I've used Westside Tow more times than I can remember. Always a first-rate experience. Tonight for example. I as going to go get a quart of milk, so we wouldn't be out for tomorrow morning's breakfast. Started the car up - click- nothing! Uh-oh! But I couldn't see that I'd left anything on. Lights, radio - everything seemed okay. Still, it must've been me, right? AAA sent Westside Tow, and after the tech guy jumped the battery & looked at his meters, he had me try it again a few times more. Also had me turn my lights on, without his jump battery gizmo attached. Front lights were 100% bright. Welp - turns out, it wasn't the battery, but the starter! The battery was fine, completely charged. But he said I should bring the car to the mechanic tomorrow/ASAP, because the starter was randomly getting stuck. Good thing I found out tonight too - because I was about to lend it to my brother to go work as a substitute teacher tomorrow, and he could have gotten stuck across town with a broken starter! Tow truck drivers are unsung heroes in my book. While LA City does their best to repair all the potholes in the city after a major storm, many are not reported or haven't been repaired yet. Leave it to me to hit one of them at night on a poorly lit street. BAM! I thought I was ok, but when I left the restaurant I as at, I saw the tire was completely flat and rim almost touching the ground. I SLOWLY made my way to the Chevron station 2blocks down and tried to fill up the tire. NO go... Westside Tow to the rescue. My car warranty covers tows and they dispatched Westside Tow! They initially said it was going to be 90 minutes, but I got a test from the driver within 15 minutes, I then got a call. from the driver confirming my location and he was on his way. Courteous, fast and reliable. When he arrived he asked about the spare and wouldn't you know, Honda doesn't include spare tires anymore on Hybrid models! Drove me to the Honda Culver City and he even walked me through the process of leavig the key in the key drop and where to park. I was going to call Lyft for a ride back home, but he offered to take me as it was less than 2 miles or so. On the ride back he recommended I purchased a spare tire and just keep it in the trunk. I didn't know you could by a "donut". Next time you are in a jam reach out to Westside Tow. They are also AAA and cover the entire Westside. read more

Tonight I had a minor accident and had to call AAA. Within 5 minutes I received a text from WESTSIDE TOW saying someone would be to me in 10 minutes. And in 10 minutes a truck was pulling up. The guy was so fast in his work, he had my car lifted and was on the highway headed to my home in less than 15 minutes. He got me home safe and helped me get car in my parking stall. 0 stars if possible. The tow truck driver broke my transmission and I had to pay $2k on a new one. I used Westside tow 2 days in a row last week and had a great interaction with the first driver, but the next day another driver came to tow my car to the shop and I had a terrible experience resulting in a broken transmission. The 2nd tow truck driver came and insisted on trying to start my car. The clutch was already broken (why it needed to be towed) but he kept pressing on it until he put all his weight on it and made a big snapping noise. He then proceeded to try to drive it. When he dropped it off at the shop he tried to drive it into the shop's garage again. My mechanic found a huge crack in the transmission that was fresh, and it's from when he put his weight on the clutch and broke it. I'm shocked that they're in business. read more

Never purchase a car battery from this business, they will scam you and install the wrong battery into your car and not care at all. They will scam you and not honor a warranty on your battery and could not care less to make it right because AAA lets them get away with it for some reason. I went to Costco and installed a battery myself rather than deal with this company and AAA, their system is insane and I can only assume it is built to scam people. My battery died so I called AAA. They dispatched someone from Westside Tow. Nicest, most helpful guy ever came with a battery pick-up truck. He got me started again, told me how to recharge the battery so it does not die before I can get to the dealer the next day, gave me helpful analysis and information to inform my car dealer to help them diagnose the problem. He did offer to sell/install a new battery for about $200+ (pretty much the standard AAA battery rate AAA texted that even before he arrived.) I thought about it--but he showed me the battery that fits my car in his truck and it looked like S--T. I could not buy that battery--dirty, banged up, no date code on it--who knows how long it's been sitting in that truck? It could have been used? I declined anyway because I get all my service at the Honda Dealer. The next morning thankfully due to his recharging advice, the car started up again and I drove to the Honda dealer. At the dealer I told them that AAA said that the CCA (Cranking Amps) part of the battery was bad and I should replace the battery even though it was holding Voltage. Honda tested it and said the battery was completely fine. I left it for an hour so the battery could discharge a little and they retested it and then said it was bad. It was a 2.5 year old battery. So I just bought a new Honda battery at the dealer for $125.00 plus tax and they installed it free. Gave me piece of mind. read more

