I call out Foraker for solutions and they quoted me for a trenched drain (which would tie in 2 downspouts and a sump pump outlet) and grading of soil in that area. I was led to believe either one would solve my issue. I opted for the trenched drain (which was the more expensive option) because I hoped the final product would look better. At this point, the quote was only given verbally and my agreement was only verbal. I was expecting them to send me a contract to sign outlining the work to be done but that never happened. Next thing I know, I get a text saying they will be out tomorrow to do the job. They completed the project and left without saying a word. I inspect the work after they left and was disappointed with it. They used black corrugated pipe to connect to my white downspout and left it duct taped together. On top of that, it rained the next day and the problem still persisted. So now I contact them expressing my concerns about the quality of work and the persisting issue. I get a very rude response from the owner (Trevor) that he is not changing the pipe color, the duct tape just needs to be removed and the persisting problem is because I didn't do the grading. He stated (in text) that they will come out and put a drain box at the low point of the pooling and tie it in with the drain. I never responded because I was looking into other options. Shortly after with no notice or even a knock at the door, Foraker is back installing the drain box that was never even approved by me. Again after completion, the workers left without a word. A week later it rains, surprise surprise the pooling is still an issue because the soil around the box is lower than the box itself. I get a call from Foraker about payment and I explain the still persisting problem and the remaining issue of the pipe color. This is when the owner THREATENED to come to my house and rip out all the piping because "it's his since you haven't paid for it yet". That's the type of response you can expect from them if you criticize their work. I was the one forced to diffuse the situation and compromise with subpar work. Now I paid $2500 for a drain and drain box that doesn't resolve the issue and that I didn't even ask for. Also stuck with mismatching pipes that I was told to "just spray paint" by the company. All because Foraker doesn't want to fix things the right way and doesn't care about their customers. The owner kept saying how he has 20+ years of experience and I'm surprised they lasted this long with this type of attitude towards customers.

He quickly understood what he thought would be necessary, said he'd pick them up the next day and, once he took them, had them fixed and ready to go in just a few days. He also brought them back with new bulbs, including one that dims (which I hadn't had before). The price was extremely reasonable and he was personable and very polite. He had the best price and moved his scheduled around to accommodate my current needs (house selling, inspections, etc) He was there early and had finished by the time he was actually supposed to be there. It was a simple outlet issue and instead of charging for the outlet, he showed me that the outlet was good just needed to be rewired. He really could have ran the price up but chose to be genuine and when you have someone like that (much like a good barber or mechanic) you don't go elsewhere and you go out of your way to tell people about them.
