Nope nope nope.. Went in 5/31/18 6pm and asked if they waxed eyebrows the female said yes.. I sat there I felt like she was taking way extra time on one eyebrow.. when she showed it to me.. completely messed up my one eye brow took me 5 months to grow them out and completely gone It looks like a clown eyebrow and then she said "oh you wanted them natural" well yes how are eyebrows suppose to look She made the beginning of my eyebrow super thin it goes back to thick then thin again.. Finding a salon and a hairstylist is like finding your soul mate. You have to play the field a bit, get together a couple of times, weigh your options, and ultimately decide whether they're worth settling down for. It's exhausting, but once you meet the one, there's no turning back. I feel this way about Joshua and his staff at Regis. The staff was extremely professional and made me feel like I was in good hands while I get my hair colored. Joshua is always responsible for coloring my hair. He thoroughly walks me through the process each time. When it came to styling my hair, Joshua gave me a blowout with waves. I've had a few bad blowouts in my lifetime, and his is-- by far -- one of the best. I have people ask me where I have my hair done, I am happy to say Regis at Capital Mall. read more

Out of impulse, I decided to schedule for a hair appointment here at Regis Salon inside the Capital Mall. I walked in to get some quotes on some coloring for my hair, and after hearing about the wonderful prices, I decided to just schedule for an appointment. It was my first time getting my hair done at Regis, so of course I was nervous before going into my appointment. I was scheduled with the stylist, "Ryan". When I arrived for my appointment, I checked in, Ryan greeted me and gave me a brief consultation. Initially, I came in wanting highlights all over, but after my consultation with Ryan, we decided to go with a mocha balayage, with darker under layers (I think it was mocha, don't quote me on this xD!). The entire process took about 4 hours (Please note I have very long and thick hair). The entire time, Ryan was really patient, and took the time, effort, and care into the quality of my hair outcome. While I was there for 4 hours, I could tell that all of the staff working that day also did a wonderful job with every one of their clients. They took their time and did not rush with their clients hairs, which is another plus! (I do not remember their names, but the female with the short magenta pink hair and the female with the ash brown/blonde hair with glasses had great customer service!). Now, after about 4 hours of coloring, painting, toning, blow drying and what not, my hair came out absolutely stunning! He even curled it so my hair would have the volume of a "Victoria Secret" model's hair! What made my day was his comment after he was finished with my hair. "Watch out Guy Tang!" Hahahaha. Overall, I would highly recommend Ryan to anyone who is looking to have some coloring done. He does an absolutely wonderful job, and even his associates call him the "balayage king". I cannot comment on hair cuts since I did not get a hair cut during this appointment, but I am sure he does a wonderful job at that as well. I do however think that they need a front desk person to help handle the phone calls, walk-ins, and check ins. I feel like some of the stylists barely had any time to take a break because they constantly had to pick up the phone, schedule, help walk in clients while still attending to their current client(s). read more

I made an appointment early in the afternoon for a 6pm hair cut and when I arrived I was told the stylist who was also the manager , Josh, has left and that my appointment was canceled. They didn't even call to notify me, just left me hanging. The person who told me my appointment was canceled told me to go somewhere else! So I went to Master cuts, they were very kind and the girl who cut my hair really nailed it and took her time. Will I ever go back to Regis? No. I'm sure Josh can cut hair but he also is inconsiderate. read more

