I came here last year and loved it! This year, I got a mug and shirt with my coffee. The espresso blend was pretty good. Id give it a 7/10. It was a bit chalky with the earthy taste. I had the drip too and it was a mix of Central America and Ethiopia. Definitely more CA than Ethiopia. Id prefer the other way around, but it was still smooth. Id say 7/10 for the drip too. The mission alone adds 2-3 stars and above average coffee makes this a 5 stat spot. Not the best coffee in Atlanta, but the most interesting baristas and best mission of any coffee shop in the area. read more

Every Wednesday and Friday as I am coming home I always see this truck parked at the Clarkston Quality Motors. I never actually drop in to check it out until one of my acquainted kept posting about it on her Facebook so I decided to come in the next time I see it. Personally for me I like to know what the business is all about so I did a little research about this random truck in a small town like Clarkston (I say random because food truck doesn't exactly pop into ones mind when they think of a town like mine). Anyhow it turn out to be a nonprofit business and it is set in Clarkston because it want to help the town and people in the area. For that particular mission I will give it a 5 stars and more! As for the drinks so far I like the cappuccino best with soy milk. The chai tea didn't have a strong enough flavor for me. Overall a nice little business in Clarkston. Btw, they now have indoor seating so grab a friend and head down !!! read more

Sum it up this way: must visit. Parking is easy and kind of funny, I've parked in different positions and directions each time depending on the flow of the day haha. Love the mission of the place. Definitely echoing some other Yelpers on the unpretentious vibe. It's easy and breezy; you order your drink and find a place to sit either outside or inside. We had a clinical article discussion on one of their long tables one afternoon, and that was nice--a fan helped cool down the summer heat without an overpowering AC. Great for people who usually get cold easily. They have wifi I believe. I came early morning once and there were young professionals on their laptops; we came once and met some older refugee women with stories to share. You never know who you might meet at this spot but you can always count on a flavorful chai latte. There's some music playing inside the venue at times but it's generally not crowded and great for studying. Gotta try their coffee but the chai latte has been so good I haven't felt compelled to switch yet :) read more

I went here on Friday and this is the cutest place in Decatur. First of all, what they're doing here is amazing. Any business that supports refugees gets an A+ in my book. But even if I ignore this key detail, this place is an all-star because the atmosphere is open and very cute. There's lots of space and it's very comfortable. Plus the coffee is really good, and from what I can tell, the food items are fabulous too (I'll order something next time I go). And the service is (obviously) excellent. I like the concept and atmosphere, but unfortunately not a fan of the coffee. Maybe it's a different kind of brew than I'm used to. It tastes burnt. I couldn't take more than a couple of sips, it was so bitter and I am a daily coffee drinker and I have tried all kinds of coffee. I have tried it a few times and it is always the same and it's expensive. $2.25 for a small and each time I felt like I wasted my money. read more

I'm so incredibly in love with this place. Everything about it. The staff is amazing and the friendliest of any coffee shop I've been to. Sometimes places like this will have decent coffee at best, but their coffee is high quality (and this is coming from a coffee snob). It's over an hour drive for me, but I make the trip when I can because the atmosphere is so worth it. I wish there was one closer! I'd be there every day! But most of all, I love their mission. I had just flown in on an early flight for a work trip and I. Needed. Coffee. I saw signs for everyone's favorite mermaid (blech), but crossed my fingers as I whipped out my phone and pulled up Yelp to show me nearby options. There was Refuge, and I bee-lined over a couple lanes and just made its exit in time. I got an iced mocha, which I am delighted to say had just the barest hint of sweet. (So hard to find!) I also tried a Morning Bun, which was flaky, fresh, and again, not overly sweet. Just don't go it alone, it's huge! Where do I begin? I'll start off by saying this place/ truck is a MUST VISIT!! A true gem of Clarkston that provides a great glimpse of the beauty and richness of a densely multicultural town. My favorite item on the menu is their Morning Bun, or as I refer to it the king of ALL the breakfast pastries-in my book at least. Seriously. I ask for mine to be warmed up so I can enjoy it in it's prime. It's one of those sweets where once you've had it you won't want to try anything else on the menu. And I haven't. We love Refuge! It's our favorite coffee spot in the city, which is saying a lot because there seems to be a coffee shop on every corner these days. Their coffee is so good, and everyone who works there is so nice...especially Ali. He's our buddy, it seems like everyone else also just loves him. Frankly it's sub par; it's a brand I have never heard of that is exotic and earthy but not enjoyable at all. Both the cappuccino and their regular roast are unappetizing.
