This is a very nice spa. I've only been here for facials so I can't comment on the other services. It's very modern, appears quite clean and sleek inside. I try to come every few months for a relaxing facial. My experience today was not as pleasant as my other two visits. I've been trying out different estheticians to see which one I like best for my facial. I booked at a certain time to try one a specific esthetician only for a different person to be there on the day of my appointment, saying the original esthetician is doing massages all day. I guess my visit must have been one of the earlier ones bc there was no one water available; it's usually in the lounge area. As it was early in the day, I was surprised that there were no slippers my size (7), the tissue box was empty at the counter in the changing area, and there was nearly no toilet paper left. I hope these are all anomalies because my prior two experiences were more pleasant. Overall I'd give this place a 4/5 but if today had been my only experience there, it would have been a 3/5. I'm hoping my next visit will be more pleasant. read more

First rating is for the salon itself: I was promptly greeted upon entering and directed to the seating area to wait for my stylist. Checked restroom and they were large and clean. Seating area also is clean but behind a large wall-little distasteful IMO. Salon is large and split into two sides for nails and hair & didn't see where the massage section was located. Parking is a bit difficult for handicap. There's plenty of parking across the "street " in main parking lot for complex and only 2 handicap parking spots I saw on side of buildings which still require a bit of a walk. Just FYI if you're needing a handicap parking place or assistance. Overall the staff was friendly and helpful. 4/5 Now to review my stylist Stephanie-who I have been seeing for years. She's great! I was early & she took me back early to get started. Usually see her at the White Marsh location but they're closed for remodeling. She is always friendly and professional asking me exactly how I want my hair done and she is always very helpful with suggestions on the cut & styling products for my hair type. I highly recommend Stephanie for highlights/lo-lights, haircuts and up do's (prom/wedding etc). 5/5 Thanks Stephanie & Jennifer who assisted today. Both great! read more

45 minute massage was wonderful! Teresa was my masseuse and she was great. Felt so relaxed after that I could have fallen asleep if I could!

They just called us 10:50 AM on Valentines Day to cancel our couples massage that we booked over a month ago. They offered no other service options to replace and didn't seem to care a lick, just wanted to get us off the phone. Obviously every other place is booked solid today, so we're out to dry because we chose them. Lesson learned. read more

I booked a mani/pedi online. They ask for your credit card to hold. (Will never do that again). No confirmation call - nothing. I sincerely thought it was today - I'm pretty diligent about putting it in my phone. I went in and they informed me that I had an appointment yesterday. I received no confirmation call nor did they even call to check up. I went in and I was so upset. I asked did they charge my credit card and they did They charged me $80. No offer to make another appointment - no offer to have someone do it today - no offer to maybe take the charge off - nothing. It was an honest mistake and the customer service was terrible. I've gotten my hair done by Leslie here for about 5 or 6 years now. I've also gotten a few massages, a few bikini waxings and a few manicures and pedicures. Everyone from the front desk staff to the beautician/esthetician staff is always very nice and professional. Leslie is a lovely human all around. Only reason it's not 5 stars is that it's SUPER hard to schedule a manicure and pedicure. Even a week out. You better plan ahead 2 weeks if you wanna get in for either of those services. read more

I'm only giving them one star because of the nail technician Stephanie (who deserves 5 stars). I made an appointment purposely to get three things done at the same time. When I made the appointment I said I needed to leave by a certain time. I was told in order for me to get an appointment where I could get a manicure, pedicure and a facial was to come 4 WEEKS from that day on a Monday at lunch time. When I arrived for my appointment I reiterated that I needed to be out of there by a certain time. The receptionist told me that she would make sure that that would be done then directed me to the lounge. I waited 45 minutes and finally went up to the front desk and asked what was going on with my appointment. It seems they canceled my facial and just put me in with the nail tech. What was supposed to be a day of relaxation and no stress ended up being extremely stressful and frustrating. If it wasn't for the nail tech working behind the scene to move things along, I probably would have just walked out. I will not return and I've asked my kids not to buy me gift certificates for spa on the boulevard in the future. read more

I have always had a wonderful experience here, but yesterday was the icing on the cake! Went in to see Santiago for the first time yesterday, and it was hands down the best massage I've ever had. He was soft spoken, kind, and professional...and his massage work can't possibly be beat. For any females debating getting a massage with a man, I definitely get that it seems more comfortable to get it done by another woman , but you will regret not getting one done by him! 10/10. read more

i was not impressed at all with a recent pedicure at the spa on the boulevard in abingdon, maryland. I actually have very nice feet and toenails, and all hygiene for that matter, but the woman who did the pedicure made numerous disparaging comments about my toenails and feet in general. ummmm yes, really. in addition, the quality of the service was only fine. the i have spent half the price for a much better service. it was clean. the people at the front desk were not especially nice or friendly. seems like they have made improvements over the years, so it is a bummer to say that overall, the experience was a real turnoff. i don't think i will return. read more

