Let's talk about the customer service, I was greeted as soon as I walked in. The food selection is pretty cooked and on display. (Makes for easy ordering process). The food seems to be authentic. The beef patty was nice and flaky with a nice ratio of beef. The jerk chicken delicious. But that's about all. The side dishes (cabbage and spinach) were bland and could use some spices (salt, pepper, seasoning). I didn't like the fact you got 2 pieces of chicken for the jerk dinner $13plus . Only a leg and thigh. That's not fulfilling or a good price. I think the dinner portion should be bigger and then maybe you can increase the cost.

I ended up ordering curry chicken with rice & peas and plantains. Beverage of choice was Jamaican pineapple & ginger soda. The meat was falling off the bone and flavorful. Sides were great but what made this an even better food experience was my convo with Karen as she was preparing my food. Such a pleasant lady who I can tell puts love in her cooking. Whenever I'm back on that side of town, I'll be sure to be back to Reid's Jerk Shack. One of the best on Eastern Blvd.

Serving a wide range of traditional Jamaican cuisine and catering mainly to the courthouse lunch pack, the shop is run by a really friendly Jamaican lady that will walk you through the menu and show you the wares. I asked for some spicy noise to pound back the cold Bmore winds. She recommended the goat curry platter ($8.50) which came on a bed of red beans and rice with a side of steamed cabbage and a few slices of fried plantain. The goat curry was delicious. Tender hunks of goat meat served on the bone were well flavored but not spicy at all. The sauce was great and well-textured but sadly, the red beans and rice were disappointingly flavorless. It left me trying to ration my bites with sauce and meat to flavor all the rice. The fried plantains on the other hand were the best I've ever had. Slightly gummy from caramelization on the outside, tender and smooth inside, they beat any weak bananas I ate on Spanish III field trips or even in Costa Rica. I definately will give this place another go, the jerk chicken looked ridiculous. Give this place a shot, just make sure your beans and rice get sauced up good and try 'em plaintains.

The food was so bad...mushy rice and peas, the callaloo was baby food, and the baked chicken was well coated in the store bought sauce. I also sat and waited an extra 30 minutes for beef patties which never came. Adding insult to flavor injury, this place is a hip hop nightclub! Sat there for over an hour and nothing came on but old school hip hop. I asked for my money back and the lady said "I don't know about island food but that's what trini greens look like." I hate bashing minority businesses but this place is disrespectful. Hopefully they improve drastically in order to survive but, for right now, never come here for food. Sorry...and not sorry.

Caribbean Dynasty Restaurant & Lounge - Baltimore…read more I stopped by Caribbean Dynasty for a lunchtime bite, and the owner was pleasant. The restaurant is easy to find, with close-by paid parking. I tried the sample plate with curry chicken, white rice, and cabbage. The curry chicken was flavorful and tender -- truly delicious! The cabbage was seasoned just right, adding that authentic Caribbean touch. I was a little surprised to receive white rice instead of rice & peas (which I usually expect with Caribbean dishes), so that was a little disappointing. I was expecting $18 value platter but received a ($15) value platter. It appears it may come alive at night -- with a DJ, happy hour specials, and a lounge vibe. Overall, Caribbean Dynasty offers great flavors, friendly service for a grab a go lunch order .

Sasha Fierce, Cecil, and Herb were phenomenal and made the entire experience even better. As a fellow Jamaican, finding authentic food that truly tastes like home can feel like finding a diamond in the rough, and Konoko delivered. I had the oxtails with rice and peas, steamed cabbage, and sweet plantains, and every bite was incredible. My friend had the curry shrimp with rice, and the ginger beer cocktail was refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal. It was 100% worth the trip from Virginia Beach, and we will absolutely be back. A true hidden gem.

He annoyed the hell outta me about the place with Good Music, black people , and those "good noodles". So I drove him up here and he made us lose our first table by changing his mind to order take out. (help me ) Anyways , we leave out and the door man dressed in all black says "Hey , are you leaving?". I told him my friend expected an upbeat experience and he assured us that the DJ was about to start playing shortly. So , we go back inside and we're taken upstairs to another table within 5 min. I never dined upstairs , I thought it was strictly for private parties. Anyways, our "flight attendant " introduced herself and welcomed us aboard a flight to Jamaica This Saturday night was really busy. Lots of birthdays and dinners. I usually come on Weekdays and sit at the bar. I ordered from the Likkle Plates menu with Signature Jerk Wings $17 and a side of cabbage $6. I wasn't that hungry... I been working out ‍. The dining room and bar have Caribbean flare and the music helps too. I ordered the conch fritters, ackee & salt fish with plantains and cabbage medley. Everything was delicious. Extremely Disappointing Experience -- Wrong Order, No Accountability…read more I've ordered takeout from Judy's Island Grill before and decided to dine in this time with a friend who was trying to support me after a very stressful and traumatic week. She took me out to help ease my anxiety, and we ended up having a very deep and intense conversation throughout the meal. Unfortunately, that experience was overshadowed by what happened with the food and service. We were seated at a dirty table, which we had to ask to be cleaned. Not a great start, but fine -- things happen. I ordered the brown stew salmon. When our food arrived, the server stood there and asked, "Who ordered the jerk salmon?" I immediately said that I did not order jerk -- I ordered brown stew salmon. She responded "OK" and placed the dish in front of me. At that point, I assumed it may have just been a slip of her tongue. The dish didn't overly look like traditional jerk (it wasn't dark or blackened), so I gave it the benefit of the doubt. After just a few bites, my mouth was on fire. It was spicy. I began to wonder if they made their brown stew salmon with a little bit more of a kick than I was used to. Given everything I had going on that day and the nature of the sensitive conversation I was having with my friend, I didn't want to interrupt the moment or make a big issue about the food, so I tried to push through, even though I had to keep drinking water between bites. When the server later came around to check on us, I mentioned that the dish was very spicy and that I suspected it might actually be jerk. The explanation I received was honestly unbelievable!!! The server said to us *The (Hispanic looking) woman who took your order is the manager/owner, and she doesn't know the difference between the two dishes. (The server said this to us!!) She continued: * There is only one button for both jerk salmon and brown stew salmon. Because of that, she (the owner/manager) was supposed to go to the back and explain to the chef that I wanted brown stew instead of jerk -- but she clearly did not do that. Even more concerning, the server admitted she suspected the dish might be wrong when she brought it out -- and served it anyway. Let that sink in. I literally said at the table that I did not order jerk salmon -- and it was still placed in front of me and left there. She did not check with the Chef what order he received. What if I had a food sensitivity or allergy?!????? This is not just poor service -- it's careless. Even more disappointing: No apology. No accountability. No attempt to make it right. Just a full bill as if nothing happened. A manager should absolutely know the difference between two completely different dishes!! This experience left me feeling frustrated, dismissed, and honestly a bit disgusted. Something has clearly changed here, and not for the better. Proceed with caution. A mistake is one thing -- how it's handled is everything. Being served the wrong dish is frustrating -- being told it was known and ignored is unacceptable.
