We've learned a few things about skilled nursing facilities. Those near hospitals tend to be bedlam since there's a lot of short term patients who walk the halls. It's difficult to get a long term bed in a place like this. We tried to go to the three places that are within half a mile of our house but we're also close to two hospitals, so it was no go. Sunny View is connected with a memory care and an independent (and assisted) living facility. So it's much easier to get a long term bed, and the place truly is calmer and quieter. The food is better. The staff can provide more attention. The grounds are lovely. There's a very nice central patio area with lots of shade where people can hang out. I'm hoping we can convince his mom to do PT/OT so we can get her outside a bit. Like most people over a certain age, she's depressed that her body doesn't do what she wants it to, and we can only tell her that PT and OT will help with that. But she's content and we're glad she was able to get a bed near a window with a good view.

The entire staff has been amazing and I am 100% sure it contributed to my Father's speedy recovery. This is nothing like other rehab centers that I have been to. It's clean, there is no foul smell, and the food is really good. I would give more stars if possible. Thank you Sunny View!

In my time here I've noticed how happy the nurses seem to be, giggling with one another and with the HSA's and just being so awesome with these residents. These patience / residents who are hurt, who are irritated, who yell, who can be very irritated for their circumstances and I see them just keep going and being pleasant with everyone. It's amazes me at how they do it day in and day out. I had heard that in 2021 that that management had changed. Whoever made those changes GREAT JOB! From the top down, this place is doing a awesome job. This place has made me feel so safe and is allowing me to heal and rebuild myself. The staff and the friends {residents) I've made have made an extension of family in my life. Thank you sooo much for helping me at this life changing time of my life. Thank you: Brittney(Everyone's sunshine and wound nurse expert), Jenora(she went back home to Ohio), Cesar, corazon, christian, martin, elonza, activity director elena and Nanenette, admissions director Zella( Rapunzel),front desk Commander Kaelyn, DON and Big Boss of everyone Glynis, PT Key, PT Stephanie (j/k Sophia, haha) and all the other nurses, traveling nurses, HSAs and staff names I forgot at station 6... To the bosses of these employees that cover station 6, please provide raises to these folks so that you don't lose them. I would not recommend this place to anyone Currently in process of re locating to a honest Facility.

Thank you so much Judy Jackson! You can't know how pleased AND impressed I am that you were able to make this happen in such a time crunch!!! You and your staff have made them feel so welcome and, in fact, so relieved that they are now getting so much support and social interaction that they had become hungry for. Five stars for you! This is a wonderful choice for those looking to move to a senior community.

The worst rehabilitation facility I have ever experienced…read more The staff seem to work together against you rather than with you, and I rarely receive clear answers when something happens. At times, it feels as though they are trying to hide what is really going on instead of being transparent with the family. This facility has gone seriously downhill, and I feel terrible for anyone who has to depend on it for their recovery. The physical therapy has been inconsistent and, in my opinion, inadequate. My mother walked into this facility and is leaving in a wheelchair, no longer able to walk. That is extremely concerning and heartbreaking for our family. Families should be able to trust that their loved ones are receiving consistent, appropriate care and rehabilitation. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience here.

The nurses, therapists, and all of the staff were kind, compassionate, and incredibly patient throughout his stay. The facility is very clean, well-maintained, and has a warm, home-like atmosphere. Everyone genuinely seems to care about the residents and works hard to provide the best possible care. We are truly glad that my husband was able to recover here. Whenever we had questions or concerns, the staff responded promptly and were always willing to help. The only minor drawback was that the facility's attending physician generally visited in the evenings, which made direct communication somewhat difficult at times. Other than that, we were very pleased with the care provided. The activities offered to residents were enjoyable, and the meals were good as well. We were also impressed by how professional and efficient the case manager and administrative staff were throughout the entire process. Thank you to everyone who helped my husband during his recovery. We sincerely appreciate all of your hard work and dedication, and we would highly recommend this facility to others.

Leaving a one star review only because I can't leave a zero…read more We had a horrible experience at Woodlands when bringing my grandpa here for rehab after his 3 month hospital visit. We were deciding between multiple options for rehab, and ultimately picked Woodlands because of the amazing reviews it had. However, there was not a singular positive experience that I could share. My grandpa got released from Good Samaritan Hospital with a strict diet plan and placed into rehab to gain his strength back. The first night the staff talked to us for over an hour asking questions about diet, exercise, medication and etc. We explained how he is strictly on a thick liquid, sugar free and small piece/ground food diet and must be monitored when eating due to his HIGH risk of aspiration. We come to check on him the next morning and see a plate of whole pasta pieces, chunks of honeydew and orange juice placed in front of him, which he was eating alone. Our over an hour conversation was clearly a waste of time as the staff did not listen to us at all. We experienced this situation multiple times. Helen would call multiple times, not even an hour apart, asking what his diet consists of, to not even listen and serve him whatever they had that day. The nurses would take my grandpa out in his wheelchair to stroll around, and one night as we were all visiting, one of the nurses brought him back to his room and we realized how he was disconnected from his oxygen tank. My grandpa went 10 minutes without an outside oxygen source and the nurses only came to help after we had to scurry looking for them, as they clearly did not realize themselves. My grandpa's breathing started to sound crackly and raspy, making us think he aspirated again. As we urgently requested to Helen for a doctor to come and check on him, she kept telling us how the doctor is busy but on his way for about an hour. She then proceeded to tell us how calling 911 might be a better idea. As we rushed him to the ER, we were told he aspirated and had to stay in the hospital again for another 2 weeks on antibiotics in order to heal. Woodlands caused my grandpa to go back to square one, ruining all the progress he made in the hospital. It's hard to see how so many people had good experiences at this rehab center, when for my grandpa it only caused him to get worse. I truly wish we did not bring him here in the first place, as it only weakened and damaged my grandpa further. It's sad to see nurses not care about an elders well being, and not be more prompt in this environment.
