If I could rate less than one star, I would.... I have tried to use them for simple roadside assistance with flat tires twice in the past year and a half; including today. In both instances, they claimed for hours and hours that no providers were available and they were still diligently trying to find someone. Today they also lied and said only one provider in the whole city was available, and we were next on the list for service... Four hours later, still no service. Then they said maybe we should just contact a provider ourselves, pay out of pocket, and seek reimbursement from our insurance carrier. How's that for confidence in their own services -- according to Honk, I'm better off Googling a service rather than rely on them (a company claiming to be a expert in this field). To whom it may concern, We are a service provider for honk and have major complaints. The pay and the automated system is not good. We constantly get calls and never get awarded jobs and we know you don't have anyone to do them. You keep calling us to do calls an hour away for peanuts like $30. You used to be a good company to work with and now you allow anyone in your system to work for nothing. It doesn't even cover gas???? So what do you plan on doing because a lot of other providers I have spoken with also have the same issues with your company. If you continue to do this we will have to exit your program. This is egregious. I can't believe you are letting customers wait in the extreme heat and cold because for hours or days because of price ! We have seen it how you do the customers and us! My experience with HONK has been extremely disappointing and unprofessional. As a contracted service provider, I have fulfilled every requirement and policy they expect--arriving on time, providing proof, and following the correct procedures. Despite this, HONK repeatedly denies legitimate payments and makes the process intentionally difficult. This appears to be a pattern with HONK--making excuses, rejecting valid claims, and doing everything possible to avoid paying providers for work that was legitimately performed. For a company that relies entirely on service providers to operate, their approach to payments and support is unacceptable. Their system errors prevent providers from submitting wait-time requests, and rather than correcting the issue, HONK simply denies payment. HONK needs to address these ongoing problems, improve their transparency, and start treating their partners fairly. Until then, I cannot recommend them to any service provider who expects to be paid accurately and on time. read more

Read this before ever dedicating a service truck to Honk Roadside. 1. Honk does not pay in route or deadhead mileage. this is important because they send you calls 20 to 50 miles away. And it's always a low ball pay scale I.e $61 to drive 50 miles and tow a car 4 miles. Do not give them free miles either. They also use that against you. 2. They never pay for additional services although they are aware additional services are requested at dispatch. They will not pay you for performing services which are not on dispatch. i.e they call for tow but you jumpstart the car. they will cancel the service altogether and will stop your account if you try to collect from customer. 3. You do not have live support for additional costs or services only email in which they will deny additional work or services you perform. 4. When completing the contract make sure your hook rate includes your in route, any service rate and dead head mileage. They do not change it once you are locked in. Honk sent me an uninsured tow truck that dropped and drug my truck down the highway at 55 mph while my truck was in park. four months later Honk still hasn't fixed my truck or paid for anything they are responsible for. I have to sue them to fix everything because they are hard to work with. This company is a joke! My truck broke down yesterday and I needed to call the Roadside Assistance that is provided by my auto insurance company (American National). It took over 2 hours for HONK to locate a towing company. They sent repeated texts suggesting that I could find my own solution. Of course, I had no option but to wait. Then, due to distances and logistics, it took another 2 hours for the tow truck to reach my location. The service provider was nice and helpful, but HONK gave him two non-working credit card numbers to cover the charge of $400. The towing company called me and we both worked on reaching people with HONK to get it straightened out. I was assured by one HONK employee that they would work things out with the towing company they had enlisted to help me. NOPE! I finally paid the towing company with my own credit card at 9:52 pm after numerous calls with him. It's utterly ridiculous that they contracted his services and didn't find a way to pay him immediately. In my calls to the HONK, one call center person answered (obviously from her home) with a very loud cartoon or kid's movie blaring in the background. When I asked if it were possible to speak to her from a more quiet setting, she put my call on eternal hold and never came back. Another simply hung up on me. I was not aggressive or insulting - simply looking for a solution to my dilemma. Today, I reached a sympathetic person at HONK who advised me to file a claim with my auto insurance company on Monday. This company is hard to reach when there is an issue. My insurance company called and cancelled their towing when I was told the wait for the tow would be over 2+ hours until it happened. I found another towing company closer to my location and they were there within a half hour. HONK went ahead, even after the towing was cancelled and charged my checking account. When I called their line they were vague and transferred by call back to my insurance company. Poor business practices. Now I'm trying to get reimbursed for services that did not happen. I have a Roadside Business in Kalamazoo Michigan that uses an App that they are apart of and use to find service providers like my company called Towbooks which is a great app. The downside is that HONK uses it to send people like me on calls to severice others with there Roadside needs and they don't pay. They cancel calls when you get there and not to mention the initial money offers are always too low. They want you to do calls for 30.00 going over an hour away and then when you get there they aren't there and they won't pay the GOA price of at least 20.00. it cost too much for gas to go out along with the employee pay. I URGE EVERYONE NOT TO USE HONK for any of their roadside needs. They scam, they are cheap and they are dishonest. They don't pay the people that do the work for them at all. Honk provides roadside assistance for the fleet car I drive for work, due to heavy snow, ice under the snow and freezing temps here in WV over the past 2 weeks everything is a mess. I ended up stuck, called the fleet company, everything's going ok, they contacted HONK, still ok. I get a notification from HONK that a tow truck will be there in about 2 hours, wait time sucks but its winter, bad roads, ok. Then I get notification that HONK cancelled the tow because HONK wanted info from the tow company like tow truck driver personal info -SSN, etc, before they would approve the tow company. So HONK proceeds to try find other tow services, for 2 hours they "looked", kept sending me notifications that they were still looking for providers, I'm stuck in 12 degree weather. We live in rural WV, there are not a lot of tow companies. So eventually a co worker's husband brings a tow strap and pulls me out in 5 minutes, as he gets me on the road I get notification that the tow truck has been assigned and will be there in 2 hours. It was the same tow company that they had assigned and cancelled 2 hours earlier, that would have been there and had me towed already if HONK hadn't cancelled them to start with. So a 4 hour ordeal because of paperwork and I sat in my car in 12 degree weather not because of lack of tow trucks but because of HONK paperwork. read more

