Contacted this company the week of my wedding for a breakfast and lunch catering job. Emailed from the website and was contacted within an hour or so by Bill. He was super nice and we had an order prepped and set up that day. Delivery came right on time the day off. Food was delicious. Definitely order the fried eggplant hero! It reminds me of a restaurant that should be located in a beach town, the outdoor seating in the summer time is perfect. Now to the food, they know how to work the grill making burgers, cubano's, pulled pork, steack n cheese, and everything in between. The big highlight comes in with their fresh seafood and clams. With dishes like calamari to lobster roll sandwich. Last honorable mention, plenty of salad dishes. Event Catering: I threw a backyard Surprise Party for my wife's birthday at our house and I picked their "Do It Yourself" package, as I wanted a casual atmosphere. However, I didn't want to be stuck behind the grill all day, so Bill Powell arranged to send a "grill master" to work my grill for me. Let me say, I was totally THRILLED with the outcome. First of all, as it was a surprise party, there was a tight delivery window - which they met. They brought more than enough plates, napkins, utensils, etc. for the guests. The grill master (I think his name was Sergio) was friendly, polite, professional and he did a GREAT job. Food was ready on time, he also cut and served the cake (technically outside the scope of his duties) and he cleaned the kitchen when he was done! Finally, the food was AWESOME, guests were pleased with the quality and the variety of things on the menu. Neighbors asked me for their contact info! They helped me create a great memory for my wife's 40th and I will use them again and again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. read more

I was working for Billy Powell and Ally Powel over at the Rye Golf Club when they took over the snack bat as a server, I and other employees were entering our gratuity into the POS System everyday for four months. I established relationships with the members and worked hard for my tips. I was told by Ally Powell (his wife) that to enter our tips into the system and Rye Golf club was going to cut them a check to be distributed amongs the employees. Months passed, no gratuity I was told by her daughter Shannon Powell her parents received the check and she was "going to b**** her mom out about the gratuity tonight" so I then let a month go by...nothing! I finnally had enough of the verbal abuse and no day off for two months, working from 6:30 am-7:30pm everyday end result I had quit. further, I never agreed to getting payed cash after fourty hours. To punish me, they decided not to pay me over my fourty hours. They cut a check for $350.00 and owed me another four hundred dollars plus the gratuity they owed me. I let another month go by and called Ally to ask about my money. Her response was "i thought you would take it out of the cash box, give me the dates you worked" my response " why would i do that? Thats stealing" she has all of my time cards and has all of the dates of days I worked. They are guilty of stealing peoples hard earned money. She and her husband do a horrible job serving old and expired food they certainly need to pay. Someone needs to put an end to their journey of screwing people over. Even third world countries know human rights..Im done. read more

We like the food, but the service is HORRIBLE. I used their text to order option and texted in an order. I received a confirmation that told me to pick my food up in 20 minutes. When I showed up 25 minutes later for my food, they told me that they were sorry, but they hadn't even put my order in yet because they were so busy! I have not been to Powell's in a awhile because I had moved out of town, but I was excited to go back when I came home to a place that always had wonderful food and service. I am still enjoying the food, however I have never dealt with such a rude person before. After getting home and finding out that all parts of my order were wrong, I called back in to ask them to replace it to what I had asked for. She continued to be rude and condescending to me saying that she had repeated the order to us and that we were wrong. It took me going back there and waiting for them to speak to me, for her to come up and tell me that she was going to tell me the same thing she did on the phone that they would not give me the order that I asked for and that me being there didn't change anything. As long as she works there me and my family will not be going back. Good luck with this one. And thank you to the busy chef who finally came up and took care of us. read more