I think it depends who you get. This place seems to be hit or miss. It was a major miss for me. and don't even have it in me to get into what liars some of the people who work there are and shape shifters. Just be very vigilante if you use them. and on top of everything. You might get soemone who is professional and above board and you might not. AAA sent out the most rude, angry, obnoxious Westside Tow driver to tow my car today. He was literally yelling at me, a security guard who tried to get him to calm down, and 2 other bystanders. It was so completely unprofessional and unnecessary, that guy needs to be fired. But when Andrew called me to follow up, they didn't seem to care one bit. Westside Tow sent a driver named Saeed to pick up my Honda Civic on May 5 in Culver City CA. I asked the driver if he was going to deliver my car to the Body Shop which AAA texted me as the destination. He told me NO, he was taking it somewhere else. I asked him for the name and address of the Body Shop, and he told me he would call me within an hour, to give me this information. HE NEVER CALLED ME BACK. I NEVER HEARD FROM HIM AGAIN! I spent the entire afternoon calling the tow company and AAA to find out where my car went. Finally discovered it had been taken to a luxury car body shop I never heard of. I called AAA and got them to pick up my car again and take it to the right place this time. It was delivered A SECOND TIME TO ANOTHER WRONG PLACE! Hubby's lack of motoring, not unlike mine, put Westside Tow/Brentwood Club Service into action yesterday via his AAA Roadside Assistance membership but it wasn't as easy for him as it was for me to access just weeks ago. You see, he's "Radio Generation", I'm a trailing edge "Baby Boomer". We get along great until it comes to his resistance to technology. Twenty minutes of him pushing teensy, Blackberry-sized buttons on his flip phone, yes flip phone with an AARP endorsed Consumer Cellular account (He says, "If it's good enough for Warren Buffet, it's good enough for me."), he had a melt down being prompted to accept virtual assistance, encouraged to receive text messages, not being able to talk to a living, breathing, human person. With a promise of bourbon rocks upon his connection with a Westside Tow/Brentwood Club Service technician to get his car running again, I grabbed his flip phone, redialed AAA Roadside Assistance, rejected prompts for text/virtual assistance and got him to the living, breathing human person he wanted to reach earlier, who pleasantly assisted. Props to AAA Roadside Assistance for still having real people standing by to take calls for people, for people like the technology challenged love of my life! Long story longer, his vehicle's five-year-old battery needed to be replaced as per the highly professional Westside Tow/Brentwood Club Service technician who arrived ahead of the estimated time, checked the alternator, jumped the battery then advised to drive for about an hour to further do so but replace it ASAP. Props to Westside Tow/Brentwood Club Service! Home at last, his car back in action, bourbon rocks, feet up, solidified buying him a smartphone is a segue to divorce. Antonio was the Driver who picked up my 500SL in late 2021. The mechanics at RPM Motors told me not to start the car or drive it, there was a risk of engine damage. I asked the tow-truck driver to not drive my car up the flat-bed, by the mechanics advice. He said "Give me the key!" And proceeded to start my car and drive it up the flatbed. He came back December 2022 to pic up my 300SL, he was angry and damaged the area around where the tow hook goes. My vehicle wouldn't start. I was about a block from Westside Tow. My hood was up. A driver from Westsife tow pulled up next to me, and started helping me, which I thought was odd, because I hadn't called AAA yet. He had concerns about the size of my van. I understand that. He then got me on his flatbed. We were about to drive away, and he realized I was not the person he was supposed to tow. He then Dropped my non running vehicle back onto the street with my rear tires to feet from the curb, and my front tires four feet from the curb, then he left. I called AAA, and asked for a tow. They sent another driver from Westside Tow, who was immediately making excuses that I would not fit on his truck. He began taking pictures of my vehicle. I explained that the previous driver from his company left me illegally parked. The lazy driver did nothing but make excuses about why he refused to help. I called Westsude tow, and a woman named Myra answered the phone. She immediately began making references to the photos and saying my van was too large. I explained that their other driver left me four feet from the curb, as I was standing next to the vehicle. She told me over the phone that I was not four feet from the curb. She was looking at photos from the rear of the vehicle. The previous driver drilled me in the street at an angle. Westside refused to help get me back into a legally parked position, then put me on hold indefinitely. They left my vehicle at a 45 degree angle parked 2 feet and 4 feet from the curb, then abandoned me there. Disgusting work ethic. Unprofessional . This is how the driver left my vehicle in the street. Myra at Westside tow had zero ethics and ignored my request for help to at the very least, be parked legally as I was prior to their driver picking up my van. read more

I broke down on the 405 and barely managed to pull to the shoulder. I went through AAA and within minutes, Pedro from Westside Tow called me to tell me he was on his way and to get my exact location. He assured me he would be there soon and not to worry. It turned out my gas gauge was broken, so though the gauge said half a tank, it was empty. When I say he had to risk his life by standing in the slow lane of the 405 just to put gas in my car, that is no exaggeration. Cars were not slowing down for him either. My car started and he said I had to fill up soon, so he told me where the nearest gas station was and followed me there to make sure I found it, filled up, and the car was running ok. Something that normally ruins your day, just became a minor annoyance resolved in minutes. Called AAA for a tow, AAA's ETA was 1 hour, Westside Tow sent Bernal Franco who arrived in 15 min! Mr. Franco was courteous, kind, helpful and had a calming demeanor in a stressful situation. My vehicle was already hooked up to the tow truck, when I got a call from my mechanic, who stated that he could not receive the vehicle in his shop that day because he was completely full! I was at a loss. I couldn't even leave the vehicle where it was because street cleaning was minutes away and the surrounding area was permit parking only. Luckily, Mr. Franco gave me some recommendations for trustworthy mechanics nearby that would take my vehicle, which ended up saving me money on the tow. I even tried to tip Mr. Franco and he said that I should use it to pay the mechanic. I mean, how selfless is that? Best experience I've ever had with AAA or a tow company. FIVE STARS! read more
