Needed an inspection sticker on Saturday, so, naturally, I Yelped for an inspection place and saw the perfect ratings this place had. It was one of the only places open past 3pm on a Saturday (they close at 6), so I decided to make the drive from the southwest area. When I arrived there were a couple of cars ahead of me, but the staff worked in a timely manner, so I didn't have to wait too long. It took about 15-20 minutes to complete the inspection. Staff is friendly and have manners unlike other places I've taken my cars. They don't make you feel like you're bothering them by bringing your car to get inspected. I'll be bringing my cars here for future inspections as they've earned my business. read more

I had a great auto service shop that closed, leaving me to try and find a new place to build a relationship with. I set out to find a local business that I could support, so I checked out the reviews on Yelp and decided to try the Sticker Station. It's a run-down spot, but some of the best auto service places look a little rough around the edges. So I called ahead and asked if they took drive-ups. I got an enthusiastic yes, so I drove over to give it a shot. I walked in to find one guy sleeping in the waiting area, and another sweeping the floor. I said I had come in for an oil change. I'm not sure the guy sweeping the floor understood me. He motioned and said something to the guy who was asleep...it seemed like he was trying to wake him up. So I stood there for a minute or two, and finally a guy game out who appeared to be in charge. I told him I wanted to get an oil change. He said ok and disappeared into the garage area. Then he came back and said something I couldn't fully understand. I thought he was telling me to pull my car in, but he said no, and said I needed to wait for someone else in the garage area to come in and two to me. Now, they didn't look busy. There were a few cars there, but aside from the guy sleeping in the waiting area (who I think worked there), there weren't any customers. So I waited...and waited...and waited. Finally the older gentleman who had been sleeping - and who clearly could see that this was taking forever - said something to the man who had told me to wait. They had a conversation in a language I couldn't understand, but I could tell the older gentleman was trying to speed things up. But the other man made a gesture toward the garage area like "I've told him to come in and wait on the customer. What else can I do?" Finally after waiting a few more awkward minutes, I grabbed my keys and told them I was tired of waiting and that if they want to retain customers, they need to speed it up a little and at least acknowledge what I'm there for. Then I left, walking past the sleeping guy...who probably passed out waiting to get his oil changed. I'm giving the place one star based on waiting 10 minutes at their counter and never even having someone come in and talk to me about my service needs. That doesn't sound like a lot, but waiting that amount of time to even speak to someone (and I left before anyone came to talk to me...so who knows how long I would have waited) isn't great. I ended up down the street at Kwik Kar (a chain that I really didn't want to go to) and they had my car into the garage and being serviced in literally three minutes. I'm not telling people to avoid Sticker Station entirely. Their prices and services may be great. And clearly some people have had good experiences. But in my case, their timeliness of at least acknowledging a walk-in customer was poor. Support your local businesses, but don't be afraid to let them know when the service disappoints. read more

Extremely quick, and very friendly owner. I had called ahead to see what time they closed--they even stayed open just for me so I could come in that same day. The inspection was quick, which was another big plus. And, as others have said, the bonus cat was fun, too! read more

Cats?! 41.75$ but would have been cheaper with cash ... $39 maybe? Another note, this guy doesn't sell anything else, so there is no motivation for him to fail you on your inspection. Other Places might fail you just so they can sell you a new windshield wiper. read more

Quick inspection, no unnecessary questions or checking. They did not try to sell any thing to me while I was there (like wipers, bulbs etc.). Inspection was finished within 10 minutes. They put the registration sticker and the inspection sticker at the low left corner of the windshield as requested. Highly recommended!! Great place! read more

Very efficient and polite. They get things done! Very reasonable prices. Do not at all agree with the negative reviews. We should support our local businesses. Didn't try to upsell. Will always go here first. read more

Came here because of all the great reviews, and Tariq did not disappoint. In and out in 15 minutes, no hassle. Very friendly. NOTE: He's moved across the street to the former Mr. Transmission, a much larger and nicer place for him. Nice little waiting room. Just drive past where all his UHaul trailers are and make a left, you'll see his sign. And really, if you're going to complain about the extra two bucks for the credit card.... read more

Came here for my auto inspection. They were able to get me in and out in 30 minutes ! Friendly staff, great customer service. Prices are great too! Didn't try to sell me anything else I didn't need or ask for. read more

I needed my car inspected and found this place because of its yelp reviews, and I will definitely come back in the future. Tip: Bring cash and save yourself the $2 charge for paying with card or check. (My car inspection cost was $25.50 since I paid with cash.) They were done with my inspection within about 30 minutes of me arriving, but I was waiting for about another half hour because both my license plate lights were out and they were trying to get someone to deliver the correct bulb type (my car is pretty old so the ones they had in stock didn't fit). There is definitely savings if you install them yourself (the bulbs are about $6 for a two-pack at Auto Zone versus $10 for each bulb they replace there). They were courteous and apologetic about my extended wait time (always appreciated). I also enjoyed playing with the cat that another yelper mentioned in their review while waiting. read more

