This is a cute cafe with a nice selection of indian food, coffee, and of course chai! I got an iced matcha latte and shared samosas with my boyfriend. My iced matcha was nice but I wish there was a little bit more matcha flavor in the drink. I love the big windows and natural lighting this place has. There's a bunch of seating options in the space, but not many outlet options. Only the seats by the windows have outlets so once someone left, I was quick to snag a table by one. Other than that, I'd come back to try their food options. read more

The service was so quick and friendly. Th butter chicken wrap tasted like a big version of their samosas. There were peas, carrots, potatoes in the mix. Super delicious! The outside/wrap was nice and toasted which added a nice crunch. read more

I really enjoy Remedy teas, coffees and their food. Especially their dessert. Chai tea and London fog are usually my twin choices I switch between but if it's a long day I grab a coffee while working on whatever needs my attention at that point in time. There are a few plug-ins along the windows but are usually snatched up quickly by regulars. So if you're working in the cafe, make sure you bring your devices with lots charge or a back up battery. I find when I'm downtown I go here more often than the other location (further east and directly on Jasper Ave) due to nearby parking options and ease of access. Now to add construction and extra biking/walking lanes, there's even less options for parking on Jasper ave if you're mobility limited. So I greatly appreciate that the furthest I've ever needed to walk was just across the street and less than a block. Most times I'm near the door as a lot of people walk here. This particular location has huge windows (one of the main features of all Remedy cafes - well all that I've been to so far) but the front entry here is bit odd. I need to walk all the way into the store to look at food menu, desserts in display case and drink options and then turn around to the entry to block people going in and out of the shop while waiting for my order. Food is always placed on the far side of the cake/sandwich display (including yesterday). Extra thing to note for first time visitors is there's two doors at that entry corner, so even with the proper marked spacing waiting to order, potentially one would be constantly moving to get out of everyone's way even more often now. Luckily for me and my friend, there were a few tables set out for seating (with proper distancing). So we could sit and be out of the way of those entering the cafe while waiting for our drinks. My samosas were ready (in a to-go bag) before we even looked at table availability. Tasty as always and I must have been hungry as they disappeared quickly! As nice as it was to be able to sit without fear of being rained on, it felt surreal to be sitting inside (first coffee shop or restaurant I've sat in since the start of covid-19). On one side of our table there was a pile of chairs and tables. The rest of the place had spaced out two person seating options. Not sure if they'd be ok with you adding a third chair or not, but if you're in that situation. Each table had a laminated card, stating the table was disinfected and on the flip side to indicate (when we were leaving) for staff to disinfect/others not to sit until it was cleaned. Both sides are red, so the staff will have to really be on top of watching the customer turnover to make sure that's kept up. Which with our brief time there, was done well. Odd thing was that with all this cleaning and spacing of tables, there was still only one spot for garbage. Right at the drink pick up counter. I've often thought this was odd in the past but now with all the concerns about keeping things clean, I hope they consider adding a second garbage a bit further away from the entry. For those that are wondering, we had our masks on for entry, order (staff are wearing masks too) and exiting. We and other sitting in the cafe removed masks for the time they were there drinking and eating. I by far prefer Remedy over the big chains. However, if I need to sit down inside the cafe within the next month, I'll opt to go to the other two Remedy locations south of the river (near Whyte ave) while all this social distancing is still in place. They're larger locations and then I don't need to be so cautious of where to stand if there are no tables available for me to sit while waiting. If there was a table designated for handicap seating, I wouldn't be so concerned but I think that one spot was removed to allow for social distancing tables. read more

Super good! Some people might say a little pricey but the quality is great! I love the butter chicken wrap and my partner gets the samosas! I also love that they have coconut whipped cream! The atmosphere is very artsy reminds me of the cafes you'd find in movies and city's like Vancouver, Seattle, etc. definitely recommend trying! read more

I was surprised at the interior of the restaurant, an off the wall casual diner with vegetarian dishes. I was saved by the offering of real Butter Chicken. The Butter Chicken was served with Basmati Rice in plastic take-out containers due to the enduring virus. I normally would have walked out of an eatery that looked like this but I was with others who assured me it was a great place to eat, Imagine trying to eat out of 2 separate plastic containers with a plastic fork. But I am happy to have found what I personally feel is the BEST Butter Chicken I have ever eaten. The sauce is just the right amount of heat and spice, so very creamy; the chicken, so tender. Never judge a diner by its look! Just check this place for the Butter Chicken alone. It is not great for a dine-in experience (unless you are into their style) but I am sure they have take-out. read more

