Dear Michael, June…read more25th 2016 What a wonderful celebration of our fairy tail wedding! Nick and I would like to extend our utmost gratitude to you and your staff for your expert help in making our special day one to remember for a lifetime. Our guests enjoyed themselves immensely and have been sharing their sincere compliments about what an exceptional time they had. They absolutely loved the Mansion, its atmosphere, centerpieces, delicious food, drinks, deserts, espresso bar, music and friendly staff at Mansion on Broadway. It could not have been a better day and we are so pleased the weather turned out so beautiful for family and friends to enjoy an evening on the lovely court yard in front of this magnificent house taking in the sweeping views and romantic sunset. Thank you for your help from the outset with all the many choices, suggestions, guidance and coordinating the many details that went into creating such a wonderful gathering. From the moment we walked in with the Trio Quartet playing beautiful classical music and romantic candles flowing in every room was absolutely breathtaking!!! We appreciate your attention to every detail that created such an inviting and memorable atmosphere for our guests! I'm sure you've heard this a million times, but the guests were just in love with the venue and thought that the event was awesome. Some even said it was the best wedding they had been to. Many thanks again to you and your marvelous staff. Sincerely, Nick & Valerie Porcelli

Why one…read morewould one have a birthday party here- well- it is an entirely big family on both sides, and that space is needed, provided that all of them come. Anyways, This venue is very beautiful, and has a decorated lobby with the party room in front of you, a bar on the side of you, and stairs that lead to the bathroom. One can even hang their coat on the coat rack by yourself! the party room i thought was beautiful, and there was even a stage to use if one wanted. at the party, there was enough room for a bounce house for kids, and a blowup slide, plus a photo booth, and of course all the tables. We did not feel squished at all at the tables, and found the seats very comfortable. The food served was the following: appetizers that consisted of chips, pretzels, and cheese with crackers. We also had sandwiches. Oh and this don't matter as much because i liked the food that i choose, but there was no labels labeling the food at all-- like they had sandwiches, one was a turkey sandwich, and the other with ham- we didn't know what we were taking if we wanted one or the other. (or i don't but what if someone had food allergies) For entrees, there was lots of choices from chicken fingers with fries, to chicken marsala, to brocoli rabe with sausage, a penne ala vodka with sausage, plain pasta, and more! Going back to the not labels- whenever we went up to food, it felt like a guessing game of what we were eating-- in the case of the sausage with brocoli rabe,First off looked like Sausage with spinach to me, and it is not a meal that i normally take but tried it and it was good and enjoyable. The other food was enjoyable as well- such as the penne vodka, and chicken marsala. Even the dessert was good, as i enjoyed the chocolate cupcake. overall had a good time, and great time here. Oh, and eventually used the restroom a few times, and it was very clean.

