We had a rather complex move over three days. On the first day, seven professional packers showed up on time to pack and wrap our furniture, clothing, household fixtures, and equipment. On the second and third day, the team arrived on time and loaded their trucks. First, moving to a rental with some of our furniture; next, some of our furniture was moved to our home that is still under construction; further, some of our furniture was moved to a consignment seller; and finally, the remainder of our furniture was transferred to their storage facility. Seriously. You absolutely need to consider Reliable Delivery for your moving needs. From my initial inquiry to signing the paperwork after the move was complete was a 10 out of 10 experience. I submitted my initial inquiry on a Sunday thinking I wouldn't hear back until Monday. I received an email from them within a few hours advising me of their hourly rates. Their website made it clear there was a $40 fuel charge in addition to the hourly rate so there were no surprise charges. The communication I received from Josh and Daniel was amazing! They demonstrated a solid understanding of my needs and set accurate expectations. On the day of the move, Dan and Joe arrived about ten minutes early! AND they contacted me about 15 minutes prior to their arrival. None of that "We'll be there between 8am and 8pm" b.s. that you hear from so many companies. Dan and Joe were highly professional and knew exactly how they were going to be moving my items. While I didn't have any furniture for them to move, I had dozens of boxes and totes which had to be carried down a flight of stairs, around the building, and up several more sets of stairs to their truck. Before starting, they wrapped my door, door frames, and the drywall near the door with protective coverings, and they had everything loaded within 60 minutes. My new home is in a downtown area, but I'm thinking they must have found a commercial loading zone nearby or scored a lucky spot somewhere. I didn't see it, but they arrived at my new place and worked with the HOA moving coordinator to get everything up to my floor. And by no surprise, they unloaded in a quick pace. Before signing the final paperwork after the move, Dan explained each charge on the invoice, and as I mentioned earlier, there were no surprises. I hate moving. I don't know anyone who actually enjoys moving. But if you want to make any part of your move significantly more convenient, USE RELIABLE DELIVERY. FYI**California State Regulated Double Drive Time is, California moving companies aren't allowed to charge you in the morning for the time it takes to drive from their warehouse to your pick up location. And they're not allowed to charge you for the time it takes to drive back from the drop off location back to their warehouse. Hi everyone, I was quoted nearly $3000 by this company. Please see the conversation via email that ensued below: Me: Hi Josh, is it possible that the move might take 8 hours or less? 12 hours seems like a lot of time for a move for an 800 sq ft studio apartment to 1000 sq ft one bedroom apartment. Movers: We only have a 5-hour minimum on Saturdays bill by 15-minute increments after that, so yes it could be the move requires less time but without a list of items or knowing what we're packing I had to go on the safe side for the estimate. We bill from dispatch until we return to our facility which is in the same location as our partners at Allied that you contacted here in Poway, CA 92064. We have a 2.25 hour drive 130 miles up to your Wilshire location and on a Saturday at the end of the move it's a bit over 3 hours return so there is about 5 to 6 hours of drive time in addition to the time packing, loading and unloading Me: Hi Josh, so I am being billed for 5.25 hours of drive time on top of the moving? Movers: Good morning Gloria, We bill from dispatch to return, meaning the billable hours for our services are dependent on the time to drive to your location, perform whatever services you need there, drive to the destination, unload and place items in the new home and time to drive back to our facility, so yes we do bill for the time to drive to and from your locations at the quoted hourly rates. I'll keep this short and simple. We were quoted a flat rate for what it would cost and a time of payment they decided to charge us labor and it cost over $8000 for one block move for a three bedroom three bath apartment. And they wanted to charge us almost $400 to deliver items in storage to our address. This was a couple of years ago, but I decided to mention it now because who knows how many other people have been over charged by this company. Personally I don't care if they comment or reply to this whether good or bad, agreeing or not. What I am writing is the truth so I do not care. This was my second time using Reliable Delivery - this time to move out. Josh was very responsive on the phone as always. He helped me coordinate logistics as our situation evolved. Moving is always tough, but we couldn't afford any mistakes this time. I can't stress enough that PREPARATION IS KEY, and Reliable will help you with that if you ask! After making sure we had the right setup, our movers showed up on time (a little early even), and got right to work. Alan, Ivan, and DJ were a great team. They carefully wrapped our furniture, helped me finish the boxes I hadn't had time to complete, and followed all instructions given. Reliable delivery was awesome! I'd definitely use them again. I really appreciated their professional movers. All my furniture