I walked out of this shop with two gorgeous items- both from the clearance rack! Whoa now. I bought an absolutely divine satin and marabou feather wiggle dress from the 50s/60s and a beautiful 80's top with an intricate applique. Although the dress has some tears (which I do not care about) and a hard to see stain (which I also do not care about)- it was an absolute steal at $20! The gorgeous shirt- just $10. Their selection of items is also amazing. The front of the shop is dedicated to vintage reproductions (aka new dresses), and the middle to back is everything vintage- dresses, skirts, pants, sweaters, shoes, jewelry, bags, and even a small men's section! The pricing of everything else was fair- considering their great condition. I was even surprised by the Vintage Repros pricing, as all of them were very affordable! The service was also of course, amazing. The name of the woman who helped me escapes me- but she really was lovely! She offered to hold or put items in the dressing room for me, and checked up on me to make sure everything was ok. It was also just a joy conversating with her! We went in there for my daughter's 13th birthday to pick up some vintage butterfly clips and vintage inspired shades. Of course since I'm plus size in the store now has a legitimate true vintage plus size section I was rifling through all of the things I really wanted. I'm attending a wedding next week with a vintage 1960s sequin dress that I got there over seven years ago. Anytime I need something special that's where I go. It's very large, and one of the book aisles is partially blocked by chairs, alas. I ended up with more books, three of which I already had, sadly. They don't allow book returns or exchanges, which does suck. I also found some fun old DVD sets, like McHale's Navy and Gilligan's Island. My grandmother was friends with Tina Louise's mother. An odd bit of trivia, lol. Sometimes the pure innocence of old, old shows is relaxing. I also snagged an unusual handkerchief vase. It will work very well for huge flowers like hydrangeas or peonies. Prices are usually fair. There was an entire set of china for $50, and crystal wineglasses were $5 or so for sets of two. One thing that I like about Savers is that they usually price sets together, unlike other chains that price every piece separately. While this can make sense if you only need one, selling in sets is more practical. How often do people need one curtain? The only time that I ever bought one curtain, it wasn't in a thrift. I cut it up and made two cafe curtains. This Savers also has one GIANT advantage over other Savers: you can take the carts out of the store!! Woohoo!! Because I mostly buy books and crystal, this is HUGE. I was delighted. And returned the cart to the store, of course. They had two unmanned registers and the usual self-checkouts. There were four employees chatting by the registers, and when I asked if it was possible to be checked out, a nice man said immediately that he would help me. So while it's disappointing that I already had three of the books, I will just donate them to the Yellow Barn. There is a massive clothing selection, but I don't need any clothes. I did look at some jeans out of curiosity. Prices range from $7 to $15, roughly, depending on brand. I love jeans, but only wear a fairly narrow range of brands. They rarely end up in thrift stores. I did luck out years ago and found a pair of Roberto Cavalli in my size, but that was truly rare.

I'm a female who actually enjoys home improvement projects so this store was right up my alley. Keep in mind it's a warehouse, the signs are (mostly) handwritten, and you're kind of left on your own. Have your measurements ready and get going! They offer everything from kitchen cabinets to doors to appliances. Some of the items they sell may not be in the BEST shape but everything is lower-price and you can definitely make do with what they have. I can't wait to take some measurements of my kitchen and come back to pick up some ceramic pieces!

I go by Ms. Pepper Rose, and how appropriate to buy a dress with part of my name in the title. This company really lives up to their name. The dresses are crafted with love and they ship quickly. These dresses are much more affordable, than similar companies specializing in vintage and retro apparel. I recently wore the dress pictured, known as "Mad for Plaid", to the most famous dance hall in the great state of Texas. Elvis, Willie Nelson, and even Johnny Cash have played at Gruene Hall. Even though the bands were the center of attention...so was I. So many compliments and folks wanting to take pics with me. I ended up with a VIP bracelet...AND swing dancing with the lead singer of a 50s Las Vegas band called Lance and the Lovers. #s Truly a night to remember made possible by this company, my stylist, and an amazing makeup artist.