A major reason why we chose this venue was due to it's location. Our family and friends were coming from NY, NJ, PA, MA, NH, ME, and some southern/western states, so we were looking for somewhere easily accessible from all directions (with no crazy traffic like in BX/LI/NYC), near an airport, hotel, and with a lot of things to do nearby. White Plains was perfect and very charming. Our hotel, venue, restaurants, cafes, stores, mall and after party bar were all within 5-10 minutes of each other and super easy to get to. Christine was our point person from day one. Communication with her was timely and transparent throughout the entire process and her professional demeanor made our experience stress-free. As an out-of-state couple, she was super helpful providing insight, sending pictures, answering questions as they popped up, and scheduling a few visits for us before and after the wedding. She gave her honest opinion which helped us a lot when we were on the fence with a few things. Upon arrival for the rehearsal, we met with Christine and Michelle, who were a great help to us and our families - from the many questions to the many boxes of decorations we brought in ourselves, they had positive attitudes and were able to create a beautiful day for us with the help of their team at CV Rich. We really loved working with everyone there! Since we were not as familiar with the area, Christine suggested having our rehearsal dinner nearby at their sister property, Sam's of Gedney Way. This is where we had our initial tasting for the wedding menu (which was a blast) and where we ended up returning for the rehearsal dinner that was just as fun as our wedding. We had a private room on the enclosed patio, which was perfect for our group. The food was unbelievable - our guests were raving about it all weekend - and the service was amazing. We were able to meet May, head bartender for our wedding, who worked both of these events - she was phenomenal. Photos of the mansion were great - we booked this venue without even visiting - but once we were able to see it in person, it was so much better than we thought. We loved how there were so many rooms for our guests to access and the vast amount of windows that let in natural light throughout the mansion. The rooms were already so nicely decorated, we didn't need to do much to them. There was plenty of room for the items that we did display (6' seating chart mirror, photo frames, guest book, card boxes and small bud vases). The sun rooms were my favorite, and were so perfect for our portrait photos when we were unable to have them outside due to the rain. Having two separate bridal suites upstairs the whole day/night was ideal; this private area was great for getting ready (hair & makeup were done at the hotel) and storing our personal items during the event. Unfortunately, our photographers didn't capture as many photos of the venue itself, which we are very sad about, since everything looked so beautiful (I tried to include a few photos here that do show it off a bit). With rain in the forecast, we knew there was a chance we'd have to move the ceremony inside. Christine was texting with me all morning as we discussed the best possible options. We ended up having the ceremony inside, which was disappointing since we were dreaming of our ceremony in the garden for so many months, but the team made the ballroom look absolutely beautiful and comfortably fit our 155 guests. Christine and Michelle had an assortment of the cocktail hour food sent up to the bridal suite for us to enjoy alone right after our ceremony ended - that time with just the two of us (and food) was so essential, I recommend that to all future couples. The food was outstanding and our guests were blown away by our cocktail hour which included 8 passed hors d'oeuvres, three theme food stations, a full bar, and a coffee/tea/water station. The food during the reception was also phenomenal. For the first time ever, my 6'6 football player groom had no room for a second plate that was offered to him - he thoroughly enjoyed cocktail hour and dinner. Shoutout to May again who made sure we always had our water and favorite drinks replenished at our sweetheart table!Dessert was wonderful for those who weren't too busy dancing or smoking cigars. We had a coffee/cappuccino/espresso cordial bar set up off the ballroom near the exit, but unfortunately not many people knew it was there since there was so much going on in that room. There was a photo booth area, table with a live cigar roller, full bar, and cordial bar all set up in that room (also where the bathrooms were located off of). I was a little uncertain if the dance floor would be big enough for everyone (we were supposed to have 175-200 guests, ended up with 155 with last-minute declines the week of), but with t

The service - well you feel like family. We did a tasting menu that the chef planned. 8 courses (plus bread service). Dessert was served in the kitchen. All courses had a beverage pairing. Menu: Beet / yogurt pairing with little hints of different flavors that surprise you in a good way Tomato soup (cold) - not like anything I have had before. The father of the chef grows the little tomatoes - maybe grape tomatoes. Not sure. The best tomato soup I have ever had - there were three small tomatoes floating in the soup. So tender (no skin). Wow! Raw yellow tail with two differed sauces that you combined it all together - super fresh fish, amazing sauces - I really can't find the words to do justice for this dish. Even my husband who doesn't eat any sushi had this. And loved it. Seas bass on fava bean sauce - likely the best seas bass I have had. I'm used to Black Sea bass off the boat in Montauk; hard to beat this and they did! Tiger prawn tempora - this was served with a cold beer. Omg. I will never have tempora without a beer again. (I generally don't drink beer.) The batter was exceptionally light, the flavor if the prawn shined. Sockeye salmon on rice - I am not explaining this properly. Wowowow Filet beef with a concentrated au ju - perfectly prepared ... so flavorful. So good. Dessert: tiramisu, two different decadent cookies small and wow. Chocolate truffle (maybe not the right word) but wow We started with champagne, had white wine, red wine, beer, and port. The wines were from Portugal and were sulfite free. And they were spectacular in their own right and perfect pairing with the food. We were here for a big bday cele - it was so special. I will never forget! And I look forward to going back. I wish there were more stars to give. Wish there were more adjectives. I am at a loss at how to explain how good this experience was. If you ever get a chance to go, run there! If you haven't been, call and get a reservation or plan an event. This place has great history with an amazing family. Their passion for food and people is off the charts.

