This is really a hub for creativity, whether it is for artists, businesses or events. No matter your venture, you will be welcomed here and looked after. The crew at Tenth & Gibson went out of their way to help me out with my event. No matter my enquiry, they found a way to assist and support what I needed. What I do love about this space is that it is well priced, open, well sized, funky, colourful and you can pretty much work the space you want it. There is nothing to navigate around; and there is great acoustics and lighting. There is some pretty cool street art on the walls and the decor is really funky and eclectic. So, you don't really need to do much to dress up the room. It already looks really great. The other bonus is it is just outside of the CBD and there is free street parking! Your guests will love that! If you need it, you can make great use out of the photography backdrop. You can project onto it or use it for your own photography for your event. It was a brilliant backdrop to my photos of guests. If you do have a catered event, there is a space to the side of the main Venue room you can use with easy street access. Speak to the staff about using this. I was absolutely delighted to have used Tenth & Gibson for an event. It is by far one of my favourite venues in Adelaide and I recommend it to anyone looking for a space for large or small events.

It was quiet for a Wednesday lunch with only a few tables. I noticed there was no salt and pepper on the table, and this was brought to us. White salt flakes in a little dish and pepper in a small grinder. Funnily enough I didn't use either on my meal. We started with a plate of dips, hommous, pumpkin and I can't remember the third, it was presented with two slices of crusty bread and little crispy biscuits. The entrees came out, and I was happy to see a beautifully presented pork belly and an artfully placed carrot. My only criticism (if you could call it that) was the crackling was completely white and it would have been nice to have some colour. I think I'm being picky. The arancini balls proved quite popular at our table. Mains were served and the lamb wasn't how I thought it would be presented as my brain was thinking lamb with the bone. Those that chose ribs received a finger bowl. The lamb was delicious, and the acidic balance was perfect. Dessert was a shared banana caramel pie (one person had to leave so we had hers), and washed it down with an affogato. We did request frangelico with our affogato and oddly they had run out, so I had mine with baileys. Tia Maria might have been the better second choice. The serving was pleasing with lots of coffee beans spread on the plate. Utopia is known for their afternoon teas of scones and jam, and as a wedding/function centre with the beautiful waterfall surrounds. The water was cascading down the hill and many joggers went passed our window after their long hike. I will most definitely be back. On a side note, an entree, main and dessert from a lovely selection is only $55 pp.

Two magnificent open fires, cosy lounges as well as big tables for groups, makes it versatile for any situation and perfect for a cold winter's night. They have a few gourmet pies on the menu, including chicken korma and cheese kransky and what I thought was a massive vat of soup. Turns out it was spiced rum! My kind of soup. The service is attentive and very friendly. There are only 2 red wines available by the glass, so it's not an extensive wine selection, but they are very nice wines, so I'm not complaining! I haven't seen a band here yet, but I look forward to that treat soon. It looks like it would be a magnificent place in summer sitting outside under the fairy lights, so I look forward to that too. Meanwhile, I'm very happy for it to be winter as I can't get enough of those gorgeous open fires!

The main area I front of the stage is sunken, so plenty of room for dancing, or for the people around the edge to See over. An ample size stage for bands and choirs, and a huge greenroom area upstairs, that doesn't have you clambering over audience and ruining any costuming surprises. The inhouse PA is a pretty sweet inhouse system. A roof mounted projector makes for showing your slides and videos while you take up all the stage without making all the shadows too! Out in the bar side, the cracking fire and comfy couches while you knock back one of the beers from the local selection and munch down on some tasty snacks, and maybe if you're in for a bit of nostalgia, play a round or three on the pinball machine.

The outside of the Venue does not look like much when walking past, but when it opens up you will find a room filled with graffiti by well known street artists in Adelaide. So rad! There does not seem to be any limits with types of events you can run here. There are a couple of supporting beams in the space, so if you need it to be completely open this might not be for you. You can place staging in a couple of different spots. There seemed to be good access to power. There were some ceiling truss beams set up above the front of the stage with lighting. Not sure if that was in house, I presume that it is. I watched a DJ set there and the acoustics were good considering the placement of the stage being so close to the open entry. They had a couple of mobile bars set up that you could hire. Also good to note that there was decent access to facilities out the back and a backstage area for bands/performers. Another perk was the booths set up on the side of the venue. This is a great edition if you are running a gig here. Love booths. You can hire a bunch of furniture here as well, they are all quite well priced. And considering that you will not have to pay for delivery this is your best option. My thoughts are that you could run anything from a music show to a wedding here, depending on your taste. Unless the graffiti walls don't suit your event style. You could cover them with drapes they have for hire. Not the cheapest, but it's an option. If you are looking at including food at your event, they have a range of set menu options, which is great! Another surprise is the hire of a Food Truck on the packages. That is pretty cool!

Admittedly, this is a fact I can't be sure of. I haven't been everywhere else in the world, y'see. I CAN, however, tell you that I DID try a veritable array of rum, and all of it was fine. Bear in mind, I've always been a vodka man. All other spirits are second-rate to me. (Except the green fairy, but I don't really consider THAT a spirit. It's more a monster unto itself.) But this is some good rum. The decor is great, and not at all cheap or tacky (as you'd expect from a members club), and the music complements the decorating perfectly. Though I'm not typically a fan of rum, if you've friends who love the stuff, bring them here (or be dragged along), and you'll have a gay old time.