Came to the 124 street location of Remedy last night, for the first time, with the fam jam while we were waiting for our table at Prairie Noodle House. The 4 year old enjoyed a banana and a glass of water and the 7 year old ordered a Mango Lassi and liked it but not as much as at other places. The hubs and I each ordered a speciality tea - I ordered the green tea chai which had some sort of flower petals and nuts in it. The bottom of the cup was kind of like oatmeal - a bit too much so. The hubs had the Rooibos Vanilla Chai which he loved. We also opted for 4 samosas to spilt for $5 - they were vegetarian (we prefer meat) but none the less delicious. I noticed after sitting down there were options to save money like 4 samosas and 2 chai for about $4 less than what we paid and I do think that it would have been nice if they had mentioned the combo options. The placed was jam packed with people standing/waiting for tables on a Tuesday at 5pm. The atmosphere was colourful, bright, and pleasant. the patrons all seemed to be having a good time and engaged in merry chitter chatter. I didn't see what the hours are on the weekend but the sign said open until midnight on the day we were there (Tuesday) which his pretty awesome possum as an alternative to a Timmy's. The array of desserts - normal, vegan, gluten free etc. looked delicious. There was a rum egg nog cake that was definitely call my name. This is my favourite location in of all of Edmonton, but maybe that's because I'm an Oliver girl deep down. There's also a location on Jasper Ave, and one on 109st in Garneau. The 124st spot is fairly busy all the time, but I guess that's the sign of a successful business! The good thing is that people are always coming and going so a spot to sit frees up fairly quickly save for the students who are hanging out for longer in the evenings. Big plus, they hang local artwork inside and I know a couple people who have had their artwork there and have had good experiences with the owners. Now the good stuff: Drinks: My partner and I make the drive from across the city for Remedy chai lattes ($4.75). I find I don't care for anyone else's to be honest. When I'm not feelin' chai, my go-to is the Vietnamese coffee which if you've never had one before, go get one. They also have a bunch of milkshakes, fogs and teas and one thing that's kind of special is you can customize them to the max with milk options and like 10 different kinds of sugar. Food: The butter chicken here is also the bomb and they give huge portions which is fair for the price ($14). It's so warming! A sweet change up is the butter chicken wrap with the sauce on top ($11). The desserts are plentiful to say the least! Ranging from loafs and squares to fresh cakes and almost all are gluten free or vegan. Sometimes it's hard to choose just one! We're big fans and suggest you check them out too. read more

