Very pleased with the massage. It is a little confusing to pay before the service that hasn't been rendered yet. All in all I get it, I am sure people have walked out without paying or didn't speak up to tell the massage therapist how they like their massage, so we all suffer but hey that's life! My overall experience was fairly underwhelming. I came here a few weeks ago with my wife, being first timers at this location. Right off the bat, I was a little disappointed that we weren't greeted with anything more than a "You have an appointment? Ok. That will be $$." No welcome. No questioning on problem areas. No water at the end of the massage. Perhaps I'm being melodramatic, but by contrast all other massage parlors/spas (I've been to) do this so I assumed this was an industry standard. In any case, we had our massage and the masseurs were also average. They helped get some knots out, but they also didn't ask if the pressure was ok. We had asked for Hot Stones, and while we got what we asked for, both masseurs spent two minutes EACH to leave the room to go warm it up - so we're just sitting in the room waiting for them. Hot stones were also too hot so it burned my back a bit. My suggestion is to heat the stones in anticipation of your patrons so there's no lengthy lapse in massage time. I can also echo other reviews when they say the ambiance can get interrupted by other "noises" in the room/hallway. All in all, if you're looking for a reasonably priced massage that's quick and to the point, you could consider this establishment. Just keep in mind that standards will need to be lowered if my experience is in any way indicative of their normal operation. read more

I love this place. The reflexology is spot on and they don't keep working the same foot area like other locations do, they actually move around. I have skipped on the chair massage and chosen to extend the reflexology and I appreciate their willingness to accommodate. Lots of parking and they answer the phone. read more

I was at Livermore after work and passed by this spa, and I was tired, so I gave it a chance. I m glad I did. The entrance was welcoming and relaxing, and the staff who greeted me was very friendly. The massage is good, at least for me. Everyone is different, so I suggest that if you get a massage from refresh spa, be sure to let your masseur know how much pressure you like. Spent a lot of time squeezing my pinky toe. My husband and I got a 60-Minute Couples Massage + Hot Stone. I've had quite a few massages in my life, so I think I'm somewhat familiar of the process/what to expect. But I have to say that this was easily the WORST massage I've ever experienced. There were honestly several times where I wanted to get up and end the session, but I was being so hopeful! Where to even begin... - You're asked to pay for the massage and TIP the minute you walk in ($25 was the minimum tip option) - No greeting or introduction (no conversation on problem areas, pressure level, medical conditions, etc.) I had the older woman masseur - - Rushing/scrambling - NOT a massage - she mostly just applied lotion and pressed down on my body - She was lost - massaged my collar bones, squeezed each of my toes, flicked my chin, wrapped my head in a wet towel, ignored stress bubbles, and got on my table several times but didn't do anything (felt as if her actions didn't have any purpose) - When I was faced up, she put her arms under my back to lift me up (no idea why), and completely smothered me with her breast - The last half of the massage was spent using a smelly hot towel to scrub me down - including scrubbing my face! This experience was uncomfortable, confusing, tense, and unprofessional. I know this job is nowhere close to being easy and is extremely physically demanding. I also don't expect much when it comes to massages; I truly just want to relax and hope they can iron out some knots. But I can't help but question their understanding of anatomy/physiology behind being a masseur - because this massage made absolutely no sense. read more

Refresh Spa? More like Elbow-you-into-submission spa. 90% of the massage, I was met with the hard pointy pressure of an elbow of an inexperienced masseuse. The remaining 10% was filled with nails and bodily sounds (coughing, burping, and groaning). There's a time & a place for elbow use in massage but you have to know where to rest your hard elbow in someone's back without hurting them. I can't believe I paid to get physically assaulted for an hour. I asked multiple times to go easier/softer, but not much changed. Not sure if they don't know any other way or just a language barrier. I would not recommend this place even if they pay you. You will regret it. read more

I got a facial from Qi, and it was really relaxing. Upon arrival, you can see and smell how clean the establishment is. I had called prior to make an appointment, they checked me in and I payed $75 upfront for the facial. I was walked to the back room, passed several rooms that had massage chairs/beds. Once in the facial room, they instruct you to take your top off and get under the covers. The entire facial was really relaxing. Qi stepped out of the room several times, I think because they keep the hot water and hot towels in a different room. I was given a scalp massage with the facial, as well as a shoulder and arm/hand massage. I was so relaxed, I almost fell asleep. This was my first time here and I was not expecting the massage, so that was a bonus. On my way out, I left Qi a $10 tip, which I felt served no justice to her service. I was not asked to leave a tip prior or after the service. They don't have pamphlets of their services, but they do have signs of their services which I too pictures of. Will definitely be coming back for the massages because this was such a relaxing experience. read more

