Walking through those double glass doors, you can see the crazy inventory and supply of cigars they carry and wouldn't doubt if there's more in the back. It's a pretty wide and open space and there's some seating to smoke a cigar inside if you so desire. I went in needing to find some maduros for my dad as a gift and we were able to find a few at different price points so I could makeshift my own tasting box. The staff here is pretty straightforward and to the point which is nice. I had gotten some advice on cigars priced around $10 a piece, $25 a piece, and $45 a piece. Grabbed a few at each price point and knew that this gift would be a super solid one for my dad. After I inquired about the duration for transporting them on a flight, they came to the rescue with a mobile humidor packet to keep them in tip top shape. My time here had me feeling like I was back at my great grandpa's with all the tchotchkes one could possess. Towards the entrance was a large pile of cigar boxes that their inventory came in and they sell them as storage or gift boxes. Every box came from different makers and consisted of wood, tin, and everything in-between. With the help of a friend, she was able to help me find a Rocky Patel Box that was perfect. The chairs are comfortable, there is a front room and a back room with pool table and flat screen. The front room, with walk in humidor, also has a flat screen. The guys there are really good at helping make selections if you have never smoked a cigar before or have for several years. I have found their emphasis is on finding the right cigar for your taste - not trying to push the most expensive stick on you. What a relief! They also have a cigar club that meets once a month where education is the focus. I drove right by it again, even with the help of my GPS. Had to drive around the corner and back again. Small, well displayed, clean, comfortable. The basics in your smoking needs. The young man who worked there was super nice, his father is the owner. We chatted a bit about this and that and the pot laws and such. Frendly and helpful, I checked out the tray of "chillems", having recently had mine broken :(. They were $15 and $20, lots of options and very pretty. The one I had to have was $20 and I asked for a small discount, he obliged, which is always a positive in my book. Here's the thing. They have chillems at the bodega near my house for $8, 10 and 12. They are not nearly as nice of course. The one I recently bought was $11 with tax in Vancouver. So, maybe it makes sense to consider your location, the competition, and price accordingly. Also - the signage is ridiculously absent. The place itslef is lovely and the proprieters just peachy from what I can tell. But you know, I tell it like it is.
