The work was never finished and I was ghosted by them:::::I've been avoiding writing this for over a year because I really don't even want to spend time on this or get my blood pressure up. Jeremy and Stacey were so nice and great to talk to in person, in the end I feel duped by them. Jeremy seemed like he was down to earth and ready to make things happen, he often offered fixtures and things that he had pulled from gut-jobs. He seemed like he was down to problem solve and make things happen. I trusted them and was really excited in the beginning. I was pregnant with my first child when I hired them to do our bathroom. My kid is now 19 months old and the work is still not finished. I don't even have the energy to truly outline all of my complaints. The biggest issue I have is that they have refused my calls and emails and ghosted me for a year now. I have been nothing but kind and respectful. I delayed this review to give them the benefit of the doubt and wait for them to get back to me or finish the work. I am so upset and disappointed - I really wish I had NEVER done this. I feel like I wasted over 50k and had a bad job done. There is ONE outlet in the entire space, the switches and outlet seem to be writed insanely (I still can't tell what goes to what and why the switch at the bottom of the stairs overrides some things but not others), theres a hanging exhaust fan, no vent to the roof, gaps between trim and tiles, hammered and mismatched fixtures. They convinced me I should get a custom vanity made by them because it was the only one that would fit and be ready on time, which cost more than the one that I really wanted and by the time they made it I could have gotten the one I really wanted from West Elm. I had to contract my own stone cutter and they generously came back and forth multiple timess over the course of a week because the bradley built project manager couldn't communicate correctly about who was responsible for doing what and when. Their employees were constantly quitting or being let go. One day, the contracted tiler came to my house and demanded to be paid because Bradley Built had gotten into an argument with him about the cost and then they just hadn't paid him? Who knows, because of course they didn't answer phones or emails for weeks on end. But I was stuck in the middle of it! They tout their communication and transparency and pride in their finishing work, they took over 9 months to do the bulk of the work and then ghosted me. Leaving me with a newborn and a shower that I had to connect myself and now I am finally giving up, writing this review, and calling all over town finding electricians, roofers, tilers and plumbers to finish the job they were paid to do. It was my first experience as a homeowner working with a contractor and it lived up to ALL of the horror stories. Unless you're rolling in money, and can be their number one priority I guess they just don't care. Makes me really sad. I would love a simple apology, honestly. read more

This man is a crook. Years ago I lived in Kenilworth, IL., Jeremy Bradley was contracted to build 2 custom entry doors and bed build out with shelving for us in our new construction home. He was recommended by our architects who were friends of ours, so unfortunately, we trusted the source. We provided him with a deposit in the amount of $4000 for the bed and $4000 for the doors. He made some visits, took measurements, and then never returned our calls and just kept our money...just as simple as that. We consequently sued and won by default as he never showed up to any court dates, nor made any contact with us despite our numerous efforts over the years, we only managed to put a lien on him and his previous company, Graywater, which he subsequently bankrupted to avoid paying. It took us over 4 separate visits from court appointed servers, then had to hire our own private one who consequently served his wife Stacey which was admissible. So, he just opened a new company, Bradley Built and put his wife up as the registered agent. There were similar experiences with other customers with his previous company which you can read on the reviews, which is why I assume he just keeps changing the company names. Please feel free to call me, I am a new construction builder and own Halcyon Development Group. There is no "misunderstanding" or anything of that nature. We work with 100's of subcontractors every year in my business, and never experienced such a theft, this guy is simply a fraud. Do yourself a favor and just read other reviews on Bradley Built as I receive on average 5-6 calls a year on people he has cheated or people wanting to find out about my experience before working with him. This is a repeated pattern for this guy, and there has been no self-reflection, no accountability for this man, year after year. He is exactly the type of person who gives contractors in the construction business a bad name, however, I can assure you most if not all are honorable, it just takes a small minority of unethical people to hurt perceptions in our business. read more

