I couldn't drive for an hour without severe pain. I would have my wife drive and I would assume my favorite position in the back seat. Serena spent a half hour checking me out, then gave me six exercises to do every morning and said it would take six weeks for the sciatica to heal. That was six months ago. The pain did go away within six weeks and has not returned. I still take 5-10 minutes a day doing the exercises, and recently drove four hours to see my son and his family without problems. I can't thank Serena enough for getting my life back.

But instead, she went right to discover the core of the problem. She examined and analyzed the body as a whole and started treating the route causes with me, which included postnatal PT. I received tailored exercises for different parts of my body, which improved my back pain, and additionally gave me more stability and strength in core supporting muscles as well. I really appreciated her comprehensive perspectives and her focus on long-term improvement, which I can maintain myself by continuously tailored exercising. Thanks so much, Serena! Oh, PS, she is a lovely person too :)

I learned more about my body in one session than anything I've learned from YouTube videos or AI in the past decade. We started the session off by going over my exercise and injury history. Then we went over what exercises I do and Queene chose a few of them that were likely causing me problems given my history. She has great experience and intuition about what's going on with my body. We went through the exercises and her intuition was right every single time. These exercises revealed imbalances between my left and right side that I had no idea about, and Queene helped adjust them with proper form and range of motion. She also added a few more exercises. All of this resulted in my body loosening up, with much better range of motion on my squat, and my lower back felt better after a previous tweak. Then, we did some massage and cupping, which was helpful for figuring out more things that were going on with my body. We finished with foam rolling to help address all of the issues that Queene found. At the end of the session, Queene asked if she could give me a hug. That tells you everything you need to know about the kind of person she is. I left the session impressed by Queene's depth of knowledge and her ability to give thoughtful feedback. Most importantly, her genuine care for others shined through--she took the time to educate me and help my body move better with less risk of injury. Her care for others extended beyond my session. When I was working out with a friend afterward, she took the time to teach him new movements and cues for his sports training. I can't say enough good things about Queene, Joey (the founder), and Progressive Motion as an organization. People there were friendly, caring, and knowledgeable. Fitness is one of the pillars of mental and physical health. Progressive Motion is the place to go to address all of your fitness needs.

I tried traditional…read morehospital-based PT via the various health systems over the years (doing the usual stuff like clam shells, planks, hamstring stretches, etc), but sitting and lifting were still painful. I had basically given up and came to believe that I would be living in pain for the rest of my life. Eventually I stopped doing PT and would just pay lip service to the idea of it. It was only after I starting going to Progressive Motion and seeing Bryan Mai, who taught me about properly stacking my hip and ribcage and breathing into a hardened lower abdomen while lifting, along with proper form adjustments during specific movements like deadlifts, squats, etc, that I found that I could actually live life without recurring pain. I am now starting to believe once again that my physiotherapy exercises actually help, and do them consistently. So thanks Bryan and Progressive Motion in making me believe that my PT exercises actually do make a difference!

Diablo West Review…read more WOW! I am a lucky man! I was rear-ended at high speed and spent 6 hours in the hospital. My doctor prescribed physical therapy for my back and legs. I picked Diablo West for the PT because it was close to my house. After my first 3 visits with Audrey Ang at Diablo West, I feel great and would drive anywhere in the Bay Area to continue if I lived elsewhere. Diablo West is a small, wonderful environment with open spaces and private therapy rooms. Plenty of free parking. Audrey Ang is easy to talk to, completely understands me and my needs, and communications and teaches very clearly and completely. I have had 2 previous PT professionals with broken bones many years ago. Both were good, but if I had to rank them on a 1-10 scale, the other two would get a 5 and Audrey would get a 10+++. My injuries from the car accident are almost completely repaired, and many of my physical problems over the past years are significantly improved. I already feel like a healthy, younger man. Thank you Audrey!! I am lucky to have found you for physical therapy. If you need PT, go see Audrey Ang at Diablo West in Menlo Park.

I appreciate that fact that he doesn't just address the issue that's bothering you but helps you look at the "bigger picture" in terms of your overall health. Highly highly recommend! Thank you Joe!

In the middle of training for a 100 mile running race, I had the misfortune of pulling a hamstring muscle. This might have spelled disaster, but in a matter of weeks, Joe was able to not only get it functioning but also educate me on possible root causes and fixes. I was able to attend a high mileage training camp that never would have been possible without Joe's help. Joe takes the time to really understand what's going on by listening and asking questions. He uses a variety of techniques, such as acupuncture, cupping, ART, and stretching to fix the problem, but he doesn't stop there. I believe Joe's uniqueness is in how adept he is at discovering the underlying issues causing the problem(s). Both he and his wife, Sara, are highly successful athletes themselves, so when you explain your issues, he really understands and takes the time to get you moving properly. I would recommend Joe not only to people currently experiencing an injury, but also to those who have any pains at all. It is worth the investment to get in and get fixed early before it impacts your life and Joe will help get you on the right path to prevent future injuries. He is professional and caring and really knows his stuff inside out. My next review will be after I finish the 100 mile race successfully without injury thanks to Joe's expertise. I really cannot thank him enough.

There were a few nurses who were truly compassionate -- they hugged us, reassured us, and made it clear that my father's comfort mattered. Those moments meant more to us than they will ever know. However, there were also nurses whose approach felt cold and dismissive. One nurse was so blunt that he didn't even finish feeding my father because it was taking him too long to chew. In a place meant for comfort and dignity, moments like that were deeply painful to witness. The facility itself could also use more nurturing care. The environment felt in need of better cleanliness and attention, which is especially important in a setting where families are already carrying so much emotional weight. Sadly, my father passed away. I do want to acknowledge one nurse on the third floor who stood out beyond words. From my very first visit, which was incredibly emotional she assured me she would take the best care of my father, and I believed her. Her compassion, warmth, and humanity brought comfort to our family during the hardest days of our lives. I saw her again recently and couldn't help but hug her. If you are reading this, please know you are truly an angel. I only wish I had remembered your name. May God bless you with love, peace, and happiness. Hospice care should be built on patience, kindness, and dignity. I hope this facility reflects deeply on the care it provides, because families will remember these moments forever.
