Contacted them to have our dryer duct cleaned because it's a long run and I can't easily clean it. they arrived on time and did a good job with cleaning it. However, their worker was about the pushiest at upselling us as I have ever experienced. He kept going on and on about inspecting and cleaning the HVAC ducts. He wouldn't take no for an answer over and over again. I explained that it was already taken care of in the last year and that we were NOT interested. I had found this Groupon and was super excited. It was $79 to have a Residential Air Duct and Dryer Vent Cleaning with Full System Inspection. It included air duct cleaning with unlimited supply vents, one return vent, organic deodorizer, up to 2 bathroom exhaust-vent cleanings, dryer vent cleaning and a full system inspection. Upon arrival, Julius and Noam went through my house to go through the process. Julius then informed me that I needed the stage 2 cleaning, because it looked like they had not had my air duct system completely cleaned for 5+ years. He stated that it would be $599 on top of my Groupon price of $79, but due to my financial constraints they would be able to do $399. I live in a townhouse that is less than 2000 sqft. As a first time home owner, it can be super stressful when all these house expenses start to pile up. Julius made me feel at ease for the most part, he was kind enough to lower the price for me a little more. I still think it is a lot for an air duct cleaning, but I understand that air quality in a home is very important. I wanted it to have a fresh new smell. I received a coupon in the mail for 2 types of duct cleaning procedures. One was for approximately $45 for duct cleaning and another for approximately $144. The more expensive cleaning offering additional cleaning of laundry dryer and bathroom exhaust and sanitizing. The technician explained to me that those prices were only for routine cleaning under a contract supplied by Regal Duct Cleaning, Inc. These details are not mentioned on the coupon, Then he proceeded to explain all the other add on features and additional sanitizing that would expand the price of his service that would take my coupon pricing to approximately $1,000.00. this is by far a perfect example of the OLD BAIT AND SWITCH game that is so well used in this type of service industries. At the end of his exploded cost of $629 estimate I ask him about the 10% Military discount offer printed on the coupon, and was then told it was included in the %10 coupon quote. This I could not wrap my head around because I mentioned the Military discount after his so called estimate that was far above the coupon pricing. These guys (Julius and Sam) are fast, smooth talkers and firm tactical con artist. Then came the final billing scam of credit card payment.