Do you think it's weird how the descriptions of their various companies change? How they used to market themselves as general contractors but are now pretending that they are only cabinet makers? Do you think it's weird how every time someone posts a negative review, they claim they have no contract or records of doing business with them? When the people are calling them out by name? Do your homework on these people before you work with them. Ask them for references. Don't trust reviews online without meeting real world references. Jeremy and Stacey took a $100k+ deposit from us and barely did any work before claiming they ran out of money and stopped answering our calls. Multiple people associated with the job claimed they were unpaid and were lied to by the Bradleys. Anyone with questions can contact me directly. 773-571-3228. After allegedly completing the job in May 2023 and receiving weekly or biweekly communication from owners, Bradley Built LLC has not: -reinstalled the water heater or otherwise addressed the allegations of two different companies, Home Depot and Chicago HVAC, saying their water heater installation was not to code and therefore they cannot install a new dryer near the water heater (Home Depot) or move the water heater (Chicago HVAC) -addressed why they did not share PVEX is not to code in the city of Chicago when suggesting its use in new plumbing as a precaution against pipe freezes, or offer to put in a false wall with insulation to address pipe freezes which would be to code (that this happened was brought to light after a flood, when other plumbers and sewer experts were brought out for the flooding and pointed out the issue) -filled in a pit in the basement they left in addition to the ejector pit or gotten on the phone with owners to explain why the pit is there (homeowners only found out about the pit during a flood when other companies came out and questioned them about the pit) -dead ended a water valve in our basement, leaving it live and currently able to pour water into our basement -recaulked the bathtub that is peeling after 5 months, or removed the debris that was stuck there during installation. Attempts to work with Bradley Built LLC for the past four months or even speak to the owners have not addressed any of the above issues. Company has actually stopped responding to emails. read more

I own a property management company and we were rehabbing a condo in a building downtown. We got into a bit of a jam with the bathroom tiling and needed some help...Quickly. I reached out to a few contractors or vendors that could do tile, and do it well, and who were also available to do it on short notice. We did have a few vendors reach out to us, and decided to go with Bradley Built. One of the things that I was impressed with is that they did not use the fact that I was in a pinch and needed it done quickly as a reason to either gouge me on the price or to try to make me feel like they were doing me a favor by "allowing me to hire them." In fact, Jeremy (the owner) sent me a very fair bid for what we needed, and actually came back to me and said something to the effect of (paraphrasing here) "I know you are in a pinch and over-budget, and I want to help you out, so if you need me to, I can work with you a little more on the price to help you out." Well, he was right...We were a little over-budget due to circumstances that had nothing to do with him, so I told him that we didn't need any further consideration on the price, as his initial bid was very fair...All that I asked is that he promised to do a good job and to get the job done in a timely manner...And they delivered. They finished in 4 days and did everything perfectly. The tiler, Wilson, is very good and very detail oriented, which is becoming rare in the contracting industry. The owner, Jeremy, came through on the last day to do a walk-through with me to make a list of any items that I wanted addressed before they finished. We came up with a small list of things that were taken care of in about 2 hours, and then we were done. I am not the easiest nor the most difficult person for contractors or sub-contractors to work with, but Jeremy and his crew are very customer service oriented, which was very awkward for me, because I am used to working with people who are constantly fighting with me or my staff and screwing things up. Bottom line, these guys did a great job in a timely manner, and were very fairly priced...I will use them again, and would recommend them to others for sure. read more

Whatever you do, DO NOT let Jeremy touch your plumbing. He is not a plumber, even for something easy. He renovated our kitchen and bath and handled the plumbing himself and it's never been the same since, and not in a good way. A real plumber just left our house after trying to fix our clogged kitchen sink and he couldn't believe the botched job Jeremy put together two years ago. Infuriating. read more