A few months ago my mom happened into the salon to get a wash and style while she was waiting for me to get off work and fell in love with Lashanda. My mom said she is by far the best hair stylist she's ever had and sees her every time she is in town. I've also been in Lashanda's chair and completely agree with my mom! Last time I was in I had a deep condition and a full head off highlights. I have super thick hair and was there for a while and had such a great time. She definitely knows what she is doing, my hair care out beautifully! She is super knowledgeable and so easy to talk to! This is our go to hair place and Lashanda is our go to stylist! Being fairly new to area i was not sure where to go to get a cut and ombri color. I walk at the mall and decided to check it out. Im currently growing out a short cut, so needed a shape up cut, and want a browni ombri. Lashanda listened to what i wanted. She Recommended to first do a malibu treatment because of the box color iv been using, and touch my roots and halo today. In 6 weeks ill be back to get my ombri. The health of my hair was a concern for me. She listened to me, gave a a cost on my visit before we started (i really appreciated this!) Was professional, gentle and kind. I'm so disappointed and annoyed. I went to Regis last night for a cut and color. I love the oil-slick color trend that's going on right now and I wanted to give it a try. I've never done vivid colors in my hair before and I was really excited and decided to treat myself because right now my workplace doesn't mind if you have unnatural hair colors. I came in with multiple pictures and references to the colors I wanted in my hair, I told the stylist how I wanted it cut and colored (I have an undercut style pixie with shaved sides and a longer top), with the longer hair being done with the oil slick colors and the undercut portion being dyed black, and I even gave her a website that details how the look is achieved with additional reference pictures: https://www.tricociuniversity.edu/2016/06/09/oil-slick-hair-color/. When the stylist came out with the colors she'd be using, it *looked* like she was using blue, green, purple, and fuchsia - like the colors in the reference pics I gave her. I really thought I had made myself clear, but by the time my hair was dry, it was obvious that was not the case. She used *two* shades of blue, one shade of green, and one shade of purple. With that much blue, it was just overpowering. I went it for oil-slick and came out with Seahawks colored hair. For the prices they charge, I should absolutely be walking out the door with *exactly* what I want. I should *not* have to settle. What's more, she neglected to dye the undercut portion of my hair, and by the time it was clear that she had forgotten I'd mentioned it (I thought perhaps she was going to dye the upper part of the pixie first, and then once that was done dye the undercut part), it was close to closing and I was so exasperated I just didn't bring it up. I just wanted out. One upside - she did a really good job on my hair *cut*. Love the way it looks as far as that's concerned, but do *not* go to this salon for anything but a very basic color. I'm probably just going to dye my hair back to its natural color myself and try my desired colors again with another salon. This was an awful experience and I'm going to attempt to get my money back. read more

I've been going to Regis for 20+ years. In recent years I'm usually charged $35 for a wash, cut and style. A few times I was charged $45. My hair is just below my shoulders. I haven't had a haircut in at least six months and desperately needed it. I got a great cut as usual with Regis which is why I don't go anywhere else. This time though I was charged 83$. 51$ for my haircut and two other desperate charges for a blowout and straightening. Had I know there would be extra charges for styling my hair after the cut I would have left with at hair. It's always been a part of the price in the past. My husband was charged $47 dollars for his haircut which was super basic men's cut. That's more than I was charged for my daughters long, thick curly hair the last time I brought her in. Did Regis change their prices by quite a bit? I understand that some stylists are better than others and charge more. This stylist definitely was good. Although he didn't give me the cut I wanted it still looks great but you should let people know in advance if the charges will be more than twice the usual cost. My family had to change plans for the day because of the cost. We haven't been able to do much for fun, or even get haircuts for that matter for quite some time so it was kind of a bummer. We've had a rough time lately and are living with family so to be taken advantage of and charged twice what we would regularly pay was really terrible. The stylist told me that Regis had been taken over by the company that owns Hairmasters. I'm thinking this is the problem. I'm never going to Regis again. *UPDATE* So I'm called by the stylist asking if I would like to "go over the charges". Translation: 'let me tell you why I think it was ok to charge you more than twice the regular rate'. Bad business people. You don't charge more than the regular quoted rate without informing a customer, first mistake. Second mistake, you don't tell a customer that you have to dry their hair to finish the cut and then charge them an additional $20+ to dry their hair and call it a blowout. You also don't charge another 10+ to flat iron their hair without informing them that that's an additional charge. You also don't show up late ( have another stylist inform you that it's due to traffic and then admit it was because you were up late partying) and the take almost two hours to cut someone's hair oblivious to their 18 month old crying in the background. I think we're at 6 mistakes at least the worst not taking responsibility for yourself and making recompense. I've been to boutiques in the area that don't charge that much. I went to a boutique in leavenworth last year and got the exact same haircut in half an hour and was charged $40. That lady was good. I went to a beautiful boutique here in Olympia that my mother-in-law goes to and was charged $60 for a similar haircut. Years ago I tried Gene Juarez for a inverted bob, was given tea and cookies and other pampering and was charged $50. They all included the shampoo and styling at no extra charge. Never have I been charged $83! Never, have I been charged $47 for my husbands short military style haircut. I've mainly gone to Regis for most of my life because I've found that I basically get the same thing for less money although I don't care for the mall environment. If I really want to be pampered, and I have the money, then I go somewhere else. This was clearly a situation where you decided to take advantage of someone. It's hard to believe that even the owners of Hairmasters would be be ok with this sort of behavior from one of their stylists. I saw another review where a mother complained of a similar experience with her daughter and a male stylist taking very long to cut her young daughters hair and then grossly overcharging her. Apparently this is a pattern of behavior for this salon. Statistics say that for every complaint there are at least 10 others that don't speak up. So, pamper yourself and go to a nice boutique instead and a barber for your husband with a nice hot towel wrap and shave for much less than $47. read more