Came here on a Monday afternoon. Initially we were headed to Duchess Bakery but unbeknownst to us Duchess is closed Monday's. But turns out Remedy was exactly what we wanted anyway. I order a ginger Chai and my friend ordered the caffeine free Chai. My ginger chai was deliciously spiced and perfectly sweet. When visiting Remedy be sure to bring your sweet tooth along because boy oh boy to they ever have some awesome desserts. Me and my friend shared a slice of the strawberry shortcake and well we polish that puppy off before our teas were even ready. On previous a previous visit I tried the raspberry yogurt cake and that too was pretty terrific. All in all. Great location, comfy spacious seating and amazing food and drinks. I definitely enjoy the Remedy Cafe brand and this location in particular is so good! I went here with some friends and really liked the good vibes and relaxed atmosphere. I found their menu to be great; along with good beverages they serve spectacular Indian food among other dishes! I would say it definitely takes a more trendy approach to Indian cuisine by incorporating it into wraps and sandwiches. You must try the Chai Tea Latte: it's one of the best I've had for a long time and the Coconut Fog was good as well. The Kashmiri Tea I would say you must try! The colour is really appealing and it tasted light and fresh. It had an enjoyable floral bouquet of jasmine or citrus blossom on it which was a super nice addition. As for food goes, the Butter Chicken and the Lamb Curry are delicious. I found the Butter Chicken to be super rich with really tender-cooked chicken pieces. The Lamb Curry was well-seasoned and amazing especially when paired with Naan or Basmati Rice -- I really appreciated how these sides are included! The vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free options are also great which is a huge plus. Awesome little cafe to check out! I'd definitely recommend it if you're out with friends and are looking for a place to hang out in. Wonderful cafe! It is a bright, open space with lots of seating. They have an Indian based menu with lots of familiar favourites as well as vegan, diary-free and gluten-free options! I had a craving for butter chicken and my girlfriend got the fatafel wrap. I had a bit of her's and it was delicious! If there is only one thing you need to get from this cafe, it is definitely their chai! I had the kashmiri chai w/ almond milk which was absolutely incredible. Not only did you have the beautiful chai spices, but it was enhanced with this amazing pistachio, floral blend. It was delicious and they give you a pretty decent size too! I'm a remedy cafe fan and this location is my favourite. It's roomier than the other spots and lots of seating including a nice outdoor patio space. Inside is bright with lots of windows and all the chai tea! All locations have the same funky style and fun vibes. Even down to the labels on the cakes and sugar canisters. Remedy cafe chai is hands down the best. I love the original but my husband likes the Kashmir chai which is decaf. Both super tasty and 100% the reason to visit any location. The food is consistently good and today I got the butter chicken wrap. It's very filling, packed with rice, chicken and peas. You get a sweet dip that just takes the wrap to a whole new level. Read the menu and look at pictures before you go, or you're gonna be staring at their menu feeling confused and slightly afraid while holding up the line. You're gonna want to order a Chana wrap though, my friend. Second, don't you dare walk in here without getting a chai. Don't even think about it. You're gonna want the original chai. It is sweet heavenly delight in a cup, and it's going to change your life. There's also a big selection of desserts, but I can't comment on that because I over stuffed on the above mentioned goodies. The music is kind of awesome (in my opinion) and the vibe is relaxed and quiet, even when busy. Food is good, but I will say a bit expensive, around 25$ if you wanna get 2 sides like I usually get with Indian food, ex, rice and naan. I'm very familiar with the location on Jasper Avenue. However, we went to the 124 Street location to enjoy the neighbourhood and have a late snack with our baby. This location is on a great street with space to stroll and check out eclectic shops. The location has a lot more space to sit and relax. There is a beautiful sidewalk cafe with lights strung up in the trees and fresh water bowls for dogs. The furniture is fresh and vibrant in an array of teal, orange and white. When you enter the smell of warm spices like cinnamon, ginger, cardamom and aniseed hit your senses immediately. We ordered two chai lattes, a vegan chicken chana wrap, raspberry chocolate cake and a ginger cookie. All vegan of course. The cake was a bit of a disappointment. The icing was pink but tasted like icing sugar, not raspberries. It was no more significant than a boxed cake. The chicken chana wrap was wonderful. Warm chickpeas and tvp in a hearty yellow gravy wrapped in a warm flat bread warm complimented with a sweet tamarind dip. The ginger cookie was a perfect blend of ginger and molasses. Or at least that's what it tasted like. I'm an enormous fan of their chai latte and order it half sweet with almond milk. This time it really lacked the spicy flavour I'm accustomed to. Not sure it they changed the way they make it. Next time I'll order it without the half sweet to see. It was still good, just a little watered down. Overall this location invites a fun group of young to old. Writers, friends, dates and families. It's a warm and inviting restaurant and I would visit again for my favourite things; chai latte and chana masala wrap! read more

I absolutely LOVE this place for everything. I am half Indian so you know I love curry. What better than CURRY, ALCOHOL, and COFFEE? Nothing. This is the perfect place to study on a Sunday. You can have the free wifi and Sunday Beers with your buddies and just camp out here with your laptop. I don't usually study in cafes but when I do it's this one - and usually the 124th location. I find this location to be a lot more open and the bathrooms are cleaner. The people working here are usually pretty helpful. I like to drink beer but I never know what to have, and they usually give pretty good recommendations. This place is also great for local events. They have lots of posters you can look at to get an idea of what to do in the city. In fact, 124th as a whole is great for local cafes and places to go. It's a really nice area of the downtown with a lot of life. Whoever says that Edmonton has no culture needs to come here. There is always something to do. :) read more