My insurance company set up for my car to be towed by honk from my House to the body shop. Honk was given the correct address of the body shop, however they towed my car to the wrong place. Rather than going to the shop they stopped and dropped it off a few blocks away at the tesla service center. After not having any updates on my car for a week I called the shop to see what was going on and they informed me they never received my car. So I had to locate my car and someone from The body shop was nice enough to walk over and get for me. This 8 day delay in my car being misplaced was a big deal because we don't have a rental on our policy. During those 8 days I was out of the country. So having it in the shop and being worked on for Those 8 days would have been GREAT to get utilize time and be down to one car for less time once I got home. Oh yeah, and while it was sitting in teslas parking lot for 8 days it also had a ding and paint chip that I'm sure honk will also Not take responsibility for once I call them on Monday. read more

I'm upset I even have to give this company a 1 star. They don't even deserve that. This company is crooks don't do any roadside calls for them. They charge the customer $250 and wanna pay me $70. Then im requesting the round trip tolls for the tow truck and they gave me 1 way rates for a car with ez pass at that (discounted rate) so the total is less than $80 and they get to keep all the profit while we do all the leg work and risk our lives providing service. They don't protect the providers at all. They're a company that's for themselves. Another situation I arrive to pick up a 2009 Lexus for them. It doesn't say a description for the kind of service vehicle needed. I cross tolls and arrive 30 mins after accepting the job and the customer denied the tow because he wanted a flatbed so I requested a GOA and they stated that they canceled me not even a min into the job so therefore I'm entitled to no GOA but no one never canceled the job because it was still active and no one called the office to cancel as well. They just tried to lie to cover up for themselves so they don't have to pay $20 for a GOA fee. WARNING!!! I own a Towing Company and tried using Honk as a subsidiary income as we added another truck and Driver. I got an alert for a tire change seven miles away from my closest truck that agreed to pay my set rate of $125 for the job which was negotiated at the time of setting my Company up with Honk as a partner. After completing the job we were paid $21 dollars. My Secretary was on the phone with them three separate times for hours and never got anywhere with their Partner support team. I will NEVER use them again! If you are a legitimate Company that Carrie's the proper Insurance, you cannot afford to work for this fraudulent Company! They literally pay you Pennie's on the dollar!! There are much better Companies to work for. Don't be fooled by some of their fake reviews! Honk masquerades as a local company, overcharges, then calls a local company. They will not give the local company the customer's phone number. They provide their phone number so that when the driver gets to the disablement location, they get a recording saying that their phone number isn't associated with any calls in progress. The driver would have to provide a reference number, which is in his dispatch software on his phone. He is currently using his phone, so he can't see that number. Please, just call a local company. You will get better service and a better price. read more

Worst ever! I paid $75 for someone to jump start my car. She told me to drive it for 45 minutes and it would be fine. I drove for over an hour, went back in my house for 5 minutes and the car was dead again. Called customer service and they were not willing to correct their mistake, they didn't even offer me a discount for someone to come out again. I am a private tow contractor. That has EMAILED and phone calls to Honk roadside multiple times. About an issue with the service provider app. The app keeps sending me job requests for services. Even though I AM NOT logged into the app. The app sends me job requests for service at all hours and every day of the week. If this issue gets resolved. I'll update this review. read more

As a towing company, my experience with Honk was terrible. They contact me all the time for tows and I refuse to avoid the headache. Today I decided to accept 1 and it was just that....a HEADACHE. Took three hours for them to give me a credit card for a $90 tow that was supposed to be $150. Looked at the settings and magically my base hook up fee was changed from $150 to $90. I paid them $85 and they canceled saying that they couldn't send no one out. I was out of town...no family, no friends in the area I was at and that was the last of my money. I called them about reimbursing my money so that I could try to call someone else for a tow...they said it would be 3-5 business days before my money would be returned.
