I have been using Jeff and Classic Cars of Houston for the restoration and service of both my collector cars since meeting him in 2008. My first project was an original, solid '66 TBird convertible. Jeff assessed the car and recommended a path forward to return the car to it's factory mechanical specifications with several upgrades to make it more driver friendly in current traffic. The next step was visual - returning the body and interior to better than new condition, while preserving the integrity of the car. He was very informative throughout every step of the process, making recommendations along the way to avoid over-restoring the car and staying close to a targeted budget. I found Jeff when looking for a part for my husband's "impulse buy" - a 1966 Mercury Park Lane. I found Classic Cars of Houston on the Internet and he was less than 2 miles from me! I could tell over the phone that he was a great guy. He educated me and treated me with respect even though I know ZERO about cars. I quickly learned the term, "NOS" (New Old Stock) and we had our car ready for our wedding getaway. He has since worked with us to patiently restore "Cherry" as our budget allowed. He has also taken in our newer cars as we have had fender-benders. I like taking it to a place you can trust. His entire crew is professional and hard working. Bailey runs the office and is an angel. She is on top of it all and knows more about cars than you can believe! Jeff has been doing a "resto mod" on my 1971 Camaro RS SS that had previously been sitting in pieces for about 10 years in storage. If you want your restoration done RIGHT, this is the place. I will be the first to admit that my particular restoration has taken more $$ than I imagined, however, I know that everything from the frame up, literally, have been completely and correctly repaired, replaced, updated, etc. using the best components and materials. Jeff's knowledge of what it REALLY takes to restore a classic car is second to none. If you want someone to patch up an old car of yours and simply slap some parts and paint on it, do not go to Classic Cars. They are only interested in doing the job correctly and, yes, that does cost more but every single month Jeff's crew takes in projects that have been "restored" at other shops (mine included), many of which are almost complete re-do's due to shoddy work from the previous shop. If you are looking for more than just a "paint job", this is the place for you. I'm wrapping of a full restoration on a Datsun 240Z and I'm very happy with the results. Candidly, I spent a lot more money than I ever thought that I would spend, but I have zero regrets. Their attention to detail and prep work were very thorough and, at the end of the day, it is all about preparing the surface of the car properly.