I am beyond thrilled Remedy opened up shop on 124 Street! I have frequented the 109 St and Jasper avenue locations over the years, but this one I am able to walk to, even on those -30 days! (Hey, when you need chai, you NEED chai.) The food and drink has the same great flavour as the other locations but IMO this location is head and shoulders above for the following reasons: - Ample seating. Think upscale cafeteria style: rows of tables and chairs means never having to wait for a seat. - Outdoor seating area. It's so nice to be outside enjoying 124st in the summer time - their outdoor seating area is nice and spacious - Clean. The space is clean and FEELS clean, and open. The lighting is tasteful and natural light fills tge space as well. The bathrooms are tastefully appointed. - Easy to read menu (no scrolling menus as seen in other locations!) My fave items to order: -Any Chai. Love the Kashmir Chai topped with pistachio & rose petals! -Palak chicken wrap & Chili Chicken wrap. I don't know what it is about this location. I've been coming here frequently since last year and weird, crazy, little things have happened here. Since my last review I've had the south door not properly open and closing abruptly only to scrape my foot (could of been a cut, thankfully I have my tetanus shot) and someone completely forgetting to deliver my order. It's also the little things like a sign on the girls washroom door that states it may not properly work and it has been there forever! Or starting a new line on your frequency ticket rather than continuing on one that is close to a free drink. Also I wouldn't get the iced chai. It seems like all it is is mix and milk. You can buy taro mix at Costco for 10$ rather than the 5$+ it would cost you here. I know these are small things, but they are easily fixed and are annoying when they go awry. Particularly since they do not seem to happen on my visits to the other locations. Maybe I'm cursed? I love remedy! Just maybe go to the Jasper ave location instead of this one. read more

I've only made one visit to this, the new 124th street location, but I do like how large the seating area is, the variety of chairs and the usual ample number of options on the food and beverage menus. I've had their Kashmir chai (which is always my favourite at the Remedy Cafe locations) and it was wonderful. It is great to have another location in this area. I'm intrigued by some of the beverage options that I haven't noticed at some of the other locations. People seemed really helpful and polite here -- both customers and staff -- helping each other plug in laptops, carry food, etc. Easily accessible via transit, parking in the area is occasionally limited but it's an excellent business to have in the 124th Street area. read more

I was in the area for an event and had about 20 minutes for lunch and wanted to try Remedy. I walked in and loved how comfortable the seating looked. There was about 5 tables available with 2 being close to the counter so I choose a table for 2 at along the wall on the north side of the restaurant. I checked out the menu hanging up but I knew I wanted a light lunch and decided on 2 samosas (vegetarian) for $3.50. They gave me a number to put on my table and I went back to my table. I like the vibe of the place. There were a few tables of people who likely work in the area, friends enjoying a meal, and lots of students with their Macs and textbooks. The chair was cozy and comfortable and there was Shaw wifi so I could browse on my phone and watch the others while I waited for my food. It took a few minutes and they brought out my meal. The samosas weren't big but hot and tasty, and I enjoyed every bite. This is a place I would come if I wanted to sit back and relax and enjoy a meal or a drink. It's great for singles or with others, and can't beat the great location on 124! read more