was either shrink-wrapped or blanketed. They were careful with my fragile belongings, and they went above and beyond to help my family with our move. I like that I had the option to pack up and have them store my household items with them. There was a delay in closing escrow on our new home, but our old home had closed, and we had to move out. The guys who came and moved me were greats but this narcissist business is a thief and I am filing a complaint with BBB he charged 40% more than the last two companies I used by charging for two extra BS hours and forcing fees for products used that I already had on hand. I came back to work with them again because in my experience they are incredibly responsive and communicative (Josh answered millions of questions for me each time to make sure the move would work out perfectly), give a solid and accurate ballpark quote, and take care of my belongings. I had a super positive experience with Reliable Delivery. I was moving my apartment contents from San Diego to a new place in Los Angeles (still a local move). The initial communication was super easy, straight forward, and I appreciated the clarity in scheduling, as well as the email availability. The day of the move, the two movers were *gasp* early! I can honestly say, that's the first time that has ever happened to me in 6+ moves over the last 10 years or so. Alan and Arthur were awesome. They moved quickly, asked questions as needed, and were super respectful. They padded the doorways well, and I really appreciated that they laid moving rugs down so as not to damage or dirty the floors in and out. They took awesome care of my furniture and boxes; communication was efficient and easy. Will 100% recommend this company (and suggest you ask if Alan/Arthur have availability!). Probably a little pricier than some other options I got quotes from (this was a base rate of 120/hr, whereas a couple other companies quoted me at 108/hr), but entirely worth the extra couple hundred dollars, in my opinion. THIEVES! If you value your belongings, Reliable Delivery is NOT Reliable! Collin and Jesse were my movers in March 2020. I chose Reliable Delivery because of their great reviews, accolades and of course their name. Collin was very firm with me saying that nothing would be loaded onto the truck that wasn't secured. His manager Josh confirmed this. His attitude was not what you'd expect from a company with awards for customer service. Jesse's attitude was much more professional. My Bose Bluetooth speaker wasn't secured in it's original box and was moved while I went to get more tape to secure it. Jesse was in the room with me. Collin was emptying the garage and moving boxes I had stacked near the doorway of the condo to help move things quickly. No one knew where the Bose speaker was or saw it. The box that it was in was placed at my new address empty on a shelf in the garage. I texted Collin and reported the missing speaker. I had a brand new replacement queen size mattress protector in the origin garage, in the box it was shipped in, also not secured and Collin was told not to load it. Why were they loaded not secured? He was also told not to load a huge box of wardrobes that I purchased from Amazon. When I questioned where the box was, he disrespected me by raising his voice, asking me if I wanted him to unload. I am a single Black woman who hired this company to move me and/or store my belongings. I'm sure if I were a man, he wouldn't have spoken to me in that manner. Long story which I will tell to whomever asks. To be brief, my Bose Bluetooth speaker and the mattress protector were STOLEN and my Total Gym, Fluidity Ballet Barre and a lighted makeup mirror were damaged. I received a check for $45 for my speaker, mattress protector and mirror. Nothing for my exercise equipment. I was told by Josh, the manager, who also has a customer service problem, that they don't hire people that steal! Telling me that my speaker will show up when I've gone through all my boxes. It did not. He also told me that their reputation was very important to them. I guess importance doesn't have value to this company. It was a horrible time to move, during a pandemic with very little housing availability and a state of mind caused by the pandemic. I just realized that I put my Onyx earrings in that speaker box because I left them on the bathroom counter. Thinking they would be safe inside. Hopefully there's nothing else missing! Had an extremely smooth, organized move all thanks to the team. Joe, Kevin and Carlos were the three movers who helped us day-of and they were super friendly and efficient, and took really great care with all of our things. They were also so efficient that the move ended up taking less time than I'd originally been quoted, so the price was literally a few hundred dollars less than I'd expected. Great experience, these guys were fast & efficient. All of the crew were careful with COVID precautions and friendly in the process. From scheduling and discussing prices to the drop off, the crew was communicative and professional. They moved all of our furniture and boxes in two days- a day to pack and a day to move. They took great care of our stuff and made sure to be quick so we could get all of the baby stuff ready for immediate use. We moved from a 4 bedroom house and they recommended 2 trucks and 5 movers. In the end, it is worth every penny. Our move was a such a breeze thanks to SD Reliable--specifically thanks to Collin, Ivan, and John who helped us move from our downtown, 1-bedroom, 6th floor apartment to our rental house in Kensington. These guys showed up on time, assessed the elevator situation in the building, and got right to it. I first contacted them in 2016 when I packed my home and moved out of town. They did it all and everything was smooth. 