I had an amazing massage with Monica yesterday. She was very communicative and my deep tissue massage was heavenly! She was able to find my knots and places of tension and really relative some stress. They also do cupping so next time I may add that s as well. I had a beautiful massage room with an electric fireplace which was so peaceful. The colors on the fireplace screen were so pretty- I think they only have one room like this so make sure you request it far in advance if you want that room. I did pass by other rooms on the way to the restroom and they all looked very nice and cozy. The room was very clean and the sheets and blankets were super soft. I will definitely be back for more treatments in the future! read more

I've gone here a hand full of times and it's always been hit or miss with the massage therapist. I come here because it's convenient and close to home. I was here yesterday and it will be my last time. I called and whomever answered told me they were able to squeeze me in if I came right away. When I got there, they were all confused. It's also a red flag when you have to pay and tip for the service you haven't received yet. They make you pay before they take you back. The look on their faces says it all when they don't appreciate what you tipped. My main complaint is for the therapist name Jeff. He did a horrible job. I definitely did not receive a massage. I couldn't feel anything and there was no zero effort from him. At first I thought maybe he was just getting started and it will get better. Nope, he did the same thing the entire massage. I was twiddling with my hands because I was so bored and had no idea what was happening. He also doesn't speak any English. He even left me there twice to help with other customers coming in. Did he increase my massage time for his absence on both occasions? No. So I called and wanted to speak with a manager and complained about my service. I wanted a refund because I didn't get the service I paid for. Instead of listening to what I was explaining to her, she acted like she was shocked. Said she always gets a massage from Jeff and it's always been great. Well, I didn't receive the service I paid for. I asked the lady who answered the phone for the managers name and she kept trying to change the subject. Eventually I agreed to having someone call me back. Next day, I received a phone call and they basically offered 20% off my next service. Manager was "still not available". Yea, definitely never coming back. read more