Jeremy did an excellent job installing a dryer vent for our second floor laundry hookup at our home. He was fast to respond, provided an accurate and reasonable quote, charged cost for the materials (although minimal in this case), and came on-time, per our arrangement. He was also friendly and efficient, finishing the work faster than I expected, with good quality, and keeping me updated real-time on work completed and work to-be-done. Two more items to note - my yelp request was sent on a Friday and he performed the installation on a Sunday, as I had asked to have this completed as soon as possible. No up charge. Second, he seemed to have substantial knowledge and experience in building homes, which was also helpful for several other items we were looking into at our home. Overall, I had a great experience using their services and feel like they are trustworthy and did quality work. I will definitely reach out to them for other services. Jeremy (the owner) was very accessible and responsive to my messages, responding within hours/minutes depending on the time of day. I was able to get a quote for replacing an over-the-range microwave and schedule the appointment through Yelp messages without any issues. The other handyman services I had contacted quoted much higher prices and didn't have availability for weeks, however Jeremy was able to give me an appointment the next day with a much more reasonable quote. They arrived on time and were able to remove the old microwave and install the new one in about an hour. They were very professional and personable. They cleaned up after themselves and made sure the cabinet doors cleared the bumper of the microwave before finishing up. There were no surprises with the bill as they charged me precisely what that had quoted. I was also able to get the invoice emailed to me, make the payment online, and get a digital copy of the receipt which I really appreciated. This was refreshing because other services I have used provide handwritten receipts and only accept cash or checks or use an awkward credit card procedure like writing down the number. read more

I had Bradley Built out to install a small, custom-sized door on a crawl space in my basement. Jeremy was easy to communicate with and accommodating to getting me onto his team's schedule during the busy 4th of July holiday. Things got off to a bit of a shaky start as the job was to start at 10am and the carpenter didn't arrive until 12:30pm. Jeremy did let me know that the carpenter would be about an hour late due to the door they ordered not being in quality condition, but was a bit out of the loop on the additional hour and a half wait time. Once the carpenter did arrive, things went well. He was respectful, clean and as quiet as he could be. He finished the door nicer than was expected and brought in additional tools to ensure that the door fit perfectly into the custom space. Once he left, the area was spotless. Despite the arrival hiccup, I would definitely recommend the Bradley Built team and will be working with them in the future! read more

RUN don't walk from Bradley Built. I hired Jeremy to do a few smaller jobs and he did a good job so I fired him to do a full basement renovation. HUGE mistake! Same experience as most, Jeremny talks a good game and shows up for a week or so but work went down hill real fast. Not only did he tried to charge me more at every turn and sneak higher charges into his bills, his work was absolute crap to the point of not even measuring things correctly. Not to mention: a) not showing up for weeks at a time; b) hiring incompetent subs then sending them to my house to collect their money; c) flooding my basement then charging me to clean iut up; and d) causing close to $1k in property damage without even so much as acknowledging it. Jeremy is the worst contractor I have had to deal with and ultimatly all of his work needed to be completely re-done. Unless your into wasting your money find someone else who knows what they are doing and who actually has some pride in their work because you certainly won't find that with Jeremy/Bradley Built. read more

We had a great experience working with Jeremy and his team on a substantial renovation of our townhome that included a gut-rehab of our master bath down to the studs, the addition of a new door to our third bedroom, refinishing our deck, installing a new exterior door, and building a pantry in the space vacated by removal of our stackable washer-dryer unit from our kitchen. He was always up for the challenge, never gave us a hard time about "one more thing" and billed us very reasonably. At the last minute, the electrician who was supposed to handle our job became unavailable and Jeremy was even able to help with that, not to mention cleaning up a lingering mess left by the tile installers. Not long ago after some bad contractor experiences, I was telling someone that the next billionaire will come from someone cracking the code having a contractor/remodeler that communicates, does what they say they'll do, goes above and beyond and has meticulous, high-touch attention to detail. Well, that was before I met Jeremy and Bradley Built. He has been working on a complex fireplace remodel that requires not just taking down the old mantel and a new one, but includes crafting a detailed TV encasement over the stone fireplace with the doors on a pulley system. He has installed the mantel, figured out some wonky measurements, used his carpentry skills to fit the mantel and build the TV encasement and tiled the inside of the firebox. He is patient with us as we ask questions, wonder about things and change course on various things. He is also a licensed electrician in the area which came in handy when we hit a speedbump on a light he was hanging and rather than bring an electrician in, he was able to tackle it on his own. We are finishing up the work, now and once I have finished pictures I will post. Also, we have him bidding on other work in the house, which is the best testament to having a contractor that does what he will say he will and more. I recommend Bradley Built and Jeremy to the highest degree. read more