Excited to find a vegan, raw and gluten free Cafe on 124th. OR in the city let's be honest yeg is not excatly super awesome for vegans. We ordered Samosas, butter chicken with rice and two different desserts. The cheesecake was Delish and by far our favorite. Portion size was a bit small. For the 7.25$ price tag, but then again ingredients to make our favs as vegan alternatives are not always cheap like the traditional version. Our meal options came quick and 5$ for 4 Samosas is a rocking deal. The set up is good, but you definitely can hear. Everyone else's conversations in the cafe which I don't know if that makes. It the best place to meet for business or study. I do like that if you choose they serve Wine and liquor making it a potential great evening or weekend spot. Service is good, but we found it interesting the barrista who Was out on the floor next To the customer informed them Their drink was on the counter VS just bringing the chai to the customer. Remedy is a great place to grab some great Indian food outside of the traditional Indian restaurant and they also have a great variety of snacks including sugar free baklava which are just heavenly. I love remedy's customer service they are always so accommodating, I ended up getting the tandoori chicken wrap and they changed their filling fair warning to anyone planning to buy !!!! Although even though I didn't like the taste they exchanged the wrap for the butter chicken version free of charge ! As well I got a carrot cake which tasted delicious and a chocolate cake that was very fudgey although tasty. Came here last night and ordered the key lime pie and Vietnamese coffee. When I got my coffee it was in a tall glass but only got not even half of coffee inside. I was arguing with the blond girl that, that was not the same one that I got last time and I even showed her the pic of the one I got before. She kept arguing with me that the other one made by someone else was watered down and what she made was the right one. Then she started saying that there's two ways of making it, one was stirred and not stirred. Which when I ordered she didn't even ask me which one I wanted. Anyways finally I got her to make me one "not stirred" way. If indeed her way was the "right way" at least use a proper sized glass for the beverage. Her presentation was just ridiculous. The "watered down" Vietnamese coffee i had on my first visit was 100X better than the ones she made. Sometimes its better to empathize with your customers needs instead of putting your co-workers down and making your customers feel like they were in the wrong. Remedy is a Edmonton favourite. They were Serving vegan food and cool drinks way before anyone else did. I have been here many times because they have great vegan food and desserts and a huge assortment of tea and other cool drinks like kombucha. They are also open later so It's a great place to go with friends late at night if you don't want to go to a bar. The 1 24th St. location also has a wonderful patio. read more

Out of all the remedy cafe locations this one is my favorite! The staff are very friendly and helpful when it comes to choosing your cafeinated poison! Plenty of tables and chairs for small and larger groups, and I like the fact that there is no writing in the walls like some if their other locations. This is one of the better Remedy locations in the city, for sure. Overall, most locations are very similar, but the layout of this one is much spacier and there's quite a few power outlets. The entire cafe has lower tables (which is nice because I hate the high tables and bar stools) and as per usual has a lot of funky decor. The menu and food options are the same as any other location, and everything is consistent for the most part. At other locations when I ask for toppings on my vegan hot chocolate they put nuts and coconut bits, chocolate sauce, and a marshmallow, but here they usually don't put anything, even after I ask for it at the till. There are a few inconsistencies but for the most part the staff are accommodating. They have a really decent tea wall here. The employees here are way nicer than the staff at other locations, particularly the one on 109. They're all really chill and relaxed but they'll make your drink pretty quickly so they can go back to chatting or whatever it is that they're busy with. They're not rude or snappy, and won't judge you if you're studying for finals until 12AM every night for 6 days in a row. Not like I speak for experience or anything.... ha. Pretty much all parking in the area is paid unless you're willing to walk a few blocks. I usually come after 6 PM and at that time parking is free right outside. They're open late late late which is so nice, because not many cafes in YEG are. They do a good job and because of that I come here probably a little bit too often. read more

I can only speak for this location and have gone only a few times, but from my experiences I would recommend to everyone! The location has lovely tea and a very nice outdoor area. The staff is super friendly and management has made sure social distancing measures are in place even from customer to worker. The only downside is the place seems to not clean outside tables or area to much. I don't blame them because theirs only 2 people working every time I've gone and are always busy with orders which is another downside. Waiting for you order will be 5-10 minutes because of the lower number of staff. The tea makes up for it though and is worth the wait! read more

We went here to get dinner and catch up with an old friend. We arrived at 7pm on a Monday and the place was busy, but easily found a table on the patio. We ordered and our food came quickly and was delicious! The samosa combo with Dahl and chai was a good deal. The Dahl was very good and served with rice. The samosas were small but tasty. The chai was incredible! I would go back just for another! Also the butter chicken wrap was filling and affordable and good quality. It started raining and we went inside and easily found another table. We were able to sit and chat for hours! Very intimate and casual environment. Less busy than the 109 location, Remedy Cafe is a nice sit down for afternoon and late night snacking. Prices were the same as other locations, and tables are comfortably close. I like the ambiance of this cafe, whereas the other ones are a bit too large to be cozy. Great location, friendly staff as always and their mudfight cake is rich with chocolate and not too sweet. So rich, I couldn't finish it with 3/4s left to go. If somethings not on the menu, you can always ask like getting just 'steamed milk' to go along with my mudfight cake.