Their service is friendly, fast and great. $25.50 in and out quick service. I can't complain. Plus they helped me add air into my tires complimentary. From the outside they look shady but they have a little waiting room where you can wait comfortably. read more

Talk about efficient and fast. I went in to get my inspection sticker done. It went nice and smooth I was pleasantly surprised at how friendly and courteous the staff was. If you need to get your sticker I highly recommend coming here :) read more

These guys are awesome, friendly, and will get you out fast. I have been going here for 3 years in a row without a single problem. Their service with a smile is what keeps me coming back every year. They moved to a new location that's a block away at 4802 Larkin St. which is a lot more parking than before and is away from the busy street. read more

I cannot say enough nice things about this business and its fabulous owner. Last year I was meeting some friends in the heights and wanted to get my inspection done before, so I searched nearby and found this gem. Tariq was amazing: friendly, helpful, and happy to explain the process. I had been to the tax office the day before to get my registration sticker and he not only told me that I could have just come to him, but he also changed both stickers for me. I was in and out faster than I have ever been. As if I weren't already raving about all of my friends and family about the service when I went in this year the fuse to the compenent where the emission test plugs into my car was blown. Tariq told me not to worry, had a friend check it, take the spare out of his own car, and place it in mine! Now that is service. It turned out it was the wrong size fuse and so he moved the fuse from my blinkers over, passed my car, and as said that as soon as I get a new fuse to drop by and he will put them all back. I really cannot stress how refreshing and wonderful it was to deal with someone who takes pride in his business and is willing to work hard to keep his customers. Sure the shop isn't brand new but Tariq is so quick its not like you have to stay very long and you really can't beat this kind of service and care. I won't go anywhere else, and neither should you. read more

Tariq is the owner of this 2 year-old small business. He is friendly and I got the sense that he did his best to help customers. He told me one story of how watching a car pull into his parking lot, he knew he wouldn't be able to pass the car for inspection and told the car owner to get a few things fixed before returning. He noted that most cars are in pretty good shape and will pass. I walked in and was the only customer present. I asked for an inspection and he offered to inspect and register my car. I didn't ask for prices, but I figured it'd be worth it to get it all done at once. I forgot my new insurance info, but he had me call my company to fax t to him. He inspected my car, passed it, and then filled out the forms I needed to register my car. Unfortunately, since my partner is the title owner, I had to return after he signed the paperwork. However, Tariq said he would go stand in line at the tax office the next morning and then call me when the registration was ready for pick up. He is very nice and if his office isn't too busy, he'll chat with you about his background and his work. Inspection was about $35. Registration was about $240. Credit cards accepted with a $2 fee. Depending on how valuable/limited your time is, you can register your car yourself or come here. He didn't have a screwdriver to replace my plates, but he did help me get all the right stickers on the windshield and remove old ones. I will definitely come back next year. He's expanded his business to renting out moving trucks and is considering hiring an employee. Support his small, local business because he works hard, seems honest, is reasonably-priced, and has great customer service skills. read more

I always take both my cars for their oil changes and inspections to this shop. They are super quick, and gets customers in an out, with no appointments. Most importantly, they are friendly and straight to the point. Will continue taking my cars there. read more

Getting my car inspected is never something I look forward to, but Sticker Station makes the process as painless as possible. I have been there at least four times and the experience has always been great. I have never had much of a wait, and they have always helped me fix anything that needed fixing in order to pass inspection. They have never charged me until the car passed inspection, even if I had to leave and come back. I have rented U-Hauls here too, and this process has been painless as well. You can rent U-Hauls, and get your car inspected all in the same place. While you wait you can pet the shop's mean looking but friendly cat. I know I will be back. read more

Great, cheap and fast place for an inspection! I came in and had the wrong copy of my insurance card and they kindly waited while i called my insurance to send me an electronic copy. They were very fast (I waited maybe 8 minutes from when I came in) and respectful. Price was reasonable as well. Don't be scared off by the outside read more

Love these guys! They are so nice and friendly! +++ really fast and amazing at their job! I can't believe it's already been a year since I went to them. They have a new location now and have multiple car ports, plus they do oil changes! Im from out of town and this place was recommended to me by a friend, I walked in here knowing nothing about this lengthy registration tag and inspection thing and they walked me through all of it and helped me. They were super patient waiting for me to gather all my things from out of state and even let me use their printer! Then when it was all done they had it all ready in a few days! So of course when I found out my inspection and registration was due again ( actually 2 months ago..) of course I was going back to them! I wish everyone ran their business the way they do. They are thorough and fast at their job, a pleasure to interact with and are so caring when there are hiccups in the process from the customers end. I'm so glad they were recommended to me. They save me so much time and stress every year. I'm a customer for life. read more

I was immediately asked for my Proof of ID & D.L. The representative/owner is very proactive and very friendly. My inspection was handled quickly. I went back a few days after because I was low on air and the rep/owner asked me to meet him across the street at the gas station. He put air in my tires!!! Totally awesome service. read more