I have been in search of a local business to get a massage . I am a health care professional and it was long overdue. I decided to treat myself with a 60 minute foot massage and 60 minute body massage . Cathy was excellent . She was polite and professional. It was so nice that they took credit cards and were not pushy about pre tipping or placing a tip on the credit card. The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable . This is my second time going there. First one was good that's why I came back. But this time it was a different lady. I went cuz my body is sore and needs a massage. The lady literally just apply the oil and press felt like no effort or anything after that she just used a towel to scrub on half of the massage time. Very disappointing. I haven't been to a massage place in almost 3 years. I've been to enough to know this experience wasn't okay. I found this place which had good reviews on Yelp and google. I called ahead for a 1 hour foot reflexology. When I got there it looks nice and the front waiting area had great plants, fountains and fish tank. So I was told to follow the lady to the back but before we could get far in the hall two other employees and a client were all talking loudly back and forth right in front of me. I felt uncomfortable. She finishes and leads me back to the massage bed. I'm now sitting and waiting with my feet in a bucket of luke warm water. In a huge room with no privacy. One of the employees farts loudly in the hall/doorway to the room I'm in. Im now praying it's not this guy that's going to massage my feet and it is! The sound spa music is on but so quiet. So quiet you can hear EVERYTHING!!! I can hear him breathing the whole time. One employee kept walking up and down the hall in a hurry with her loud zippered boots. Then a VACUMM goes on! A vacuum in a massage place like what!? I sit up and look at him. Nothing. How is it that in a place where you should be respectful and quiet it was the absolute opposite. I scheduled a couples massage for this morning, Saturday 4/2 at 10am. We arrived and were taken to our room very soon after arriving. Ambiance was great. Our masseuses entered and began the massages. I had a few knots in my neck and shoulders which he promptly got them out. My husband got his and it was relaxing for him as well. My husband loved his massage, however, I had a male masseuse who was very rough. I should have been vocal about my discomfort but thought maybe he was working out some muscles. Today I can barely move my upper back. I won't go back even though my husbands experience was positive. I'be had male masseuses before but never had an issue. I think he was far too heavy handed. You see, the day before I came into your shop, my day started at 5:30 am. I got up early to freshen up my house, cook breakfast for my children, quizzed them with extra math and spelling words, and then personally dropped them off at school. I rushed home by 7:30 am to get dressed and meet vendors for my new business opening in effort to get ready for my grand opening. By 10:30 am I was back in the car with my new agent headed out to train her on her very first listing agreement. Later signed up a new client for a listing, later, zoom calls with management, then off to pick the kids up by 3pm. Homework, check-ins , kisses.. work. I fed the kids lunch and back off to work! Made it home by 5 to drive my son to soccer and sit with my husband to connect. Made it home by 7 to cook dinner. Completed this by 8:00 so that I could help train another agent who works all day and needed extra help. Homework and bedtime for kids completed by 10:00 pm. Worked on my pipeline, planned out marketing strategies until 12:00 am. PhD dissertation work till 3:00 am. Finally bedtime 3:30 am and up at 5:30 am. You see, the day I came into your shop, my day started at 5:30 am. I got up early to freshen up my house, cook breakfast for my children, quizzed them with extra science and vocab words, and then personally dropped them off at school. Personally built office furniture at my office at 7:30 am..Jumped on Management Zoom calls.. helped my new agent write her 2nd transaction in 24 hours, picked kids up at school by 3:00 pm, hit the road to drive 1 hour to get my daughter at her award winning cheer gym right across the street from you.. as I took conference calls in the car. You are right.. the moment I walked through your door.. I tried to steal a moment for myself to relax I tried to steal a piece of beauty despite my day I tried to steal time that was booked for something else.. I'm sorry if I looked like a thief, but you were confused. This is how your normal working mom looks... Just so you know, Despite my looks, I'm a wife, mother, educator, manager, agent,.. I have multiple advanced degrees, own my business, have a non profit, run a real estate company, own property.. My resume shouldn't matter... As a business owner myself.. They have all the importance aspects I am looking for a relaxing self retreat- cleanness, professional and relaxation! My therapist was Cathy, she is very professional to the point where I need to relief from pain. I went there right after the covid restriction was lifted and feel very safe because you could tell by how frequently they clean the place and even in the restroom you step in that you could smell the hygiency. And they have the hygiency supplies on top of every table by the massage chair. All of their therapists wear mask and having gloves when they are doing the job. love this place! read more

If you spend anytime on 580 you know how I was feeling at the end of this week here in the New Year. Stressed out and wound up tight. Bumper-to-bumper I searched for massage near the upcoming exit @First street. Just at the pass, and still another hour or more to go. Uh, no. Time to reward myself. Refresh is a tranquil place with a friendly staff. Clean and well lit. Quiet and calming. They offer Shiatsu, Deep Tissue, Aromatherapy and some other services. I requested the deep tissue. They worked my shoulders, back, neck, hands and feet for a good hour. WOW. I was so wound up when I got there. At the end the masseuse laughed because they had to wake me up! I'm feeling great, and the weekend is looking good. Thanks Refresh! And thank you Cathy! If you've got to deal with the 580, treat yourself. It's worth it. I had the worst massage ever in my life. I had booked for 1 hr foot massage, the lady was rough with my massages and she didn't even massage my arms. When the session was over, I asked what about my arms, she only rubbed them for few mins on both arms. I also asked for a male Masseus, she didn't even tell me they had no male that night. A group of 4 of us girls went on a Sunday afternoon and were able to get our reflexology massages all together in 1 large room. They were very professional, attentive and handled covid safety guidelines fabulously. It was very clean and they took us promptly at our appointment time. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is because I wish they would have quickly told you what reflexology massages were about. I felt the massage was uncomfortable sometimes but felt awkward saying something. Had they said it was ok to tell them I think I would of spoken up. They are so professional! There was 6 of us that came from Hawaii and before our hula competition in Pleasanton we wanted to treat ourselves and we absolutely loved loved it so much. This is exactly what we needed. From the scents, vibes , soothing tranquil sounds and the massages it was so relaxing . We will do this every year with these guys and they are super nice and accommodating. I made this appt 2 weeks in advance and they made sure they had enough workers so we can be seen all at once. For the price that they have, I think the massage is really worth it! I asked to focus on my neck. And it did not feel like she did anything different than usual, but after the massage I felt like my neck pain was gone. Basically neck muscles became much more flexible post-massage.