I went to STB for the first time about 1.5 weeks ago and had a bad experience with one of the stylists. My hair came out completely different then what I wanted/ expected. I contacted the salon and they were very apologetic and wanted to fix my hair. I was very happy with their customer service and their prompt communication. When I came to get my hair fixed they matched me with Lynnette, who is usually at salon on the Avenue. She did a fabulous job!! She was clearly very experienced and knowledgeable! She fixed my hair to exactly want I wanted and I could not be happier. I would recommend her to anyone! read more

I don't even know where to start. This salon is amazing. I move every 2-3 years do to my job & the most challenging thing is finding a new salon. I found Spa on the Boulevard shortly after arriving. I have had virtually every service they provide done. I have enjoyed each experience. But I have my hair cut, colored, & styled every 2-3 months by Emily & my brows, etc. done every two weeks religiously by Julie. They're both amazing. Truly patient because I can be a pain at times. I arrived at 3:20 for my appointment for a haircut which I thought was at 3:50. I always arrive early. While I was walking in, I got a call from the receptionist asking me to reschedule my appointment since I was late. I asked if they would take me since It was 10 minutes late. The receptionist said they would not take me because it would put Leslie too far behind and Leslie was running late as it was. Poor customer service - I tip at 20 % as well as tip the person who washes my hair. I have been asked twice to reschedule my appointment, at the last minute, when Leslie was sick. This Salon is very nice! When you walk in you already feel pampered cause it looks so fancy and feels calming. The people who work there are really friendly and make you feel comfortable right away. This company is horrible and so are the stylists. They do not stand behind their work nor do they have any standards or professionalism. I had to get a full color correction and dye my hair completely black after seeing Lindsay. I asked for face frame balayage (cool brown) and I ended up with a hot mess. They wouldn't give me my money back for this hack job and were very unprofessional at handling my complaint. BTW they have a 10 day policy for complaints and will only handle the fix internally even if you don't trust them anymore. I was within the window but they keep claiming it has been more than 10 days. My original complaint was on day 9! Either way - I could have done my own hair and ended up having better results. read more

I had a summer perm and cut which was spectacular and had many compliments. Went back for another perm "a little more curly on top" and came out looking like a poodle plus the same service was an add'l $30!!! My hair is so freakin curly I have to use a large curling iron to make it halfway presentable. Back in the day, stylists kept notes on customers' rod color. Apparently not anymore despite customers spending a small fortune. Not sure why but I am unable to find a stylist who is consistently great. I've had multiple massages (shout-out to Kim), a facial that changed everything i knew about skin (by Katie, i believe her name was), nail appointments with mom for Mother's Day, and have found the best hair care ever here. Jen Vetter has been doing my hair for two years now and kills it every time. Cut, color, tone--whatever. She is so professional and talented. The decor is much nicer than White Marsh and the staff was outstanding. I was there for a simple hair cut, but was still treated to first class service. They are a full service salon offering massages, facials, etc. It's unlikely I'll be back because it's way out of my way, but I would recommend it to those in the area. read more

I find their haircut prices much more reasonable than the salon up in Bel Air, and the staff here are much more friendly on top of it. Their spa services come with complementary access to the steam room and sauna, which are nice facilities, definitely worth dropping in (bring your bathing suit and show up before your spa appointment. read more

This place is amazing!! I got a 60 min facial and did not even ask the price because I was treating myself to some well deserved indulgence. When I was taken back to the "locker room" (I don't even know if this is what you would call the area, it was so much nicer than any locker room I've ever been in), and was offered use of the sauna and steam room while I wait, my imagination was adding up the bill. The facial was everything that I expected (except I did not look 20 years younger after, lol). This review is definitely overdue! I have been seeing Britney for manicures and pedicures and it has changed my life! Prior to meeting Britney my nails were a wreck from going to other places. They were thin and damaged from improper removal of gel and too much buffing. Since I've been seeing Britney my nails have gotten so much better and now I can keep them a little longer without them breaking. I have been going to "Spa on The Avenue" in White Marsh for years. Unfortunately they are closed for restoration right now so I thought it would be fine to go to one of their partners, Spa on The Boulevard. I walked in and loved their set up. The woman at the front desk was very kind to me. She told me my esthetician would be out shortly. I found myself walking around before finding their seating area -behind the front desk, almost hidden. Megan came out to greet me and was very sweet from beginning to end. The reason I have to give Spa on The Boulevard 2 stars is because she didn't ask my skin routine, skin type, or any allergies/ sensitivities I had. This was always asked at Spa on The Avenue. I ended up with very skinny brows when I just asked for a clean up and a little shaping. I have sensitive skin but because she didn't ask, she used regular wax strips on me. My eyebrows are still red, irritated, itchy, warm, and painful. It has almost been 24 hours. On my left eyebrow there is a big chunk of skin she waxed off which didn't appear until hours after the appointment. Megan was very kind, social, and pleasant, but the whole staff did not seem as professional as the women I have met through Spa on The Avenue. Unfortunately, I will not be coming back to have my eyebrows done. read more

