Thus began the search for a balance of cost and service. We know that this old house has some knob and tube, so we made the electricians we called aware of this at the onset. Some politely refused, some were too busy to make it out anytime this year, and some just plain didn't call back. Fuller called back quickly, scheduled a seasoned pro (you know this because they text a picture of the person coming, with a brief resume attached--a nice touch and made us feel comfortable with letting just anyone into the house) he showed up at the very front edge of the window they set for him to arrive, and immediately got to work on discovering what was up with the outages we called about. I should note that the diagnostic call does cost around $300, so you'll want to add that to the total price of your repair, and be fairly certain you want to hire a company for those repairs, as I am guessing company A won't just trust company B's assessment. They scheduled the work just a few days after the initial consultation. Again, right on time, and working clean, respectful of our space and clear about what he was doing. Exactly as expected. If everything had ended there, I would have been suitably impressed, but the old house had some tricks still planned and the newly installed breakers tripped shortly after the repairs. I emailed that night, nearly 11pm, to say that the problems had moved/ still persisted. When I got up in the morning, Patty Fuller, owner, had personally written to me to apologize and schedule a return of one of the electricians to check the work. They came out again, made adjustments and fixed the problems quickly and without further cost to me. Then the electrician and Ms. Fuller contacted me again once I was home from work to make sure that their fixes were suitably working as when they made the repairs I was not home. Plus they sent a supervisor, the same person who originally came out to diagnose the work, to verify the work and double check. I'm impressed and I will use them for (I know my old house...) the next time.
