Black Forest log slice
Stana B.

Another great Christmas dinner at Reign. We did a 4pm seating. The decor is gorgeous as usual and was pleasantly surprised to see Santa Claus in the hotel before we made our way to the Restaurant. Warm and cozy atmosphere with just enough sparkle. Our server was attentive and lovely. I had the veloute, turkey dinner and Black Forest log slice. The food was all very good. Brussel sprouts could have been less charred. Loved the mash potatoes (no truffle) and stuffing. The veloute was a very generous portion to start as well. I was quite full by time dessert came. The flavours were great with the Black Forest cake and pistachio gelato.

My friend and I went to Reign for Winterlicious. It is located in the Fairmont. The restaurant had a cozy yet elegant vibe, with soft and intimate lighting. I ordered the steak, which was cooked perfectly. Our server was very friendly and attentive.

Came here for breakfast as I was staying nearby before starting the work day. I definitely feel like I was under dressed since everybody was in formal-ish attire. Guess people have a lot of business meetings here before. Prices were okay and not outrageous. The omelette I had was decent but nothing to rave about. But if you are looking for an upscale environment to just have a quick bite, Reign could be your place.

Came here for Sunday brunch at the Fairmont and it was such a lovely experience. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect from a historic luxury hotel--elegant, classic, and timeless. Yes, the hotel itself carries that old-world charm, but that's part of what makes it special. It feels like stepping into a piece of history, but with all the refined service you'd want today. The brunch itself is buffet-style with plenty to choose from, and everything I tried was fresh and well-prepared. From savory dishes to pastries and desserts, there's no shortage of options. Pair it with a mimosa or a coffee, and it's the perfect way to start a Sunday. The servers were warm, attentive, and made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. Nothing felt rushed, just relaxed and elevated. If you're looking to treat yourself or want to enjoy a "luxury-for-fun" kind of weekend outing, this is a great choice. It's not just about the food--it's about soaking in the Fairmont atmosphere and feeling like you're part of something a little more special than your usual brunch spot. Highly recommend.

Burrata

Such a nice ambiance here at Reign which is conveniently located in the Fairmont hotel right across union station! It was definitely a pricier meal but definitely worth it! The burrata was so fresh and the braised short ribs absolutely melted in my mouth! The sticky toffee pudding was also a nice final touch. Over all we really enjoyed our meal and our server was really friendly and attentive.

Steak and eggs

Came here for breakfast as part of staying at the Fairmont hotel. We tried the steak and eggs, farmers breakfast and eggs Benedict. Portion sizes are large for breakfast. The steak was a nice medium rare. All the entrees also came with the potatoes which were very nicely roasted and crispy. Coffee was smooth. Service was great. Fairly pricey for breakfast if you're paying menu prices.

I was here at the lounge service only - for the live music of a local musician I have been interested in, and their cocktails. The performance was 2-4, on Tuesday. I emailed them prior to ask if it is not awkward to go alone just for the music, and they replied very quickly to assure me it is totally OK. So I took half day off from work. I know that they serve good cocktails, so I wanted to try some with music! I was unsure where this lounge is located on the hotel's ground floor which has other bars, cafes and lounge spaces, but once I entered the hotel entrance, I was naturally guided by the beautiful sound of piano, and I knew where I should be heading to. And there I was. The experience was great and unique to me. I was alone, but it was not a big deal as the lounge was a relaxed open space. I was seated at one of their lounge chairs in the space with a small table just for me. Once seated, I felt like I was in a comfortable private space just for me to enjoy music and self-reflection - which I needed right now after series of busy work days! I had one cocktail - Province Cosmopolitan (Absolute citrine, Cointreau, pomegranate, cranberry, lime , syrup, Herb de province syrup) . It tastes light but not lacking booziness. Pomegranate's flavor was unique. Simple but stylish presentation, and the flavors and booze were perfectly balanced. The lounge staff members who served my space were not intrusive, respecting my time. And knew where I wanted their attention - beautiful, and I appreciated it. I found another way for self care. :) Will check their live performance schedule and come back for comfort.

Estate Old Fashioned

I had an awesome experience at Reign. I started with the Old Fashioned, which was exceptional. For dinner, I ordered the Brussel Sprouts and Venison Tenderloin. The Brussel Sprouts were very flavorful, but almost too much. I think they're great to share with others, but there's so much sauce and cheese that it makes you wonder how much health benefit you actually get from eating them. The Ottawa Venison Tenderloin was amazing. I had it medium rare and it was just perfect. Not much else to say. Best dish I have had in Toronto so far. The service was great, Jen did an excellent job. The ambiance was excellent. Old timey music, not too loud, very relaxing. Great environment to have good conversations.