In my opinion, this place blew it. They really blew it. I would never trust them to host an event for me. Not a communion--nada...nunca. In short, Apawamis rhymes with can't-stand-us-- that's all you need to know. That's how I felt. In my opinion: They. Just. Didn't. Care. They screwed up every aspect of this occasion. Let's start with the facility and logistics. The attendee tables were much too close together. The food stations were too near the tables. Also, the stations were not professionally set up and assembled in a haphazard and happenstance sloppy way. No decorations or signage so you had to guess what you were gulleting [sic].Honestly, I've done better with home kid's birthday party spreads. I felt bad for my friend. The roof sprung a leak and it was actually raining on the party and it's guests!!! I had to go track someone down since my buddy who threw the party was busy looking for someone to turnover the tables and remove the salad plates and fill water glasses. Poor guy couldn't enjoy the event. The facility party supervisor was no where to be found for most of the party. My friend told me their name and I went on a hunt to tell her the tables needed to be turned over and the serving stations attended to...and I was told they were busy attending to another party in the facility. Literally, my friends party-- to me-- was like a driverless car careening out of control. The timing of happy hour, salads, table bread, dinner and dessert was--in my opinion, at best--haphazard and seemingly left to rank and file staff that were way too few in number. It was a pernicious kerfuffle. Those that were there worked super hard and with tons of heart functioning sans a leader most of the night. They were heros. The facility and the manager of the event were not heros--from my vantage point, they were the opposite. The food I tried was average to poor. The beef and brócoli was rubbery/tough and soggy respectively...and disappointingly bland. Yucky. The steak station had creamed spinach and hash browns that--in my case--were milky/cold and greasy/cool respectively. The steak--at least what I tried--supermarket quality, dry, tough and tasteless. Why would they serve me shoe-leather tough well done meat? My friend (the host) tried some off my plate and clandestinely expectorated it into a napkin. My friend was so upset but said to me that he had nobody to complain to since the facility host was nowhere to be found and that, given it was mid party--there was nothing they could do anyhow. The Italian station--in my case--had pasta that was undercooked and the chicken parm was not right. The chicken--at least in my case--was not pounded, too thick, and the breading poorly adherent to it. There was too little sauce that was under spiced. It was beyond rescue--no matter how much parmigiana cheese, salt and pepper that I haplessly and generously applied. It was a sophomoric mishmash. The tiered dessert assortment plates were almost ok. Some pieces were cold and all tasted like they came from a Costco variety pack. Nothing special. In my opinion, this was bad, really bad experience for the guests that numbered well over a hundred. I have my suspicions as to why this country club handled this specific sort of event the way they did, but I'll keep it to myself. Suffice it to say--if you don't want to handle these sorts of events in a professional manner--then don't accept the job. Shame on you Apawamis (you-can't-stand-us).

I'm a tough critic, having worked in restaurants for a decade, so take this seriously: the service was impeccable and the food was perfect. The dining room is lively -- yes, it's noisy -- but that energy comes from a full house of happy diners, which tells you everything you need to know. We started with scallops: buttery, golden-crusted, and exquisitely tender. I had the veal saltimbocca -- one of my favorite dishes anywhere -- and Sergio's version is by far the best I've had. Dessert was a Basque cheesecake with a perfect balance of texture and sweetness. In five years, I have never had a bad meal or a lapse in service here. It isn't cheap, but it is absolutely worth every penny. Ignore the haters.

They also offer an enclosed atrium area, which seemed like a quieter option--but the heat was a bit too high for us, so we chose to sit inside. It was quite loud, so next time I would try the atrium area near the entrance for a more comfortable noise level. One of the highlights right away was the complimentary antipasto: a nice plate of mixed cheeses, olives, and sliced salami, along with a basket of bread. The thin, crispy salted bread was seriously addictive--so good! Paired well with our Aperol Spritz. We started by splitting the fried zucchini flower blossoms stuffed with ricotta, served over tomato sauce. You get two per order; they were good. For entrées, my friend ordered the Pollo Fino--strips of chicken breast topped with asparagus, shrimp, and mushrooms in a white wine citrus sauce. It came with four jumbo shrimp, and she said it was incredibly good. I had the Pappardelle alla Boschiola with prosciutto di Parma and green peas in a pink sauce. It was a generous portion and very tasty. I later noticed the menu included mushrooms, which didn't seem to be in my dish, but I did not catch it at the time. We finished by sharing the Napoleon dessert--my friend had raved about it. The flavor was good, and our server nicely split it for us, but the pastry layers were quite crunchy, making it challenging to eat. Overall, a fun atmosphere with tasty food. They have a big parking lot offering valet service.
