beyond) so I could just be thrilled and excited and not stressed about any numbers. I didn't think I would find THE dress, but I definitely did, and I'm so happy we went. Plus, the trunk show had SO many gorgeous dresses, I was really able to tell what I liked and didn't.

I called the owner explaining to her that I shouldnt be responsible for the remaining balance of $130 because of the horrible customer service and my dress being messed up several times. I'm on the shorter side and have bigger hips, so I had originally asked for an A-line. After trying on a few of those styles and not loving any of them, they suggested I try a fit and flare. It was gorgeous!!!! They even had the seamstress there to walk me through what the alterations would look like. This was my first appointment of the day, so they encouraged me to be open about other dresses, sleep on it, and come back if I decided on one of their dresses. I ultimately bought a beautiful lace Provonius fit and flare off the rack for our wedding in Sep 2022 and I cannot be more excited to wear it!! I also love the one-on-one experience you get with Simplicity. You are the only one in there so all their attention is on you. Highly recommend!

This was the second salon I went to for my wedding dress and it was overall a very uncomfortable experience. I walked in not really knowing what I wanted with just a few pictures in hand. I showed pictures to the consultant and to the first or second picture I showed her she said, "You really like that"- questioning my preferences. She also said, 'They don't make dresses like that anymore' (this was a picture of a satin style dress- which I have seen pictures of in many of the newest bridal magazines recently so not sure what she was talking about). I also ended up purchasing a satin dress not from here obviously. Basically the entire time I did not feel welcome or listened to at all. I was really hoping that this salon would offer a better experience especially because of all of the positive reviews on the knot and wedding wire. The atmosphere was very stuffy. The consultant did not show me any dresses that I described or showed her pictures of- nothing was what I asked for. I felt like the consultant was putting me in dresses she wanted to wear herself rather than my personal style. I also had to wear gloves to "protect the sample dresses" something that seems quite extreme - like I would rather wash my hands and what about the makeup on my face do you really think white gloves are going to "protect your dresses?" I really would not recommend this place- it is just not a welcoming atmosphere. My family with me felt the same as well about this experience.

When I arrived with my mom and sister, we were treated to champagne and our own little corner to try on dresses. Rachel assisted us with everything and was just lovely. She welcomed us immediately and made us feel very comfortable. She had the dress I liked all ready to go, as well as another one I had picked out ahead of time. I chose a few more and she assisted me with the zipper/clipping when needed. Rachel even showed me some pretty clips to pair with the hairstyle I have in mind. At first I thought that the one hour time slot they give you wouldn't be nearly enough time, but it was perfect! The whole experience was so wonderful and easy, and I said yes to the dress!