We came here for my wife's birthday and we were really pleased with the service , food , and atmosphere. This is in the lower floor of the fancy Fairmont hotel ( right by Union station). Very cool vibe with the lighting and atmosphere. Absolutely lovely service that takes care of guests. I was greeted by my name which felt so inviting and they were so nice to comp a bday dessert! Loved the Cornish hen and duck and the frites were exceptional , as was the cauliflower soup! #toronto #canada #finedining

Homestead breakfast and reign stack
Kristen K.

Cool, quiet ambiance. Service was attentive and kind. We got breakfast- homestead breakfast with eggs, potatoes, bacon and sourdough toast and the reign pancake stack with strawberries, mascarpone and almonds. No complaints about food at all. Everything was incredibly flavorful and well-presented. Beware: we wanted to get drinks there the night before (Saturday night) and they had a 1.5hr+ waitlist for two people which meant we didn't get in before they had last call. This restaurant is inside a large hotel (the Royal York). Today we waited 15min for two people.

Enjoyed my dinner at Reign! This restaurant is located in the hotel lobby of the Fairmont Royal York, which I believe is accessible via the underground pathway system, the PATH. We came for the Winterlicious dinner set menu and it was well worth it. Each dish was presented beautifully, and tasted as good as it looked. The service and ambiance were spectacular as well. The restaurant had a very classy look and feel. Great spot for dinner if you are looking for a special place to celebrate or treat yourself. I wouldn't mind coming back here again!

It is a very beautiful elegant space looking toward the central buffet area.

A very good breakfast buffet in elegant surroundings. The restaurant is beautifully and classically designed with varied seating areas, so it feels intimate. It is located off the lobby of the Fairmont Royal York Hotel, one of the grand old Canadian railroad hotels, across from the main train station. Our server was one of the most professional and proper waiters I have met in a very long time. He offered options and was very in tune to accommodate for a very nice experience. I wish service was this good everywhere. The breakfast buffet items are good. They will special make omelets or Benedict if you'd like so that it is freshly made and not sitting in a warming dish. BRAVO! I decided to have waffles, and they were so fluffy and delicious with real Canadian maple syrup. This syrup is not comparable to anything we get in the States. You can taste the crunch of sugar. That is how rich it is, and so smooth. I put an ample amount of fresh berries on top, and with some sausage, it was perfect. I also got a bowl of fresh fruit. There are many choices in a very nice display. Although a bit on the pricey side, it is well worth the value and experience.

Summerlicious: Tomato & Stone Fruit Salad appetizer
Ting H.

Love the interior design of the restaurant - inspired by and designed to resemble a train station and the interior of a train. The food was very good overall. I went for Summerlicious Lunch. The Hangar Steak entree was overcooked though - I ordered medium rare but got a very medium steak. Their coffee is good but at $8 for black coffee, it was quite overpriced. Service was good except in the middle of the dining. The guy who brought over my entree basically put it down on my table then turned around and went away immediately and the waiter didn't come by; I even tried to wave him down but he kept walking by turned away. So there were a bunch of things I was missing (like salt and pepper) and couldn't get the waiter until I was halfway done my entree. But good overall.

Ambiance: Stunning from the moment you walk in. Despite the soaring ceilings and two-level layout, the space still feels intimate thanks to the dim, romantic lighting. We loved being seated beside each other rather than across from one another, an option I appreciated compared to the large half-moon booths in the centre of the room. Tables line the perimeter and upper level, while small trees with twinkling lights frame the booths, adding a whimsical, almost magical touch. A window displaying the cuts of steak was a fun and enticing detail. Appetizers & Mains: Every bite impressed. The seafood atop each piece of nigiri was incredibly fresh and buttery, literally melting in your mouth. The lobster mashed potatoes were an indulgent and unforgettable accompaniment to the perfectly tender steaks, which were thoughtfully presented tableside before cooking. Dessert: We saved room (and I'm so glad we did!) My cheesecake arrived beautifully plated with a candle and birthday message, while my boyfriend enjoyed the butter cake. Both were absolutely delicious and the perfect ending to the meal. Service: Every team member we encountered went above and beyond to make the evening feel special, but a heartfelt shout-out goes to our charming server, Vig. He was attentive, warm, and genuinely invested in ensuring each moment felt intentional and unique. He also shared enticing reasons to return for lunch, happy hour, and weekend brunch (options we had no idea the restaurant offered). Thoughtful Touches: From coat check, a welcome birthday cocktail, a personalized birthday card from the staff, to complimentary bubbly with dessert, every detail was thoughtfully considered.
