I think that's easier than trying to book multiple services online. Anyway, I went alone Wednesday as a pre-birthday celebration. It was so relaxing. I came early to enjoy tea and rub my feet on the salt domes in the waiting area. There are skincare products and even jewelry that you can look at if you wish. Red light therapy 7/10: The worker was very clear with her instructions. It was a nice 20 minutes away from my phone. Chairs weren't too comfy in this booth. I had some time to sit down with my feet on the salt domes again, drinking my tea. Maaan, I would give the salt domes a 10/10 just by themselves. I tend to have cold feet so they made my feet feel LOVELY, especially with this cold weather. Zen bed 8/10: super relaxing, warm bed. Ocean sounds. Heated & weighted eyemask. I almost fell asleep. Coconut scalp massage + 30 minute custom massage 8/10: My masseuse was soft spoken and listened when I asked for a little more pressure. She even recommend that I try a deep tissue massage next time. She did a great job focusing on my neck which is what I asked for. Again, the bed was warmed. The room's lighting was very aesthetic. Really set the mood.

My normal esthetician, Sherry is no longer there and I had my first appointment with HeeSun. I selected the 90 minute purifying facial. And it was amazing! A small massage is included in the 90 minute facials and she is wonderful! My skin is glowing and I feel super relaxed. Glenda's is a nice, small, quaint little day spa. Please do not go expecting what you would find at the larger, fancy chains. Those are nice on occasion, don't get me wrong. I would certainly recommend Glenda's and now HeeSun who I am going to begin visiting regularly! I had previously rated my experience a 4 star. I've bumped it up today based on my experience with HeeSun. Just a note. There is a checkin special here through Yelp which does not appear to be valid. The receptionist indicated this is not supposed to be listed here, so until they pull it, you will likely have issues redeeming it.

It's in a cute, little white house on a side street in Bel Air, away from all the big stores and traffic. The spa is on the second level and as you are going up the stairs you can hear slow, relaxing music playing. I love that the setting for this spa is in a house because it makes it feel much more homey and relaxing. The "trendy" spas seem too busy with people rushing around and I can't fully relax. The atmosphere here is very calm and soothing and definitely made my massage more enjoyable. Roseanne was my masseuse and she was very friendly. While I was filling out the initial visit form, she introduced herself and offered me a cup of water. She took me to the room and we talked about what areas I would like her to focus on and then she stepped out so I could get undressed. The next hour was completely wonderful and relaxing. Roseanne concentrated on my upper back and lightly touched upon other areas, just as I requested. After the hour was over, Roseanne left the room and I got dressed and met her back in the main waiting room where she gave me another cup of water. We chit chatted for a few minutes and then I left and felt so rejuvenated. I would definitely return for another massage :)

When I explained that it is illegal to charge any type of fee on debit card transactions, the GM argued with me and tried to tell me it's not a credit card processing fee. Ironically, it just happens to be 3%! As a client, it is not my responsibility to pay your credit fee/overhead fee. That is your cost of doing business! Also, I believe you take that deduction as a business expense on your taxes. Most importantly, in all US states, it is illegal for merchants to charge a fee for using a debit card, including surcharges. This is because the Durbin Amendment prohibits debit card surcharges. While some states have laws restricting or prohibiting credit card surcharges, debit cards are specifically exempt, meaning businesses cannot add fees for using them. In this tough economy, I'm surprised a business would attempt a money grab for services that are discretionary in nature, and typically, only received as the budget allows.

I had a gift card that I wanted to redeem. I didn't know how much was on it so I called and they…read moresaid they could look it up over the phone using the number on the back of the gift card. The person on the phone told me it was for $150. I asked how much for a 60-min full body massage and they said $130. I was like Great! So I booked an appointment (6 weeks out). This was my first time at any Massage Envy and was very excited for it. Few things left me feeling disappointed.... 1. In the room they walk you to where typically you sit and begin relaxing your mind, there was no tranquil music, water, or anything that resembled anything more than a doctor's office waiting room. 2. Afterwards, they did not offer any water or appear to have any water available. I brought a big water jug with me but intentionally left it in my truck knowing that ALL massage places offer plenty of water after massages. Staying hydrated immediately following a massage is essential and every massage place I've ever been to always has plenty of water available - pretty basic and standard. The woman who performed the massage said, stay hydrated, on my way out and I was thinking ok, can I have a cup of water then? Not even offered. 3. Upon checking out, I was informed my gift card was only for $130 and not the $150 I was told over the phone. Ok, honest mistake (I always try to give the benefit of the doubt). Then was informed the massage was $145 not the $130 I was told when booking. I was told their rates JUST WENT UP, $15. I said, so when I booked it was $130, you raised your rates since then and you all don't honor the appointments that were booked prior? "Unfortunately not" was the answer. So I went from having a $150 gift card for a $130 massage, to having a $130 gift card for a $145 massage. That's a $35 swing just like that. Then they tried to sell me a membership. Ha. Yea no thanks. My advice to this franchise owner, at the VERY least - OFFER YOUR CLIENTS WATER AFTER A MASSAGE! You might be the only massage establishment that does not do this. Especially since you are the most expensive place in town.
