The pain did go away within six weeks and has not returned. I still take 5-10 minutes a day doing the exercises, and recently drove four hours to see my son and his family without problems. Landed oddly on a rebound and immediately felt something off in my right side lower back. I self-rehabbed at home, but couldn't get to a point where I had the confidence to lift or hoop confidently. I came to Progressive Motion hoping to assess my injury, gain the tools I needed to get back to hooping/lifting, and hopefully learn what I can do to prevent that injury in the future. Dr. Matt took good care of me, assessed my movement/jump, and gave me 4 drills to take back home and rebuild strength in my hips & lower back. It's been almost a month since my first appointment, and after doing these drills daily, I was able to get back on the court last weekend and run full-court 5s pain free. I'd highly recommend Progressive Motion for your physical therapy needs! Especially if you're a 'weekend warrior' hooper like me. Clean, state of the art facilities and the most cordial, knowledgeable professionals. Thank you PM team!

I never really considered seeing a physical therapist until I started working with Dr. Joey, and I'm so glad I did. During my sessions, we worked through targeted exercises and drills, along with cupping therapy, to improve my mobility and reduce pain. Dr. Joey took the time to educate me on the root causes of my issues and provided video demonstrations of exercises I could continue doing at home. Over time, I noticed a significant improvement in my range of motion and a reduction in pain, especially with everyday activities like bending down and picking things up from the floor. Now that Dr. Joey and Dr. Josh have opened their new facility in Redwood City, I've been able to continue my strength training while also rehabbing my knee in their gym. What really sets Progressive Motion apart is the integrated approach they offer. Not only do you have access to exceptional physical therapy, but there are also in-house personal trainers available to help guide you through your workouts. The entire staff is incredibly knowledgeable, approachable, and supportive. Whether you have questions about exercise form, movement mechanics, or injury prevention, there is always someone available to help. It's reassuring to know you're surrounded by Licensed massage therapists, physical therapists, and personal trainers/strength coaches who share a common philosophy. As well as, individuals who genuinely care about helping you move and feel better. I highly recommend Progressive Motion to anyone looking for physical therapy, injury recovery, or simply a supportive environment to improve their strength and overall movement quality.

In the middle of training for a 100 mile running race, I had the misfortune of pulling a hamstring muscle. This might have spelled disaster, but in a matter of weeks, Joe was able to not only get it functioning but also educate me on possible root causes and fixes. I was able to attend a high mileage training camp that never would have been possible without Joe's help. Joe takes the time to really understand what's going on by listening and asking questions. He uses a variety of techniques, such as acupuncture, cupping, ART, and stretching to fix the problem, but he doesn't stop there. I believe Joe's uniqueness is in how adept he is at discovering the underlying issues causing the problem(s). Both he and his wife, Sara, are highly successful athletes themselves, so when you explain your issues, he really understands and takes the time to get you moving properly. I would recommend Joe not only to people currently experiencing an injury, but also to those who have any pains at all. It is worth the investment to get in and get fixed early before it impacts your life and Joe will help get you on the right path to prevent future injuries. He is professional and caring and really knows his stuff inside out. My next review will be after I finish the 100 mile race successfully without injury thanks to Joe's expertise. I really cannot thank him enough.

He really enjoys their outings and approach to memory care - it's like a resort for folks with cognitive issues. Kensington staff have made it possible for me to live my life while they handle the day-to-day care my LO needs. Dementia is not easy, on patient or family, Kensington staff, support and care have been amazing. We had falls - all were handled with careful attention to his wellness, disclosed openly and honestly with me. A couple falls meant EMT's or a hospital was necessary but no falls resulted in any significant injuries. I suspect falls for elderly, fragile, dementia patients with poor mobility are to be expected. Kensington always called to let me know what happened and made recommendations to prevent it in the future. They gave me ample opportunity to state any concerns too. I've found Kensington food is always great - fresh, tasty and as much variety as he wants. WOW, the deserts are his favorite. ;-) He loves the 'mock-tail' parties with music, dancing and singing. I have found the incentive for all community members (staff, residents and family) to participate in activities very high. I know if my LO doesn't join an event - it's his choice to have some down-time and not be 'made-to' participate. It's his life and this disease takes its toll in many areas - he isn't the person he used to be but he loves his Kensington lifestyle. Recently he told me, "while he can't remember much", he's "pretty sure that Kensington is the nicest place he's ever lived". With all the bad days dementia gives us that one little remark was my win for the year - I hold it very dear and I know that Kensington made it possible. I can't speak all aspects of the one-star review BUT perhaps their loved one needed that one-to-one additional care they are now purchasing with the cost savings at the new facility - each resident is an individual. I read their happy review of their new home and I am thrilled they found a good fit for their LO. I think the Kensington staff seem well compensated and well qualified since we experienced no real turn-over and they are always happy to work with us. However, I too "butted-heads" with some nursing staff. I would fault Kensington with failing to identify those staff members who should not interact directly with family or LO's. Working with 'raw', stressed out families (forced to watch a painful decline) is not in every staff-members toolbox no matter how eminently qualified they are for their day-to-day responsibilities. Kensington is not inexpensive but I would say they offer value. Yes, more costly than other national memory care facilities but I would say marginally more than equivalent facilities. Kensington is new, modern, their care-giver to resident ratio is very low, it's a very active lifestyle for those with cognitive issues. My LO complained often about his last facility (more about 'being in' memory care than their actual efforts). He does not complain about Kernsington or the staff which are always happy, friendly, and genuinely welcoming.

If you wish to put your loved one in a fancy…read morememory care on the outside place, and just live your life with relief your loved one is 'semi ok' without updates then definitely go here. One star given for cleanliness of areas and room, and some very kind staff. This is surface level, however, as LO did not receive care consistently and staff did not have training to do most of the basics. The staff will be attentive on the surface, on day one, then vanish. Management will be all supportive if you keep your mouth shut and any updates will be sporadic, not truthful, inconsistent and sadly, non supportive. Senior leadership lacks oversight and you will be gas lighted on multiple levels. The price is sky high and you do not get what you pay for. Food is good if you order off menu vs vats of food specials. Sadly, they simply do not care much for residents as evident on multiple visits and their motto of caring for your family member like family is not factual. Avoid this place.