You're really doing yourself a disservice should you choose not to go to Tariq's business. I mean the place is called THE STICKER STATION. That's all he does--nothing else. No windshield wipers for sale. No car washes. No nothing. Tariq is a really cool dude as well, extremely prompt with work, customer-service oriented, and very easy to talk to. He began to tell me about how he runs his business, and, without going into too much detail about the car inspection business, he seems to be a very stand-up, ethical business owner in a slightly shady niche. Next time you go in, ask him about it. read more

Needed an inspection....went on a Friday morning around 9am...was in and out in about 20 minutes! Will definitely come back in the future for my inspections and probably for my next oil change. read more

The Best and Only place for Houstonians to get their cars inspected. Tariq, the owner, takes good care of his customers. Sticker Station also rents UHauls. That's another ball of wax, but Tariq makes the process painless and worry free. read more

Quick and friendly. Has some dirty chairs in the waiting room but overall I was pleased. They were courteous and helpful. Will definitely be back for all my car inspections. read more

Wanted to go to a local shop to contribute to the neighborhood. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. The staff was in the office eating and would not even acknowledge or greet me. A couple next to me were waiting also for them to get through eating. I waited 10 minutes for them to at least come and see what I was there for. I got fed up and left. I tried to spend my money locally but ended up having to go elsewhere. read more

I just got my car inspected here on my lunch break and was in and out in less than 15 minutes! The customer service here is great too. They will advise you on the most cost effective way to do things as opposed to just taking your money. I found this place when I needed a U haul in short notice and decided to come back for the inspection. I'm glad I did and I will definitely be back for services! read more

When my usual repair shop wasn't open, I chose this place because of it's Yelp reviews & ratings. Walked in looking for an inspection & oil, which was completed quickly & efficiently! I enjoyed talking with the shop owner who was very welcoming, telling me of his ultimate mission for honesty in his work toward all of his customers & that he views each car that comes in as part of his own family, treating them accordingly. He totally backed that up by walking me through all of his recommendations & tips with great explanation & gave me a very fair price for what my car needed. He also told me to just go to Kroger to get my registration sticker instead of standing in line at the tax assessor's office or waiting for it to come in the mail - very helpful as I got my sticker the same day only waiting 3 minutes at Kroger! It was the owner's open & honest customer service, along with the quality car care, that won me over as a regular customer! I highly recommend checking this place out! Plus there was a furry friend chilling in the waiting area to keep me company while I waited! Company cat for the win! read more

Very nice group to work with. They informed me what I needed to make my inspection, and after the repair, showed me the parts that were worn out. As far as I can tell, prices were fair. To note, had my inspection done, and needed to replace my brake pads and rotors. Would be back. read more

This place has very friendly professionals and it is at convenient location. Will visit again if need a fast work or inspection.

I cannot begin to say what a help it was to me to find this place. I had to change out of state registration and had a divorce and name change. I work and spending that much time in a county office wasn't an option. With the awesome service here I didn't have to do it. Worth every penny! I'd drive twice as far but it is so close everything I don't have to! read more

I was needing a car inspection. Found this place on Yelp, walked in and was out in 15 minutes (though it was also a Wednesday at 10am). Staff was nice, friendly, and efficient. Was happy to have discovered this place! read more

I have been taking my car for inspection here and recently took my BMW for repairs. Honest mechanic and excellent price for repairs.

I've been here twice. The first time I came here was a five star experience! I came on a Saturday in the afternoon and there were 3 people waiting inside. Went in to get my oil changed and my inspection done all in 35 minutes. AMAZINGLY fast! Also provided me with a car fax for my car and that's when I found out that carfax had my mileage about 30k over what was actually on my car!!! So I went to call carfax to get that settled. They don't try to sell you on anything else for your car and that's a big plus. The second time I came here I came in the morning around 9:30am on a weekday. I was the second person to come in and there was one person in front of me. I'm not sure if it was because they were short workers but I waited about an hour and 30 minutes for my oil change and inspection when they told me it would take around 30 minutes! A little disappointed but I will come here again and give them another try for any car needs just because my first experience was just so spectacular. read more

Courteous and fast service. These guys are great. They even let me use their printer. Thank you!

I cannot possibly say enough nice things about Tariq, and how good a job he did. I came here based on 42 five-star reviews that I saw on Gooogle reviews, and I was even more impressed than I expected to be. Short version: I hate getting my sticker changed, its always a pain in the butt. When I came here Tariq was in his office eating... but waved me in anyway. I apologized for interrupting him, and he was very kind, saying "Oh don't worry I just try to grab a quick bite when I can" He told me to wait in the office and he would be done quickly. Another customer came to join me in the office, and before I could even strike up a conversation Tariq was done with my car. I paid, he gave me my keys, and directions back downtown that by-passed lights.... and all of it was done in less than 10 minutes. I almost feel bad telling other people because then Tariq won't be able to help only me! read more

I was in and out for my vehicle inspection. Quick and kind service. I didn't see the famous cat though.

They are genuine and very reliable. No hidden or unnecessary charges. They are so honest. They checked my brakes for free as there was no problem found. Also, filled the air in the tires as an compliment. Amazing customer service!! read more