6 years passed and in 2022 I had to move back so I called them. The quote was reasonable and the service impeccable. It is a family business and Josh B. managed it both in 2016 and in 2022. The 3 movers that actually did the job were very professional and efficient. Moving is a VERY stressful experience but this company made a huge difference to me. I was so positively impressed with their professionalism and reliability that I called them for a smaller job. Be aware there is a minimum amount of hours required and the labor time is charged from the moment they leave their home base until they drive back, which is customary. They arrived ahead of the scheduled time, packed and moved our offices in a record 4.5 hours, and unpacked the office in less than an hour. I needed movers for a long distance move, from San Diego to Glendale, and Reliable Delivery was the most reasonable priced for us. I have never used movers before and decided to take a gamble with them because of the number of years they have been in business and the number of good reviews. My movers were Collin and Matt. Right from the start they were really professional and we got all of the paperwork and logistics out of the way. They were efficient all throughout the day. No dilly-dallying whatsoever. I was actually amazed by their communication skills and strength they used in maneuvering furniture up our U-shaped stairs and getting our big sleeper in the door because that thing is super heavy. It's taking me a long time to write this review because I was so upset! I used them last year and they totally screwed up. They sent a truck that was too small after we had had a conversation that the truck would be large enough and then the movers were playing Tetris trying to fit my furniture into the truck which barely fit. This caused it to take way more time than what was estimated! I ended up spending $300 more than anticipated, plus a few items were damaged from being squeezed into the truck. Super stressful on moving day to find out the truck was too small. Moving is stressful enough without having to deal with this kind of unprofessionalism on the day of your move. Don't waste your money and find a company with better integrity! This next part is written in response to Daniel's response to me: what you responded was actually not correct. I had a conversation with Josh requesting a larger than 16 foot truck. And my 2019 move did not have significantly more items. The longer time was definitely due to the small truck and trying to fit things in there, which also resulted in damage to some of my items. Just wanted to clarify and keep this aligned with what actually happened. I appreciate that you are wanting to work with me and look forward to hearing back, thank you. Update 2: Daniel has removed his response to replace with the current one that has less info...interesting. In the meantime, I found my receipt for my first move which was half the price of the second move with approximately the same amount of stuff! This act about wanting to work with me is about wanting to shut me up and not about wanting to do right by me. Profit above people: Such a disappointing experience, and I want everyone to have the correct picture of what to expect should you fall into my similar situation. I signed up with this company while nearing the end of closing on our new house. As anyone can expect, things with the real estate process got delayed because of the pandemic, and our timeline got pushed out. Reliable Delivery will not be friendly and flexible with you if you need to make adjustments or cancel, even with ample time (over a week) to adequately find a replacement for your spot. Their "no exceptions" rescheduling/cancellation fee ($100) will be enforced, they will not be understanding of your situation, and they will squeeze you for your dollars--even while approaching their "busiest season" where they will have plenty of people looking to move. The main reason this is important to know is that it's clear their company policies and making profit are more important to them than their relationships with their customers. And if this is their philosophy before I even leverage their services, then you can bet there are other areas where they will do the same. In my situation, Josh leaned heavily on the "it's clearly in the agreement you signed" approach to justify his inflexibility--I'm in the personal services industry, our customers have the exact same type agreement with us. The difference is: the best companies consider their customers' situations, openly seek solutions, and help plan for conditions that are out of their customers' control. Moving hardly *ever* goes as planned. Reliable Delivery had the opportunity to do a really helpful thing, and they very adamantly and staunchly chose not to. If you at all think you will need to adjust or cancel because of things you can't foresee, definitely go with a company that has a friendly and flexible cancelation window (i.e. "if you cancel within 72hrs of your move you get charged"). I've already booked a better team with Beeline Moving and have had a way better experience. Hope everyone finds this helpful; remember during this insane time to be kind, give extra grace to others, help a stranger, go the extra mile--because it can really make a difference out there. read more