We hired Jeremy to do several handyman jobs in our newly constructed home. He put together IKEA desks, hung big pieces of art, hung shades, coat hooks, curtains and shelves. It's these details that make a house a home and Jeremy executed with care and precision. He was always on time and ready with a solution for a tricky corner or a heavy piece of art. We'll hire Jeremy again for these smaller jobs and will have him to to bid on a bigger job, too, now that we know he can handle a building a deck, an addition, a house. I began researching a handyman on a Sunday to do a few tasks I had to get done. I filled out a yelp form sent it to 4 companies, and Bradley Built got back to me quickly, long before anyone else did. The price he gave me turned out to be less than the other company's who responded. He wanted pictures of what I needed done, so when he arrived a couple of days later, he knew exactly what to bring. I live downtown Chicago and workers in the past don't like to deal with the traffic or parking, and turn the job down. He didn't mind, and even arrived on time. The work was done quickly and efficiently, and looks great. Bradley Built is a real pro and this whole project couldn't have been any easier. read more

I don't know what's going on with Jeremy, but I can validate the things other 2018 reviews have said: took the money and ran, did minimal work, didn't deliver on things as promised, didn't finish the work, left things sloppy, overcharged, hasn't responded, didn't communicate when things wouldn't be done (or when they would)... Even his subcontractors came after me HARD for money... I'm hurt and disappointed. We had a big job we were looking forward to sending his way, but I'm sad to say you just can't trust him. read more

We hired Bradley Built to gut renovate 2 of our bathrooms and replace all of our interior and closet doors. Jeremy did a great job and made the process seamless. He is super responsive -- responding to my texts day or night within minutes. If there was ever a concern or issue he rectified it quickly and made sure everything was exactly the way we wanted it. He used a few different contractors for some of the work, all of whom were great, but Frank in particular was wonderful. We worked with Bradley Built on our new, old Oak Park home. Like most Oak Park homes, there were some structural issues that needed to be addressed. A previous owner had enclosed the front porch but hadn't added the necessary support, so we had to have a cross beam sistered. There were also a couple "temporary" support beams that had been in our basement for a very long time and needed to be replaced with real support beams. Jeremy is a long time resident of Oak Park and is super familiar with dealing with these types of issues. They seemed alarming to us, but he was very reassuring and knowledgeable. Just had Jeremy at Bradley Built do a large project for me in a 2200 SF commercial space. He knocked down some walls, removed flooring, did some minor electrical work and actually introduced us a to another vendor to finish off some drywall and painting work. He has just been amazing to work with. He was ALWAYS in communication with us and even helped us go back and forth with our Building Association on getting our project(s) approved. He really went above and beyond. He sent us daily update photos of our space so we could track progress. If anything came up that he thought we should know about he called us right away to clarify what we wanted done. We could not ask for more. We even met a few of his workers in our space and they were delightful as well AND Jeremy was hands-on with the whole project, he wasn't just subcontracting our work out. We were very impressed and will definitely be using Jeremy at Bradley Built in the future. This was a large project in our eyes, and Jeremy really made the process a breeze for us. read more

Quality and fair prices. Had a deck and pergola (in the city, not easy to do) to refinish and restain after years of neglect and a sloppy previous refinish. Jeremy and team took the time to actually sand down every board (I guarantee you, no deck refinishing company will do that as complete and as well as they did), replaced cotton boards, made recommendations on how to avoid cupping and rotting, stained, touched up and stained again. The finished product is absolutely beautiful, you can tell that Jeremy and company really care about quality. That is the key, so many companies out there run through a job as quickly as possible to make the best buck, that is not this company. Hopefully he can help me with an outdoor kitchen next! read more