EXCELLENT! We had a 12 lady Baby Shower at the SPA on the Boulevard and it was a SMASHING SUCCESS! All of the reservations were expertly managed by Kelsey. All of the staff were exceptional and well trained. We had all of the different SPA Treatments and EVERYONE raved! The space was large and clean. Friendly and helpful! We had the area set aside in the back for small talk and light snacks that we provided, Perfect! My daughter and all of the guests had a wonderful time. My husband and I had a baby over a year ago and hadn't taken any time since then to pamper ourselves. We decided to treat ourselves and schedule the couples "Serenity Package" that they offer at the Spa. We were told to come early and take advantage of the sauna before our appt started. It was really unique and beneficial to begin the relaxation process by sitting in the steam. We got our robes & slippers on in the big locker rooms they provide (complete with LOTS of amenities) and sat in a big beautiful room while we drank fresh fruit flavored water. A lady named Shannon greeted us and we went back in our own private room to a large bath tub filled with amazing aromatherapy water with lemon water on the side to drink and 2 cool face towels. The water was the absolute perfect temperature. We sat in there for 20mins, we were asked half way if we needed a refill on our drinks, and then were told to drain the water and change out of our wet clothing to begin the massage. We had a quick consultation with our masseuses. Brenda took care of my husband and Shannon took care of me. We were asked to pick out our choice of oils but we told them to surprise us. We then both had the best massages of our lives. My husband had his feet wrapped in warm towels, the pressure was perfect, the temperature in the room was spot on. It was SO relaxing. At no point in the massage did I think I was cold or uncomfortable. I am a really hard person to mentally relax and Shannon was able to do that. My husband agreed that it was incredible. Thinking we were finished, we got our robes back on but THEN, we were led back into the big relaxation room where they had a tray of assorted cheeses, strawberries, blueberries, pumpkin cheesecake and champagne at our own private table. It was incredible. It was above and beyond a relaxing experience. We will definitely be back when we're due for another exquisite day of pampering. And we will absolutely request the same ladies! Went in for a consultation appointment before my actual appointment. Spoke with a stylist and explained what I was looking for and showed several photos. The stylist recommended a particular color service but pricing was never discussed. I checked the prices on their website afterwards so I thought I had a general idea of what I would be charged. I went in for my appointment a week later and was there for several hours. It was late in the evening when I left and the lighting wasn't the greatest... more on that later. When I went to check out, my final charge was about $100 MORE than what I was expecting to pay based on the prices advertised on their website. I had never encountered that type of situation and I honestly didn't know what to do, so I paid the bill and left, all the while feeling sick to my stomach about it. When I arrived home, I looked at my receipt and realized they were charging me extra each time the stylist had to get more bleach for the service. This was never discussed prior and it was not noted on their website. Then I walked into my bathroom with bright lighting, I realized several sections of hair around my face were tinted purple. I didn't notice it prior to leaving the salon because the lighting wasn't the greatest. I was mortified. I called the salon first thing the next day and spoke with a very helpful person and explained the situation with the color and with the amount I was charged for my appointment. They got me back in later that day for a corrective appointment to fix the color and she said the general manager would follow up with me the next business day. The corrective appointment was with a different stylist, who seemed a bit bothered that she was given the appointment. After several rushed attempts, the color was finally corrected back to blonde But still did not achieve the overall look I had originally wanted. Two days later, I received a phone call from the general manager who was very nice and apologetic and offered to bring me back in for another appointment with a master stylist to hopefully obtain the results I was looking for, she also apologized for the issue with the pricing and immediately issued a credit for the charges I was not made aware of in advance. I came back in for a third time, this time with a master stylist. The results were ok, but still not what I ultimately wanted. I decided to cut my losses and I won't be back. I will say, the general manager was very understanding and professional, and I appreciated the credit and the attempts to fix the color and get to a final result that I was happy with. read more

Update. - the manager, Andrea, reached out to me regarding this review. We spoke, and she offered refund or gift card. I appreciate it greatly. Icertainly didn't to create bad feelings because the service (that I expected) was great. This isn't about the quality of the work, that was excellent. I had my hair colored with highlights (with ash tones) and it was beautiful, albeit pricey ($200), but good color can be worth it. At that time I was advised to come back in 2 weeks for a toner refresh to keep the highlights ash toned and not brassy. I was told, "it's only $28 and the color lasts longer." I thought, totally worth a try, it's just $28, so I booked for yesterday. Toner in, shampoo, blow dry. By the way, I have short hair. I go to pay, and the total is $59. I asked why and was told it was for the blow dry. $31 to blow dry short hair, without alerting me ahead of time. I was just going to go home and clean house, so it was wasted. Had I known, I would have happily left with wet hair. I normally tip 20%+ on the total bill, but I only tipped on the original perceived charge, and I am torn between feeling bad for not leaving enough and leaving too much. Might need to find a good salon closer to home(it's an hour drive) that is more honest. And go back to sad box color. read more
