I've seen a couple of movies here now and both times it was a wonderful experience. There's nothing I love more than going to see a movie alone and regal cinema is a perfect spot for that in Bozeman. It's never overly crowded, employees are helpful and friendly and the theatres are clean. There are not a lot of frills; no reclining heated seats or anything like that, but the seats are very comfortable. You do have to go through the concessions to get to your theatre which can get a little crowded, but smart marketing move. I'd highly recommend this theater for your next movie night! read more

We enjoyed our visit here. Our theaters at home do not have such a long set of ads and previews with the lights on. I timed it and it was a full 23 minutes after the published start time before the movie started. The theatre was comfortable. The popcorn was not very tasty. The sizes here are huge. First of all the lady at the front didn't give us 3D glasses, had to go back to the front to get them. The movie was crappy, the 3D projectors were not lined up correctly, then the price. The price was outrageous! Further experience: Once inside the theater, #9, people tried to take a picture with me in it so I held my phone in front of my face, so they repositioned themselves to take a photo with my children in the background. Like who does that? Creeps do! They took the photo, I had to ask them to crop it to show only them. They got upset because I pointed out it's about them not the people in the background/ aka my children who are underage. I even told them they are underage, I also told them I do NOT consent to my children being photographed. The fact adults purposefully took a photo of children then got mad I asked them to remove/crop the image. Beware predators stock the theater. We came here to see The Marvels. We bought tickets beforehand and not sure when we came in, if anyone checks for tickets but it seemed like....that wasn't a thing. I didn't buy the tickets but I would think that every seat is preselected like other theaters these days. The line for concession was kind of insane. Not sure but it was definitely long. So if you do want popcorn or other goods, make sure you add some time before your show time as you may be stuck in line. Other than that, it's your typical small movie theater. Definitely dated and feels like it's had better days. But of course, if you want to see a movie in person, it's an okay option. read more

I bought M&Ms from this kid named Roots and he gave me a really nice compliment about my Superbad shirt, and he really made my day. I was having a rough time that day, but this kid who was working the food office took the time to cheer me up. I think he noticed I was sad, and he wanted to do something about it. He was a very fast worker and very good at his job, but he took the time to slow down. I started balding recently, which is hard as a woman, so I appreciate how Regal Theater trains its employees to be very kind, which makes going to public spaces like the theater much more enjoyable. I had purchased an unlimited movie plan 28 monthly. I had ebiked to the theatre and they made me open my backpack and searched it . Yes I had a helmet and snow pants on because it's winter now but there was no need to make me open my bag and go though it and mind you I'm of Asian decent Filipino and of color . As I then came back to asked if I can change seat as they let in familys with bags and purse's. They didn't stop a single person besides me and not even search any of these older women that would most likely have wine and booze. They found nothing in my bag and I was stereotyped . They searched nobody else's bags and purses as I observed and most likely they will continue to treat me differently as a person of color in Bozeman Montana. The manager said it was to check for weapons and alcohol. And as I picked and to watch the first movie showing of the day . They made me open my own backpack . Like I shudve made them open it. On July 3rd my wife and I went to a movie. We bought the refillable popcorn and soda containers that are refillable at a reduced rate for the remainder of the year. On July 20th we went to see another movie, bringing our containers to purchase at the reduced rate. When we went to purchase the treats we were told those containers were for the date purchased along with a free refill that day. On our original purchase my wife and I both asked multiple times to confirm that the containers we were buying would be good for the remainder of the year at the reduced rate. The employee assured every time that the containers we purchased would allow us the reduced rate for popcorn and soda through December 31, 2024. Needless to say we were very disappointed with the Regal supervisor who would not honor our original purchase since clearly they had not properly trained their employee. There was no apology, just an expectation for us to open up our wallets to dish out more cash on the already pricey treats. Apparently the customer is always wrong at Regal! read more