Went in today to see if they could cut my 2 year old sons hair. There was no one else in the salon. After waiting about 10 mins just to be greeted, I asked about his haircut and her demeanor went from kind to annoyed as soon as I mentioned the haircut would be for my 2 year old. First thing she said was "uh well is he good when getting his hair cut?" I said yes (he sits like a champ) and then "well yeah I guess we could do it." I hesitantly said okay knowing it was clear she didn't want to do it and then I asked how much. For $25 I will go elsewhere with my business at a salon that will actually want to cut my sons hair. read more

After a less than pleasant experience at another salon six months ago, I was not all that excited for my next trim. I called Regis on a whim - I'd been there before, about a year ago, and had a good experience. This time, I got my hair cut by Rachel, and she did a great job! She was really nice and did a great job cutting my hair how I wanted it. My hair looks so much better now that I've gotten it trimmed. When she styled it, she showed me which products she uses and what they do, which was really useful. This salon is reasonably priced too, which is nice. I will go back! read more

Took my elderly mother-in-law in to have a hair washed and blow dried and Joshua charged $51.00 for a service that lasted about 20 minutes. When asked to explain charge, he stated that being a master stylist he is able to charge more. The fees with another stylist in the salon would have been $12.00 for the shampoo and blow dry and $12.00 for the deep condition that he said her hair needed. Lesson learned, I should have asked how much before the service, however who would have thought it would be such a ridiculous high price. read more

I have been to this place twice the first time I specifically told the girl that I wanted to go brown but not so dark that it looks black. So I came out of there with black hair again. Then my hubby got me a gift certificate to get my hair done and I told the lady when I made the appointment about my experience the time before and told her that I wanted to be booked with someone who knew what they were doing when I got to my appointment I met with the young girl I told her what had happened last time again so I wanted to make sure that nothing happened again we discussed that we needed to cover my gray which is number one priority and that I wanted to match the color that I had already had. My appointment was at 9 o'clock they did my hair but all the great didn't cover so then I asked her if she use the gray formula and she said no. Now if I've already told her that covering the great was number one priority you would think that she be using their gray formulation. The manager made her redo my hair and said that I want to be charge for it but when we did it the second time it came out dark they said that the only way now that they can lighten it is if I added and highlights so after sitting there since 9 o'clock in the morning I walked out of there at 4:45 already late from picking up my son and wasted 200. I will never go here again. If I would've had time to argue with them I would have but I was already late picking up my kid because they had me sitting there for so long. read more

My sister and I took our older sister, 73, to Regis for a cut and style for her birthday. We don't live in Olympia (my older sister does), so we simply picked a place that was open, and boy, did we luck out! My sister hadn't had her hair cut by a stylist in almost 30 years -- prefers to do it herself, and it showed. We got a fabulous young woman named Emily, who not only entertained my sister, but gave her a really good cut and shaped her hair beautifully. My sister has very curly hair, which can't be easy to cut, but Emily did a fabulous job. Highly recommended! read more

I used to go here all the time when Tiffany still worked here but, the place has really gone down hill. I booked an appointment with someone I think her name was Vickie but I'm not sure as no one ever told me her name and she never introduced herself to me, but she was very pregnant. I came in for a color and cut. She started the color and insisted I only needed my roots done even though I told her I hadn't died my hair in over 3 months, so now my hair is definitely 2 different shades, then as I'm waiting for the color to set, she says she has to leave and passes me off to another stylist who has no idea what we are doing with my hair. She rinses out the color, or so I thought, but it's 2 days later and I'm still trying to get the dye out of my hair, if I scratch my head my nails turn black and my scalp is itchy and irritated, she did not rinse all the dye out at the salon. I then try to explain the hair cut I want and during this time a new customer comes in and she is the only stylist there so she informs the women it will be about 15 minutes and she will be done with me, but she hasn't even started cutting my hair yet. She then rushes through my hair cut and barely dries my hair and has me pay. Worse experience at a salon ever!! When she was drying my hair it felt like she had never picked up a brush and hair dryer in her life and was just patting my head with hair brush as she blew hot air at my head. My hair looked like absolute crap when I left! When I was trying to explain to her to that I needed to thin out some of the thickness in my hair it was like she had no idea how do to that, she looked like a deer in caught in headlights!
