Soon to arrive is Hollywood Bowling too! There's loads of choice here and it's just a short walk away from the main high street. I hear there are plans to connect this eventually and that will definitely make the place more accessible. There's plenty of parking nearby and it's free after 20:00 hours too!

The White Company sell absolutely beautiful things, and this store is no exception. They sell a…read moregood range of clothing, childrenswear, bathroom and bedroom products and more, and almost everything is white (or at least neutral)! It's like a breath of fresh air when you walk in, although it can be worrying if you have sticky fingered children in tow. The staff are always friendly and there's a lovely welcoming atmosphere. I can never resist popping in for a browse on my way past. The window displays are stunning, especially over Christmas when they were lit with tiny fairy lights. A welcome addition to Cheltenham centre.

Really difficult to pay! A frustrating visit, one of the…read moreitems we tried to pay for was price marked lower than the price it scanned at. Very few staff members around to help with problems. We scanned our items at the self service then had to wait for the one advisor to finish serving an elderly lady who needed full attention to pay for her items. Once the staff member was available to us, she was unable to adjust the price so we had to queue for a 3rd time at the refund point where the advisor had a long queue of other frustrated customers. I think your regular M&S customer expects as a bare minimum to have staff members available to process your sale.

It's not a bad-sized store, and there was a really good selection of ladieswear. Everyone knows M&SI don't need to tell you what they sell! Decent sale items when I was there though, I love January! Didn't use the cafe but it looked pleasant enough, located upstairs but there are lifts so you don't have to battle with the escalators and your buggy. Nothing to set the earth alight, but a good solid traditional store.

Let me explain why…read more I used to visit when I was home on leave from the Forces but on one occasion I was prevented from entering by a very pompous and unpleasant Doorman. I'd smiled at him and said 'Good morning', as I always did - perhaps this one was new, as I didn't recognize him. He simply looked down his nose at me as though I'd made a bad smell and stepped in front of me as I was about to enter. I asked him what was wrong and, rather than replying, he just gave me the most disdainful stare. I had no idea what the problem was. I wasn't in my Sunday Best but I was certainly presentable - clean clothes, clean shaven, smart hair cut as you'd expect from a military type. He looked old enough to have done National Service himself. I politely asked him again what the problem was and again he said nothing, just continuing to look at me with utter contempt. When I wrote to Store Management, I received no reply. I was utterly disgusted and can only put it down to snobbery.

It's always worth a visit when you're in town because their stock changes frequently and it's very easy to find your basket filling with bargains. HOWEVER..the shop premises is just too small. Pound shops are becoming increasingly popular, and the shelves are stacked high, with any vaguely empty space being crammed with more and more tempting produce. It can be a nightmare to navigate around the shop when it's busy, especially with a pushchair in tow, and to be honest it doesn't even have to get that busy to be awkward. I think Poundland would do well to take over one of the larger, closed-down shops on the high street.