At the last movie I went to see the arm rest was broken and the fabric was ripped off. The seats are worn down and gross. There was trash all over the ground level seating area (before the movie), and throw up in the row behind me. I'm not one to write bad reviews... but at these prices and being the only theater in town I would recommend more attention to the up keep. read more

This is the only movie theater in town these days (not counting the Procrastinator). The Ellen theater (where I saw pretty much every blockbuster of the later 1980's and early 1990's) is now a playhouse. The Rialto theater (home of a blurry picture, murky sound, uncomfortable seating, and no parking) has been closed for years. The Campus Square 8 theater became the campus Town and Country Food & Grocery. So, the Gallatin Valley Mall Cinemas (currently Hollywood Theater branded) is the only game around. The staff here seem friendly. They have the standard pricing (with minor student discount). They have the overpriced popcorn, drinks, and snacks. They also have stadium seating with acceptable picture quality and sound. Unfortunately, they also seem to have more than their fair share of young parents who apparently are raising "free range" children . . . and are loathe to do anything so damaging to their psyches as to tell them to sit down and be quiet. Honestly folks, this is not your living room, people here paid good money to watch a movie. Please tell little Aiden and darling Isabella that they are going to a place where they need to sit still, be quiet, and watch the film. read more

SEVERELY UNDERLIT SCREENS! This theater is the only game in town in Bozeman, and to be honest (underlit and dim presentation notwithstanding), it's a very decent theater. For a town of our size, I'm glad that we have a theater with stadium seating and a variety of movies playing on the screens. You're not going to find your indie and art house movies here, but hey. This ain't a major metropolitan city. My chief complaint is the presentation. At a recent screening of a 2D digital presentation of Star Trek Beyond, I could barely see details during darker scenes, and bright scenes were obviously underlit and lacking in clarity. I don't know if this theater is running their bulbs past their expected life, using undersized bulbs, limiting their amperage, forgetting to remove polarizing filters, or a combination of the above. Either way, the picture was DIM! Very disappointing, considering that the theater itself is quite nice. read more

If Bozeman got any other theatre, the Regal Cinema would be out of business within a month. The lobby is constantly filthy - covered in grease, popcorn, and shoe prints. The staff is not friendly, they all look like they are living in hell and cannot wait to leave. Additionally, the theatre is completely understaffed - at prime theatre times they may only have up to three people working (one to sell tickets, one to take tickets, and one to man concessions). On my first theatre visit (at 1pm) there were 27 people in line and only one person was on staff, taking control of both selling tickets and attempting to sell concessions. It is a completely unorganized mess full of people who do not care. Plan to get to the theatre half an hour early because it will always take around 20 minutes to get through line. Lastly, the popcorn is dreadful, the butter will make you feel ill, the seats are extremely uncomfortable and often sticky, and the prices are outrageous. If this weren't the only theatre in town, I would advise you to stay away. read more

I don't get the complaints about ticket prices. This is the cheapest movie theater I've been to in years! In LA, Boston and Phoenix, most tickets are about $12-$14 now. The stadium seating is nice, the lobby was clean, the service was great, that fireplace in the lobby is beautiful, the sound and picture quality was decent and the seats were comfortable with plenty of leg room. Yes the concession stand "food" is overpriced but that's everywhere! I didn't like that they asked my daughter's age for a Rated R but whatever. I'm just glad such a small place has a decent theatre with new movies playing! I will be back. read more

This place is just terrible. When you get into a movie that is not 3D, turn around and look at the projector window. If you see a double image, that means there is a 3D lens and filter on the projector and you are not getting your money's worth! The image is slightly blurry and vignettes on the sides. They do this so they don't have to send someone up there to change lenses when they go from a 3D to a 2D movie. If this happens to you go complain. If they don't fix it, you have the right to ask for a refund ticket and they will have to give you one. Instead of patronizing this horrible excuse of a theater, go see a Bozeman Film Society movie at The Ellen or The Rialto. Or rent a movie from Movie Lovers! You can have a better cinematic experience in your own living room. read more

This theater was by far the worst movie experience I have ever witnessed. From a delayed start time from bickering over reserved seating, more previews being delayed, and then a pause during the movie showing. Unacceptable. I will never be returning to this theater. read more

The staff is great and so helpful! Love the assigned seating...hate going to a movie, paying the expense of movie an popcorn etc. and then get stuck in the front row. They make you buy reserved seats and as a result through the entire previews of the movie people around us were arguing over seats.

