I filed a claim and provided the invoice, notes from the technician, and info from the manufacturer, and HONK denied it on the grounds that "the technician said he didn't use a 24V", ha.

I had been waiting 4 hours for the tow company Mercedes contracted, and they finally called around to multiple tow companies to find someone who could get to me quickly. West Coast Tow isn't contracted with them, so they paid them directly. I called West Coast Tow, spoke to Mr. Tom and explained the condition Nova Tire Center left my tire in and that we could not drive the vehicle onto a flatbed. He'd already had a flatbed on the way to me. He had me text him pictures and said he would personally come and bring a different truck with a dolly so there was no further damage caused to my rim and car. He arrived in 10 minutes and handled the situation with so much grace and care. I had been incredibly frustrated after dealing with this situation for the last 5 hours, and encountering a good human after all of this made my day so much better. I was planning to take a ride share to meet them at the dealership, but he offered for me to ride with them. When we arrived to the dealership, he didn't rush to dump my car. He drove to the back so there would be no damage, spoke to the service and explained the situation, waited for me to go inside to speak with my service rep, and then very carefully unloaded my car. I am writing this review a day later, and it's honestly making emotional because I had been treated so poorly by the tire place and Mr. Tom and his son were so kind to me. Unexpected $750 Charge and Highly Suspicious Business Practices…read more Following a car accident, a AAA tow truck driver with Westside Tow refused to drop my vehicle off at my residence, claiming it would be too difficult and could potentially damage my car. Instead, he insisted on taking it to Golden Auto Body and Paint. I specifically asked whether there would be any fees and was assured there would be none. In fact, I called Golden Auto Body the very next day to ask specifically whether I would be charged any storage fees and was again told no. Despite these assurances, when my chosen repair shop went to retrieve my vehicle, Golden Auto Body demanded $750 to release it. What I find most suspicious and concerning is that Golden Auto Body would only release my vehicle in exchange for cash. After repeatedly being assured there would be no fees, suddenly being required to pay $750 in cash raises serious questions about their business practices. After my car was transferred, my chosen repair shop sent photographs showing scratches and dents, asking whether they had been there previously. I am now investigating whether additional damage occurred while my vehicle was being towed or stored. I also find it extremely concerning that the tow truck driver was so insistent on bringing my vehicle to this particular business rather than respecting my wishes. I do not know whether there was any financial arrangement between the driver and the shop, but the circumstances raise serious questions. I would strongly caution anyone considering this business to get all fees in writing.