After spending time in different states, I frequent theaters weekly to see shows. That was until I moved back to Bozeman. The Regal Theater is a over priced racket with prices at $11 a person. The real problem is they don't have competition to keep them in check, so they charge what they want. It's cheaper to drive to Livingston to see the same show for $5. read more

Theater recently went to assigned seating. When 3 customers showed up after the movie start time , usher stopped the movie, turned on the house lights and had everyone get out their tickets and find their assigned seats. For 3 people that arrived late she disrupted the entire theater and pissed off the majority of us ready to see our movie. I will consider alternate options next time. Assigned seating is asinine as in no way like buying a plane ticket as she preached to the audience. read more

Very poor customer service from the MANAGER she was so rude to me when I tried to take my two twelve year olds to a rated R movie. Questioning me if my children were mine! Very upsetting. Went to a matinee with my daughter a few days ago. The place was not busy at all so we got in line for snacks. 4 young people stood behind the counter chatting and laughing with each other as they saw us waiting to be served. Finally a co-worker who was helping another customer, looked surprised no one was helping us. She motioned for the others to start working but they stood there doing nothing so she finally stepped up for us. She rolled her eyes and said to us, "I guess they were too busy to wrork". She helped us while those 4 lazy kids stood around laughing and doing NOTHING!!! Horrible service! We bought $30 in snacks but I almost walked out instead. $50 for 2 people to get tickets and snacks when someone finally decides to wait on you, uncomfortable seats and super poor service ..... I will make the drive to Helena from here on out where the seats recline and the people are quick and friendly to serve up your snacks! read more

I've been to this theater multiple times to see R rated movies and have never once been asked to see an ID. I recently went to see Deadpool with a friend for the 5th time and was turned away because I did not have my ID. My friend had hers with her. So how is that a child can see an R rated movie with a legal adult. But another adult cannot go see the same movie if the other adult they are with can prove their age.... read more

Christmas Day. Reserved three seats through fandango. Showed up 15minutes before show. Found a seat and waited 45 minutes before an employee came and apologized for the delay due to technical difficulties...should start shortly. Waited another 15 minutes then left without seeing the movie. Received a refund without apology, no coupon for a free bag of popcorn and I'm out the reservation fee. Today was a disaster!!! I went to go see "It" with my sister today who is 24 years old. We go up to the cashier named Zachary. My sister buys her tickets no problem. I try getting my student ticket and he asks for my student ID. To which then I showed him my high school ID, then he asks for a drivers license. I am under the age of 17 and dont have my drivers license yet so my sister tells him that she is with me. To which he responds "you have to be a parent or guardian of her to see this movie not a sibling." Now I have seen A LOT of rated R movies with my sister in the past. To now tell me that she can't take me into a movie because she is not legally in charge of me is BS. He also did not offer my sister a refund after she bought the tickets and we had waited in a very long line. Terrible employees. According to the Regal Admittance Procedures, as stated on their official website says "a person must only be 21 to purchase multiple tickets without providing additional photo ID for additional tickets." You can't just change your own company's rules because of one stupid movie. It's too bad this is the only theatre in town. This situation makes me very upset and disheartened. read more

I live in Butte and will ALWAYS travel the 175 mile round trip to Regal Cinemas in Bozeman to catch a movie. The rocker loungers are very comfortable and the tiers are set high enough that you never have somebodys head obstructing the picture. The electronic closed captioning glasses which they supply free of charge are a godsend as I am very nearly deaf. The concessions are good and the establishment is kept very clean. I am used to the large theater complexes that are found in large cities in California and this is a close approximation of the experience that they offer. read more
